This was the perfect place for us to stay for a night on the way down from Scotland. Patricia and Alan were very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was absolutely delicious!

Sandy has a beautiful house and garden, which are private with interesting decor and furniture. As a host, she was perfect, communication was kind, breakfast was bountiful, and the rooms were comfortable and peaceful. Special mention for Cara, with very friendly terrier, and she got on very well with our Cavapoo Stan.

Great place for families and solo travellers!

This is such a wonderful place! It is charming, cozy and beautifully decorated. It is perfectly located to explore the Northern Fells of the Lake District with beautiful scenery all around. The house itself was perfect in every way and the owners were very generous with little touches around the house, with bread and milk on arrival, food for breakfast and much more. The fire was set for us and there were lots of fresh flowers. This is a great place to stay and we had an amazing weekend there.

We had an amazing stay at this Airbnb! The place was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. Tess, the host was great, responsive, and made sure everything was perfect for our visit. The location was ideal—quiet yet close to everything we needed. My famiky truly felt at home and appreciated all the thoughtful touches that made our stay comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming and stress-free experience! 😊

Our second time staying, but this time with two toddlers as well. Helen and Peter couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We felt very so welcome and they really looked after us. We all enjoyed the lovely breakfast provided and slept well in the peaceful and comfortable room. This is a perfect b&b and we would highly recommend.

Exceptional! The accommodation was spacious, quirky in a good way, surprisingly well equipped, and no expense spared. Our host Ivan was extremely helpful and a pleasure to talk to. We plan to return!

Booked at short notice we only stayed one night. We were looked after and the extra bed made up at short notice. The large apartment had everything we needed and the food in the fridge was greatly appreciated. I would definitely stay again. Thank you.

A great find. We had a very enjoyable time in a very comfortable and well appointed flat, set on a quiet road overlooking the countryside. Brampton was a 10 minute stroll away and the Howard Arms is one of the best hostelries we have visited in a while. Tuesday night was steak night good quality and well priced and included a bottle of wine. Heather our host had provided a bus timetable and we visited Carlisle for a day. I took advantage of the fly fishing at New Mills trout fishery and was fortunate with the weather. Cranstons in Brampton provides a good range of local produce and there are several coffee shops. Overall we had a great time and will have return visit in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Motherby House and am so grateful to the hosts, Jacquie and David, for making me feel so welcome. They’re both kind and engaging—and they gave me some great recommendations for places to eat and visit in the area. Breakfast was delicious and Jacquie kindly made me a tasty packed lunch for my hike! I’d be very happy to stay here again.

Beautiful warm clean accommodation . The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in. Bathroom was large, very clean and hot water. Julie left us a wide choice of breakfast including vegan, lovely. Very private and quiet, parking. Attention to detail was great “sheep” .

Alda was friendly and helpful. She provided delicious breakfasts, and was willing to accommodate our dietary preferences. The location was great, on a quiet street just a short walk to the center of town with easy access to shops, restaurants and the lakeside.

Robin was an incredibly kind, respectful, and helpful host with a wealth of knowledge about the local area. He gave us excellent recommendations on what to see and do. Each morning, he prepared a delightful breakfast for us, and it was a pleasure getting to know him a little bit. We would 100% recommend staying at How Head Barn! Thank you, Robin — we truly appreciated your time and effort.

Had a great stay. BnB had everything we needed. Great location. Wonderful host. Andy made us feel very welcome and at home. Very friendly, happy to chat and share his knowledge/ answer questions about the local area. Enjoyed the breakfast. Andy continuously offering more tea and coffee :) would definitely stay again if returning to that area.

Amazing stay with Wendy & Tony! The location is perfect if you want to explore some beautiful walking routes in Lake district. Tony and Wendy made us feel at home, welcoming us upon arrival, making a delicious English breakfast every morning and giving us tips what to explore in the neighborhood. You have your own living room, bedroom and bathroom which makes it feel like you have your own space while staying with them in the same house. Highly recommend!

Jayne and Karl are the most wonderful, welcoming and friendly hosts I’ve met. From the moment we arrived soaking wet from walking all day along the Hadrian’s Wall Path in the rain Jayne gave us a friendly welcome and offered to dry our wet boots. The rooms were warm, the beds VERY comfortable and the views outstanding and the peace was wonderful too. The home cooked food was tasty and cooked with great care and we opted for a packed lunch to take with us too. If you’re walking the Hadrian’s Wall Path find a way to stay here! Thank you Jayne and Karl.

Penny was very welcoming and the accommodation was perfect for my quick visit. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
