Lots to do nearby

Guests say this area has plenty to explore.
Our sparkling clean home is located on a quiet side street just a 2 minute walk to the village green and downtown shops. The house is bright, airy and air-conditioned.
Relax on the front porch or sit in the back yard next to the gas fire pit while you grill your dinner outside.

The space
We are located on a beautiful, quiet side street, just a short walk to the Bar Harbor town green, Main Street  with all its' shops and restaurants, the harbor itself, the YMCA, library, both movie theaters and more. Park your car and walk to everything, including the Island Explorer bus stop which will take you everywhere you want to go, free of charge. Our house is located in the heart of Bar Harbor and it is the perfect place from which to explore all of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island.

Comfort:
One important element to an enjoyable vacation, is a good night’s sleep. We provide comfortable mattresses and luxurious sheets. Two of our bedrooms have queen sized beds and our children’s bedroom sleeps two in a bunk bed.   The house has three air conditioners to provide comfort on those rare hot summer days when the ocean breeze is just not enough.

Our kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need to prepare meals at home, re-heat leftovers from your night out or even host a lobster bake. We have tried to think of everything you will need.

We provide all linens, towels, paper products, trash bags, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap, cleaning supplies and blowdryers.

My favorite part of the house is the front porch. From here you can, sit back, put your feet up, enjoy a cool drink and inhale the fresh ocean air that blows thru town.

Safety:
We have installed hard wired smoke and CO2 detectors in each bedroom and throughout the house. We also provide a fire extinguisher on each floor. The Capt. David House is located within half a mile of the Fire and Police Stations and less than a mile from the Mount Desert Island Hospital.

Guest access
The entire house is yours. Make it your home while you are visiting.

Other things to note
Parking is tricky due to the narrowness of our driveway. The best approach is to back into the driveway across the street and then pull into our driveway.
