Monthly Rentals in Brightling

This is our second visit to the lodge after our first visit 2 years ago, also in December. It is a peaceful haven away from busy, chaotic life. It’s in a beautiful, quiet location. There’s wildlife to be seen and fresh air. Inside is a log burner and gorgeous surroundings/decor! The resident cat & dog are allowed in to visit if you like animals which is a bonus (but totally ok to not let them in if you’re not an animal person, so don’t let that dissuade you!) This is honestly such a beautiful place & we would love to go back for a 3rd visit. Thank you again Sally & Gavin - you’re wonderful x

We had a lovely stay. It's in a beautiful location- very peaceful and with everything we needed for a quiet break away. We did initially have trouble finding the property. It's not visible from the road. We had had a couple of emails with an 'image' that we could not see so maybe we had been sent instructions that we hadn't managed to open. Having said that, Romy couldn't have been more helpful over the phone and her daughter and friend who were nearby also helped us straightaway when we had a problem with the hot water. The Swan Inn opposite is a lovely rustic pub - friendly and with good food. We enjoyed a country walk past Batemans and a visit to Battle Abbey. We also recommend the friendly little cafe next to the Post Office at Netherfield. A lovely stay and we would recommend.

Loved my time at the cabin, it was very cosy, comfortable and clean. It was so lovely walking in the woodlands, I even spotted deer and pheasants! And sitting around the fire pit in the evenings, looking at the stars and listening to the owls hooting was the cherry on top. Karen was super responsive and checked in to see if I needed anything. Would definitely recommend!

I stayed here with 2 others for a short city break, and had a lovely, peaceful week of rest and relaxation. Christy's place was homey, warm and spotlessly clean. Christy was very responsive and kindly dropped off her set of kitchen scales after work so I could do a bit of baking. We were provided with a generous amount of firewood for the toasty log burner, and enjoyed the expansive variety of DVDs, boardgames and jigsaw puzzles. I also appreciated the in-depth welcome folder with info on local history and walks, and manuals for all the appliances (we were a big fan of the coffee machine!). The velux windows in all the rooms and hallway were the highlight of my stay, and I would love to stay again when the weather is clearer to do a bit of stargazing and enjoy the expansive annex secret garden and local walks. 😊 The stay was truly perfect, and I am already missing it dearly! Thank you for being such a lovely host, and allowing us to stay in your gorgeous annex.
