The space
This magical space is grounded in a natural environment and vibrant architecture with a minimalist aesthetic.
This large comfortable 1 bedroom unit makes a striking impact with its bold lines and palette of sumptuous colors.
It has a king size bed (with memory foam topper), A/C, an indoor sitting area in front of glass doors that lead out to garden, a spacious wardrobe, newly renovated bathroom with a large hot water shower with natural rock floor and lots of natural light.
For those traveling with friends or family, this unit is connected to another Barragan Cube by a lock-out door through the bathroom should you be interested in renting both units When available). We'd be happy to send you the link.

HAMMOCKS: The property has 3 king size hammocks to enjoy in the garden or in the covered living room palapa.

KITCHEN: A well equipped kitchen is shared with guests from the other 2 units on the property. Guests cooperate to maintain it in top form and practice social distancing.

EXTRA CLEANING SUPPLIES: Sometimes guests want the ability to clean during their stay. We will have the following supplies available for your use:
• Disposable paper towels
• Disposable gloves
• Multi-surface cleaner
• Disinfectant wipes or spray
• Antibacterial hand sanitizer

THE CITY OF VALLADOLID: El Jardin is a short walk to the centre of the beautiful city of Valladolid, full of rich Mayan and colonial heritage and a diverse array of restaurants, artisan and boutique shops, markets, museums and parks wait to be explored.
Most local venues are now open.
Valladolid has always been a great base to explore most of Yucatan's major destinations. Within a 2 hour drive you will find exciting cenotes, world-renowned archeological sites and a myriad of other local culture gems that invite you to feel the warmth of the Yucatan and its vibrant Indigenous culture.

Guest access
There's lots of parking on the street. We have space inside the walls of the property for one car on a first come first serve basis.
The whole garden and the the pool is available for you and the guests in the other 2 units to enjoy.
The shared kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, plates and essentials to cook your own meals if you wish.

Other things to note
We follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol - a few highlights:
- high-touch surfaces areas are sanitized
- we use approved cleaners and disinfectants
- our cleaning person wears protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination
- extra cleaning supplies are available for you to clean as you stay

There are 2 other units on the property.
We have one travel crib for an infant available to whoever asks for it first.
Our outdoor pool is unheated. Our pool guy comes 3 times a week to clean and check levels. However, on windy days, leaves can blow into the pool.
If you'd like to go for a swim at night, you can turn on the lights in the pool. The switch is inside the tall cube beside the pool beside the huge traveler palm tree. Open the little wooden door on the back and bring your phone light to find the switch.
Like all neighbourhoods in Valladolid (and most of Mexico), some of our neighbours have dogs, chickens and/or roosters which you can hear from time to time. We're used to it. Most of our guests have not found it problematic but if you're a light sleeper, we suggest you bring ear buds.
You're welcome to use staples in the kitchen (oil, sugar etc).
Our gardener comes by every day.
We have a low charcoal grill BBQ - rather rudimentary but it works.
The pool does NOT have a fence around it so it might not be a suitable place if you have small children who might be unsupervised or can't swim.

Neighborhood highlights

The street is similar to others you'll find in many parts of the city, with a variety of houses and small businesses ranging from the more rudimentary to the well-appointed but mostly everything in between. The people are friendly and happy to greet you although most don't speak much English. The neighbourhood is safe. It's not generally noisy but when the city has festivals, they'll of course be part of your experience.
