Incredible place. Took my two young kids and Alan was good enough to show them the telescope even past theit bedtime. He 100% made my 6 year old full of excitement and wonder and a convert to astronomy. The location is pecaeful, full of wildlife and birdsong and just an incredible find. Its out of the way, but: 1. It has to be because of light pollution and 2. If my old campervan made it there, you can too. Any single parents of young kids just be aware bathroom and kitchen are outside accommodatiom and also downstairs, so be prepared to sneak out if you need a posg bedtime wee! Recommended unreservedly.

A beautiful home with amazing history in the heart of Yarm town. The pictures don’t even give it justice. Every corner is an art piece. Elisa and Chris made our stay easy and relaxing, loads of things to keep kids entertained, lovely kitchen and wonderful coffee, the bids are one of the best we tried in Airbnb. They proactively suggested things to do around and always easy to reach out to for anything. Lots of things to do around in Yarm and the greater Teesside area.

The most perfect stay for my partners birthday. The lodge itself was clean and had everything you could have wanted. We forgot milk, but he provided sachets of milk as standard. The views out the hot tub were incredible. Lots of details like a speaker system in the ceiling linked to the tablet and Netflix already logged in. A peaceful and relaxing stay and will definitely be returning.

Beautiful house with lovely decorations/ extra touches such as candles, cosy blankets etc. The log burner made the house feel cosy and there was plenty of logs provided. The kitchen/dining area was very well equiped with plenty of plates etc. There were also lots of extras provided such as washing up liquid, bin bags, tea, coffee, sugar etc. The only thing we needed to buy was some dishwasher tablets. The bathroom was probably the one area that wasn't 5 star as the hot tap handle kept falling off. The shower was also very noisy and leaked so this could only be used when everyone was awake (if you have any older members in your party they will probably need to use the ensuite shower as the shower in the bathroom is over the bathtub which has very high sides so is tricky to get in/ out of). Overall a beautiful house in a tranquil setting. Thank you.

As a family of 4 including two tweens needing to get off their gadgets, we have LOVED this stay. The views and comfort of the house are phenomenal. As well as sightseeing, we made time just to chill at the house and enjoy time at the reservoir away from it all. This was made possible because the hosts have literally thought of everything and the layout of the house is brilliant for socialising together. The bedrooms are super comfy, the kitchen has everything and there are some nice perks like the log fire, underfloor heating and unbeatable views that just make the house so enjoyable to be in. We took mountain bikes and glad we did, there are endless well kept trails for walking and cycling right from the door and a great park for kids within a healthy walking distance. Communication and information provided were fab, and we will go back for sure!

Spent 2 nights in an absolute time capsule to baldersdale!! Absolutely fascinating finds around the farm ,i have just got home and already planning to go back❤️

Beautiful area, diverse wildlife, peaceful and tranquil. Clean, thoughtful and appropriate cottage - beautifully decorated and located. Lots of ammenities provided - hoover, dishwasher, kindling, wifi but no iron. Jill could not be more amenable, welcoming and an amazing host - even helping us out when we couldn't get the fire burning - thank you :) Overall, 10/10 stay - perfect destination for walks, wildlife spotting and connecting with nature at an affordable, fitting price.

The Lake House

We had such a wonderful and relaxing stay at this cottage and will definitely go back. There is so much to like about staying here - the lakeside view from the bedroom, feeding the goats, ponies and ducks, relaxing by the lakeside fire pit at night, the walk to Mainsgill Farm for breakfast, the excellent food in the Bay Horse right next door (book in advance to avoid disappointment as it gets busy), and the well equipped games room. There are also so many nice villages and places of interest just a short drive away. Hilary is such a lovely host and very friendly and accommodating.

We hadn't been to this part of the country and having seen the property online decided to spend a few days away for our wedding anniversary. We felt instantly at home, the welcome package was a lovely surprise and the home made bread was delicious. We had everything we needed for our stay and the Lodge was a perfect location to return to after exploring the area with the dogs. Thank you for hosting us.

We had a lovely time staying in Dina’s loft. There were two separate rooms with a bathroom, which was perfect for us. Dina is an extremely friendly host and we had enormous fun chatting and laughing over a cup of tea before bed, and again over coffee and breakfast in the morning. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean (with impressively good shower pressure for a top floor), and the family were hospitable and kind. We felt right at home. We are very grateful to have stayed with Dina and her family.
