The space
LAKE SANTA FE + PRIVATE COVERED DOCK
The Cypress is our family's 1,700-square-foot, 3-bedroom, 2-bath lake house directly on Lake Santa Fe in Melrose.
What makes staying here special isn't simply seeing the lake. It's how easily you can live on it.
Walk out of the screened porch, down just a couple of steps, and stay on the wooden walkway all the way from the house to the water.
Coffee on the porch. Fishing before breakfast. Swimming off the dock. An afternoon on the boat. Dinner from the Blackstone. One last drink under the covered dock.
LAKE + DOCK:

Lake levels in the area have been lower recently. One advantage of our long dock is how far it reaches into Lake Santa Fe. Even during lower-water conditions, we've continued to have good swimming depth at the end of the dock.

The Cypress is approximately 18 minutes from Gainesville, making it a compelling alternative to spending your entire weekend in a hotel.
GO TO THE GAME. COME HOME TO THE LAKE.
Guests can spend Friday evening on the dock, head into Gainesville for game day, then leave the crowds behind and return to Lake Santa Fe.
Much of Gainesville's game-day traffic approaches from the I-75 side, while guests return toward Melrose from the other direction. This can make The Cypress a surprisingly convenient home base.
11 A.M. CHECKOUT
We intentionally offer an 11 a.m. checkout because the final morning of a lake vacation shouldn't begin with an alarm clock.
Sleep a little longer. Make another coffee. Walk down to the dock one more time.
Enjoy the last morning.
Guest access
You'll have the entire home to yourselves, plus private use of the dock, boathouse, firepit, kayaks, and paddleboard for your whole stay. Free parking is available on the property. The owner's storage and boat on the lift are off-limits.

Because this is a true waterfront property, children and non-swimmers should always be supervised around the lake and dock. Swimming and water activities are at guests' own risk.

Wi-Fi has been very reliable for streaming and remote work.
