Family-friendly vacation rentals in Bovey Tracey

Apart from the hill to get to the property, everything else was what we wanted as an elderly couple. We did not venture out as property was so comfortable and clean. Apart from a special hot tub, the two main things that stood out for us like living in luxury was the beds and the underfloor heating. We both work hard and had a very relaxing week. Could not fault anything with the property inside or out. Would 100% stay again. We didnt mind places to see being quite a distance away.

Stunningly beautiful spot, right on the beach. Like being in a ship when the tide is in! Everything about the apartment is beautiful. Very comfy beds, lovely linen and towels. Kitchen has literally everything you could want and more! Very much appreciated the eco products and good recycling practice on site. Chris and Tanya were both very good at communicating. We will definitely return asap.

Our stay here was great. The Garden Rooms were perfect for our needs. Holls had even put up Xmas decorations for visitors that was a really nice touch. The facilities are really good, well equipped and very cosy. My son and I were walking different routes each day and the Hot Tub was a nice reward for walking over Dartmoor in December ! Holls really made us welcome and it was a pleasure to meet her. 'Thanks Holls' for all the advice and information that really was appreciated. We tried the local Fox Tor cafe and the Prince of Wales pub for food and drinks and both were really nice and welcoming. We were only staying a few days but really could have stayed longer and would highly recommend the garden rooms to anyone looking for a great base to explore Dartmoor and this lovely part of Devon. Thanks Holls from Russ and Ben - we hope to be back again !

We had a lovely stay at Julie's treehouse. The hottub and cosy fire place was a highlight of our girls trip. The beds were so comfortable and the heated blankets were a lovely touch in the cold weather. The only thing we would note for future guests would be the tree house is canvas material and very very cold. It took us a few hours to get warm through the fire place. There is also no cooker inside however a practical BBQ oven outside. There is an electric hob inside though. We would definitely recommend this stay, thank you Julie, we had a great holiday!

Wow, what an amazing place. Cath was a great host, meeting us at the property, even baking is a cake, showing us round and recommending pubs and running routes in the area. Loved the hot tub and wood fire. Bedrooms were great sizes. It had everything we wanted and even more, we didn't even get chance to play pool or table football. Great walks in the area, with lovely pubs. To be honest we didn't want to actually leave the house, as it was such a great, sociable space. Definitely looking to book again next year! The surroundings were lovely and a large enclosed garden was great for the dog and our 3 children. we had many a happy night in the hot tub. Lots of things for the kids to play with. We drove to all the local beaches would say most things are within an hour's drive and would recommend watermouth castle as a day out if you have kids!

Maren and Richard were great hosts!! The yurt was exactly as described, beautiful scenery and a very peaceful place. Great weekend escape! Loved it, thanks for having us.

As with most things in life, you have to know what you are looking for… and it is an excellent place to spend a few days!

The magical hideaway cottage lives up to its name. It is in a lovely rural location just off the beaten track. The living area and the two bedrooms are spacious and beautifully styled. The kitchen is pretty and rustic but has all the modern equipment you would need and the large bathroom has a walk in shower. It has a beautiful large garden and is in a wonderful location for walks. In a few words Fish Cottage is utterly charming and characterful.

We had a fantastic week, the house was perfect for our family, the rooms were huge and the location and views were stunning. There's so many lovely places to visit within a short drive. I couldn't recommend the house and hosts highly enough.

Lovely accommodation, well presented, great decor, comfortable bed, spacious, breakfast provisions provided and great hosts. Lots to do within short drives even the Eden Project was only 1.5 hours away. Great communication from Richard during our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying here.

Great stay here, central to get to Salcombe and surrounding areas. Everything you need is in this apartment, cute little kitchen areas tucked into cupboards. Comfortable bed. Parking on street, we were lucky and parked right outside, limited to 2 hours during day but overnight is free. Would return again, thank you

We thought Waves was beautiful. Thank you for the welcome pack of cream tea, milk orange juice etc it was so thoughtful. As was the “Happy Birthday” banner. The Christmas tree was a delight too. It was a true home from home, having all the little details, nothing was forgotten to ensure our comfort. We both have mobility issues and didn’t have any issues moving around. It was truly a wonderful place for relaxing and taking in the sea air. Absolutely beautiful! We have been to Dartmouth and surrounding areas as my husband was born in Brixham parents born here in Brixham and Dartmouth. But never stayed in Stoke Fleming, an oversight not to be to be repeated as even the neighbours and local Pub and Post Office welcomed us as old friends. Thank you for helping to make my husband’s birthday even more special.

A fantastic place to stay, especially for long stays, very well equipped, really spotless with lovely modern furnishings. We had a wonderful welcome pack of provisions, cakes and the most beautiful flowers. Added bonus of a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Really comfortable large beds. Able to watch Netflix, Disney Channels etc on the installed Now TV box. Felt very safe with the gated entrance. Centrally located and great to be able to walk to the town centre, tennis courts, sports centre and lovely park. Waitrose and Asda also nearby. Andrea was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the pictures do not do this place justice, as it is much bigger than the pictures show. The annex was very clean and spotless. Ian & Katka (Hosts) were very proactive, friendly and welcoming and went the extra mile. The swimspa and hot tub are an absolute amazing feature of the property along with the balcony and views. We would highly recommend and would love to visit again.

We stayed over the Christmas week. It’s always a worry as to whether there will be sharp knives, enough trays while cooking Christmas dinner etc but I need not have worried as there was everything we could possibly have wanted. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and all items were clean, good quality and plentiful. The whole property was very comfortable, warm and spacious. Outside areas were accessed by the grandchildren, they enjoyed a daily swim. The system for booking is excellent. We managed to have a brief game on the tennis court and the children had a little time in the play hut and on the equipment. The zip line was a real hit. It would be lovely to be able to return when the weather would allow more use of the great outdoor facilities. Laura and Richard are great hosts. Brilliant communication prior to arriving. A great in person welcome too on arrival. We hope to return and can highly recommend Mullen at Pitt farm

We all enjoyed our week at Woodpecker Barn. The on site games room and indoor pool were used a lot and the property was large enough for all of us to have space. The location was quiet with some other properties on the site used but lots of space for everybody. On the Sunday afternoon we had a fault code showing on the dishwasher so I messaged Louise who arranged for repair early Monday which was great service. We would recommend the house to friends and family,South Devon is a lovely area to visit.

The views are spectacular on three sides. We really liked it, spotlessly clean, well equipped and great value.

We spent 4 nights at the Priesthole, it is an excellent base for walking part of the SWCP. Iona is an excellent host and made us feel very welcome, showing us around the gardens, recommending local pubs and giving tips on safe swimming at Torcross. The place is well equipped and comfortable and extremely quiet at night. Thank you!
