Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Big Sur

We loved our stay here! The house was cozy and comfortable. Meli was very thoughtful and left us champagne and sparkling apple cider as well as many snacks to enjoy while we were there. The beds were all very comfortable. We loved hanging out in the living room and enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. The location was more industrial than I realized, but it was an easy drive to get to restaurants and the beach. There is a nice view of the ocean from the patio and out the windows.

We had a lovely visit of 4 nights at Jai's place. It was perfect for our family with two adult children. The house was very comfortable and clean (with beautiful decor) and the outdoor area was perfect for hanging out. And an added bonus was that the location was fantastic. We were within walking distance of downtown SLO and just a block away there was a great coffee shop and next to that was a bakery with yummy offerings. I would highly recommend Jai's place and hope to stay there again in the future!

The stay was great, and he has a lot of accommodating factors if needed, such as extra beds and a high chair. The house was well equipped including board games for entertainment, and there was even a backyard area to enjoy if you so choose! A wonderful house placed in a nice neighborhood!

We had a wonderful stay at Sandee’s property! The location was fantastic and we loved soaking in the sun on the roof.

Clean, comfy, and conveniently located for our road trip to Santa Cruz and the coast. We walked to shops, the marina, and the beach during our stay. The large dining table was great for playing Yahtzee while Alexa served up our favorite tunes on demand. Al, the maintenance guy who lives next door, introduced himself the first day of our stay, gave us his card, and offered to support whatever we needed—but we didn’t need much. A previous guest left a broken corkscrew, and I could've called Al. Instead, I walked to Day’s Market Liquors & Deli and bought a $5 replacement, along with freshly made chicken tamales that were absolutely delicious.

Being so close to 101, we didn't hear any road noise. It is so close to Sea Cliff Beach, even our 4 year-old grandson could walk to it. This house is a little boy's dream house with all of the toys. The kitchen is so well-stocked with utensils, cookware and all of the nicknacks like cooking oil and herbs. I think because the house rents well and some of the furnishings are starting to show some wear like the secondary bathroom counter. What a vacation we had there!

This is my 2nd time staying at this Airbnb, and I would stay here again. Location is very walkable to downtown SLO and parking was never an issue. The space sleeps 6 comfortably and the outdoor patio is a perfect place to hangout.

This is a wonderful gem hidden in Arroyo Grande. Trenda and Joe have gone above and beyond to make the place feel comfortable and at home. Would highly recommend to anyone!

John's place was such a lovely little getaway near Avila Beach. It was up on top of the hill so felt private and quiet but was close to all that Avila has to offer. The space itself was lovely and comfortable (the queen bed was super but the twins beds weren't the most comfy) and had everything we needed. John met us to show us around and gave lots of local recommendations. We would definitely come back here.

Great, spacious place that is inside a four plex with privacy.. the inside is very well done, tastefully, and clean .... there is a complete kitchen, and for those of us who are "hotel refugees" (do not want to stay in corporate hotels), this place and Renee make you feel at home

My husband and I had a great weekend get away. It was so nice to be able to walk every where.

Well-stocked, simply furnished bungalow-type attached residence in the Seabright neighborhood, convenient to the northeastern residential sections of Santa Cruz and to supermarkets and natural food stores. Many new, easy-to-operate small appliances and good laundry set-up. Ample kitchenware and condiments. Quiet city surroundings, easy parking. Overall, staying at the unit (and interacting with owner) was a pleasure.

We loved staying here! So cute inside, very clean, and spacious enough for our dog to roam around. Everything was so organized! Sherry included drinks, doggy treats, snacks, and coffee! Very thoughtful and added a personalized touch! Would love to stay here again! 5/5 recommend!

The condo was well worth the reasonable price. It was beautifully clean and comfortable with spacious bed/bath rooms. The garage was a very nice plus. A very good option for SLO visitors!

This was the cleanest AirBnB we've ever stayed in! Pristine! Tidy! Stunning ocean views from both the living room & primary bedroom. The entire villa has been remodeled yet still has the Old World Charm and coziness. This Villa is located on the 2nd floor of North Bluff - is very private - has a pool jacuzzi just steps away. The resort offers many amenities, restaurant, bar, room service (or pick up) massage, sauna - endless. Aptos Village is right across the street - walking distance offering many shops, market and a great place for pizza and Italian food. We will definitely stay with Sue again - as soon as we can! Next time, we'll try her other property #33. Sue is a GREAT hostess in every area and has earned Super Host many times over!

We stayed for the weekend and really enjoyed it. The place is really nice and exactly what you see on the pictures. super clean and very comfortable. Well equipped with everything you need. Super close to the beach and you can be in bed listening to the waves ( super relaxing). I highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back again. Owner was very easy to communicate and checked in to make sure we arrived safely and were comfortable. Thank you for letting us stay.

One of the cleanest Airbnbs we have stayed at. Steps to the beach and the location is ideal and prime as it’s not too far or close to the town/freeway.

Loved this place! Right by Capitola wharf so it was super easy to walk downtown for dinner and shopping. The apartment was bigger than I expected, super clean, and had everything we needed. Jennifer was very helpful and got back to us right away when we had questions. Definitely staying here again next time we visit!

This property has an awesome location - just steps from the beach. What really stood out was how responsive the host is. We checked in just before midnight as we were stuck in traffic but she stayed up to make sure we got in all right. Whenever we had a question, she was quick to respond. Thank you for a great stay!

This was my second stay with Vince and Emily at Otter Lofts, and I plan on coming back! They are wonderful hosts, you cannot beat the location, and both of their places are wonderful. Walking everywhere in Avila is the best, and having the garage is so nice and convenient
