Family-friendly vacation rentals in Costa Rica

We had an amazing stay at Casa Colonial in July. The place more than lived up to the picture and reviews. The outdoor common spaces with the pool was a hit every day. Our kids lived in the pool. We enjoyed watching the howler monkeys in the tree next door and the house geckos on the walls every night. It’s definitely outdoor living and can be pretty hot in the common areas but the bedrooms are very cool and the AC works great. Showers work well and beds are comfortable. We were there 3 weeks and cooked a bunch. We loved playa langosta beach sunsets and being a little further out from the touristy tamarindo. It was an easy 10-20 min walk (which can be hot). Best surfing for beginners was 15 to 20 minute walk- or an easy Uber in the rain. So it was nice to rent a golf cart for part of the time. There are great restaurants, close in playa langosta and fun sports bar with pool ping-pong and more just down the block. Very responsive host! Highly recommend.

Our stay at the Airbnb in Costa Rica was beautiful! Ideally located between Jaco and Manuel Antonio, exploring the area's beauty was easy. Despite the rain, we had a fantastic time. The house was beautiful and ideal for celebrating our mother’s birthday, offering all the comforts we needed. The pool stood out, especially for families—my nephew loved it. We did have an issue when the water stopped, ironically during the rain, but the hosts responded quickly and showed great care in resolving it. A highlight was seeing toucans daily, adding a special touch to the natural beauty. The scenic location, family-friendly amenities, and attentive hosts made our stay memorable. We highly recommend this place for a relaxing Costa Rican getaway!

As everyone has said, this is an excellent house. The photos do not do it justice. It is bright, open, and huge. All 6 of us wow’ed as we walked in the door. Kimberly was an amazing co-host, she waited for us in pouring rain weather to walk us through the property and help us with suggestions. We had an a/c trouble the first day but she noticed before any of us did, had it fixed and called a tech the very next day for an expert inspection. The pool was very good - we spent a good afternoon in there.

The apartment with everything we expected and more. The housekeeping staff kept our apartment immaculate every day.. they took care of things that we had no intention of them taking care of. It’s a great location near to shops, tours, restaurants and cafes and more beach areas. I love that the parking is inside of a motorized fenced in yard. We always felt safe! The pool was gorgeous. The kitchen had basic necessities along with all of the dishes for us to cook our own meals and make our own coffee.. the only thing I would suggest is they need a sharper large knife. The air conditioning is great. Outdoor shower helps with the sand.. beds were comfy too.

We had a fantastic stay at Nicks!!! Absolutely loved the location, a short walk away was the beach and plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. Nick left a detailed guide of things to do and places to go and see, even recommendations of where to eat! Having a pool right there is a big bonus for us, as well as having surf boards and boogie boards supplied!! Nick has thought of everything to make sure his guests have a great stay!!! We enjoyed our stay so much we ended up staying for an extra week!! Next time we’re in the Jaco area we will definitely be staying at Nicks!!!

Very nice place

The house is in a condominium with security and a lot of tranquility, close to the beach approximately 2 minutes by car and 4 minutes from the shopping center where there is supermarket and restaurants. A very nice place to visit

i love the house was much more than expected. the details everything was perfect The garage could be cleaned in rainy weather so it's not slippery but everything was perfect

This place was a great find for our trip to La Fortuna, and the hosts were very welcoming. We enjoyed the private hot tub surrounded by the jungle sounds, while still being close to town.

Dinorah and her family lives right next door and she was most helpful all throughout our stay. The house is clean and comfortable, the surroundings relaxing and peaceful. La Fortuna is about a 10 minute drive away, so close enough to be easily reachable without being in the center of everything. There's a small grocery store at the end of the street, but bigger shopping trips or restaurants need a short drive. Overall a relaxing stay and great hosts!

The cottage is beautiful! She is much nicer in person, super welcoming and with everything you need for your stay. Jan maintains excellent communication from the start and is always available for any questions or needs that may arise. From the beginning he offered us the crib, since I knew we were going with our baby, which to us as daddy meant a lot. Jan is super friendly and friendly, and really interested in having one have a good time in the casita. We are definitely going back as we ended up delighted with the casita and Jan's service as a host.

We loved our second visit to Sharon & Garry’s home. The location is perfect to walk all through town. We love our morning walking to Orgánico and walking the beach back! The house is the perfect set up for our 3 kids and we brought the grandparents. We love all the intention put into the home with all the details needed to have a wonderful stay. We look forward to our next visit to Nosara and hope we can stay here again!

Ideal location, right in the heart of everything in Tamarindo, you call it restaurants, beach, supermarket, coffee shops, gym… The apartment if extremely well kept, surroundings are beautiful. Alexander and Gabriela are very friendly and helpful. Very fast internet for digital nomads. I recommend it to the Airbnb community 100 %

We thoroughly loved our stay at Los Titos Farm! The property itself is magical, so much to see and explore- we just wish we had more time to walk around the farm and watch for wildlife, it is gorgeous! Phillip is an amazing host, was available for all our questions and gave us local recommendations for places to eat. Would highly recommend for anyone who is traveling to the area! One of our favorite stays to date!

There are not enough stars to rate Jai’s Wanderlust Villa. If you are looking for an authentic Costa Rican home away from home, it doesn’t get better than her Airbnb. We spent several nights here on an all-girls trip and felt completely safe. The place is stunning, spotless, and all the attention to detail made it extra special to relax and unwind. Jai went above and beyond for our group. She took the time to ask questions and then organized some of the best experiences we could have ever dreamed of. From ATV rides to an island boat cruise and even a crowd favorite fire dancer for after dinner entertainment. Hands down the best Airbnb stay in ten years of using the app. 10/10 would recommend and will return!!

Ilonka place was great! Very clean, spacious and comfortable. My 2 favorite things in that place was the big wall mirror in the living room and the master bathroom. Also had a good local restaurants that wasn’t far to get to. I would definitely recommend and come and book this place again. Thank you again!

True little paradise, beautiful space, surrounded by lush cloud forest. We made use of some of the facilities of the luxury Hotel Belmar around the corner (breakfast, forest tour, mocktails), while enjoying Tanya’s private and personal hideaway. For us this was a great balance for a short Monteverde stay while being pregnant :) we also loved some of the nearish by food places in Monteverde, e.g. Stella’s and Wholefoods for small groceries. But many more tips provided by Tanya! All in all, highly recommended.
