Villa vacation rentals in Zanzibar

This was by far the best place we stayed at, which was agreed upon by a group of 6 guests. Check-in was very flexible and the place looked even better than described on the site. The place was cleaned daily and Co host Bakari was very attentive by coming daily to check on us. The surrounding areas were amazing and great food was all around the place. There was nothing that fell short. Overlooking the beach with bbq amenities on the roof top that offered great views all around. This place was phenomenal. Five stars in our view.

The house was great. We had everything we needed and were able to visit restaurants on foot along the beach. People are incredibly welcoming. The housekeepers Majuma, Aysa and Ben were the best and loved ones. They were incredibly sweet and helpful. prepared us a super delicious breakfast and dinner every day. The two tour guides Solomon and Rahmadan booked us unforgettable trips, everything we imagined was made possible without problems. They were always there for us and offered us a car service. We all really loved it. All in all, everything went perfectly and smoothly. We can 100% recommend the villa.

Super Fantastic Host Extraordinary. I am yet to meet any host of Carol’s capacity. Over and beyond that call of duty. I love to cook on holidays, Carol was my guide that took me to the local market, made sure I wasn’t reaped off by the locals. Went to two different markets. Helped to change currency at the local bureau de change. All around astonishing and outstanding ! Highly recommended and appreciated.

The feeling to live in a big private house with this garden almost like a jungle outside is amazing. The staff takes so good care of you and cook great meals. Jaku helped us with everything. Atm, shop,guids, food, showed us around, visit the villige school and was always on time. It is calm and not so many tourist around. The white beach outside is huge and its a great place for swimming. (I hope they start cleaning it a bit more, it deserve it. Nice restaurants close with wifi! The house is without so don't forget to load down the movie that you would like to see in the evening :) But these days its nice not having wifi all the time. Take the break, its good for us. The house gets a little dark in the evening but I hope there are more lamps next time I come back, because I really to want come back. They have changed the roof so don't get confused. its the same house as in the picture on airbnb. If you want get away from tourist and looking for a calm place just to relax, this is your house. And the house can absolutely take 15-20 persons. The villige behind it is small and not rich but the people that lives there are great and warm. we felt welcomed. So hire this place, meet the people that actually lives and was born in Zanzibar, Big hotels are all over the world, this is so much more. All my best, Siri

A very well-equipped villa, especially if you keep your eyes open and see the conditions in which the local people live in their immediate surroundings. The locals are friendly and open, only language can be a barrier to making friends. We spent these few days just lazing around, we only went to the beach to go to the beach, to search in the sea, to play football in the sand. There is not a huge selection of restaurants and they are a bit more expensive than the other village we visited, Jambiani. The apartment and the kitchen are well equipped, you can also spend time in the garden, everything is added. We experienced something that we rarely get used to during our travels: the TV was not just a decoration on the wall, it worked, with lots of channels. Adam and Rahel are our two hosts. We found that Adam was there and easily available for us, he uses his phone, he doesn't only respond through the airbnb interface. He was at our disposal regarding power outages and internet problems

If you’re looking for a private beach with white sand and security, this villa is ideal for you. I travel frequently and often book Airbnbs, but this villa truly stands out as the best. It’s incredibly beautiful. The guards, the host, and the staff have all been exceptional. It has exceeded my initial expectations. Calister and her team have been incredibly helpful with everything. The attention to detail and the level of service here make it a remarkable experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious getaway. I’m definitely re booking once I visit Zanzibar again.

Fantastic villa. It’s not often you get to stay in en enormous house that used to be part of a Sultan’s place. Even after reading all the positive reviews it exceeded expectations. The house is an experience itself and Rafael as a host is very easy to communicate with, always responsive and gave us great tips. If you want to treat yourself to exceptional experience while in Stone Town. Highly recommend!

Pros: Very good hosting. The pool is beautiful ++. The house is clean. Very friendly staff . Very good stay. Things to know: There are only 6 sunbeds at the pool. Breakfast are only served in the villa because the terrace and pool are too far away, it's a shame because you wake up the whole house, it resonates in the dining space, and noisy doors, impossible to make a fat morning (But anyway we are raised with roosters singing) The room on the beach is pretty but rudimentary, if we stop the fan 5min, mosquitoes arrive because wooden "cabin", our friends slept very badly there, the screen is outdated and it would need an additional fan. The view is magnificent from this terrace, very nice beach (even at high tide not enough water to swim, only bubbling). From the house you have to cross the garden, then take a path for 40m , cross the volleyball court before arriving at the pool. Nice bar next door.

Loved our stay and the people were amazing! The daily breakfast and dinner were fabulous and we were well cared for by the property staff. Thank you Moonshine for allowing us to stay at your property to experience Zanzibar!

We had a wonderful time, the house is beautiful and Bakari and Vicki were on hand to help with anything. The house was very clean and Vicki did a great job leaving us lovely bed art. Would love to visit and stay again.

Lorenz was very responsive and accommodating, particularly when we expressed concern that the whirlpool is inside and cannot be closed off. we have a 3 year old who sometimes wanders at night and we were worried he would get into the pool while we slept; Lorenz offered to drain and cover the whirlpool for us. the beach is lively and clean and everyone we encountered was very friendly. lots of restaurants nearby on the beach. the house staff is very friendly and helpful. the washer listed as an amenity was not available but the staff took our laundry and washed and dried it for us.

A place that you would wish to stay some other time

Overall, this place was fantastic. It’s a traditional Zanzibar design so it’s not a modern place, but exactly what we wanted. We were thrilled to be there with our large group of two families, including 5 children. Rasheed was excellent and accommodated all of our requests. Food, especially breakfast, was delicious. The beach outside the villa is pristine, with white sand beaches and a beautiful Indian Ocean right outside the doorstep. The private pool was incredible. The villa rental subsidizes the Tamani Foundation and its students, so staying here contributes to the education of local kids. Win win.

We booked both connecting airbnbs. They are identical. The prompt was even better than pictured. Many ig picture worthy spots. There is only ac on the bedrooms so the common areas do get warm. The house manager was extremely friendly and helpful. I recommend getting the chef he did a great job. There is a little convenience store about 10 min walk but other than that there isn’t a whole lot around. The location is an hour drive from The rock restaurant, stone town and the northern beach.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Caren, the house manager, was super helpful, and even planned a beautiful birthday surprise for me. The house and grounds are gorgeous, and every meal we had was amazing! Definitely take advantage of the chef! I hope to return some day!

This is a great house, beautifully decorated and right on the beach. The pool was a great choice for the kids. Staff is very friendly. The partnership with Poa Poa Restaurant is a nice addition (including free breakfast!). I would recommend this villa and I would come back.

Very lovely and comfortable villa with lots of amenities, and a nice and clean shared, private pool. Two villas in a gated property. Fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator, microwave (needs to be replaced). Breakfast area by the pool. BBQ grill available. 5 minutes walk to the beach and about 10 minutes to beachfront restaurants. Kareem, who is the resident helper does it all! He is an AWESOME helper who is always available to help with anything, even the smallest detail. Fast, energetic, enthusiastic, never complains and always a happy, smiling personality. HE made our stay incredibly enjoyable. Runs errands as needed. Unfortunately, we had a few instances where the electricity went out (once for an extended period of time during the night and through around 10 am the next day) which caused discomfort since the AC and fans wouldn’t work but these were town-wide outages and not under the property’s control. However, I would recommend installing a generator to avoid such inconveniences.

Beautiful villa on the outskirts of Stonetown, it comfortably fit 10 people (with shared beds) and it’s about a 15 minute drive from town. Host was very helpful, flexible, and responsive. House is beautiful, with direct beach access and a fully equipped kitchen. I would happily stay again and would recommend it to anyone.

Thanks for a wonderful stay Raphael. The house is beautiful, it is as described. It is very well maintained, there are fruit trees and bougainvillea on the property and it is beautiful The house is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The pool is large and clean, we enjoyed it in the late afternoon after returning from the beach (1 min walk) Issa the caretaker is a kind, efficient and trustworthy man. Raphael is an exceptional host, he responded promptly to our many requests always with a kind word and a smile in his voice. We hope to meet him one day and we will certainly return to his home. Go there without so much as a second thought.

Simba’s apartments was a wonderful stay. Christoph was a generous and pleasant host, very available. We got to watch both the Wimbledon and Euros finals (in the bedrooms is possible too) - if you enjoy sports, it’s the right place to go. The staff was super friendly. The rooms very comfortable. And you’re a short walk from the beautiful pristine beach. SIMBA has a partnership with Mayai Hotel so you can go enjoy the pool, beach and restaurant at Mayai (10min walk away). We recommend staying here!

Thank you so much to the Hostly team you guys have been amazing to me. Every single problem I had you guys were quick to answer it. During my stay the power went out a few times which is not under the teams control it’s the country itself but still when ever I would send a message to host they where on top of getting someone to look at it. Also in my stay one generator broke in my bathroom and was flooding the floors, and the hostly team sent a mechanic to fix the issue right away in less then 1 hour. The chef, taxi service, and activity planner they recommend for me in my guest where 10/10 and made me and my guest have a fun and wonderful experience in Zanzibar. I like the fact that the house is well guarded with 24/7 security from the front to the back considering that it’s on a beach which is not private it made me feel very safe. I recommend booking with coco rise villas you won’t be disappointed :)
