Vacation rentals with a kayak in Western North Carolina

This house was amazing. It was very clean and we all felt right at home as soon as we walked in. It's well-furnished and the layout allows for both group settings as well as privacy. The views from the back of the house overlook the lake and provide for incredible and peaceful views. Be sure to open the curtains at night for the master bedroom so you can view the water and the stars on a clear night before waking up to the beautiful sights of the lake in the morning. The driveway allowed for three vehicles to easily park without having to move cars around when someone needed to leave. There was still easily room for more vehicles if necessary though that would require planning for coming and going. One guest that came with me spent a day working on the screened-in part of the upstairs back porch and raved about it being the best place to work between the comfort and the relaxing views. I would definitely stay here again! Great host and great house!

Beautiful & peaceful location. The house was lovely, kitchen well stocked with kitchen items, gadgets. Big beautiful windows to see out to the lake; and both bedrooms w/ lake views. Beautiful house! Lovely porch & dock, where we spent all our time.

Beautiful place, relaxing and quite. It is a great place to stay and plenty of stuff for kids to enjoy. We had a great time with our family.

The Bobber Bungalow is such a cute stay with beautiful views. Loved the back sunroom and the access to the cove. Neighbors were all very quiet. Lindsay communicated well with us before and during our stay and house was very clean when we arrived. Only wish was that there was a door or curtain between master bedroom and master bath. Otherwise, everything was wonderful! Thank you!

Definitely 5++ star review. Everything we needed was already there. Best experience with Airbnb yet. Our family enjoyed everything Hardystone had to offer. We never had to turn on a TV because there were so many activities to keep everyone entertained. From Ping Pong and Pool Tournaments to Paddle Boarding to S’mores by the fire! We will most definitely rent through this group again!

An amazing place with an amazing view. Tim communicated from day 1 and was there if needed. Home had plenty of amenities that made you feel at home. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a great place to stay! Would definitely stay again if possible.

This was such a great place for our family to create such good memories. I am grateful for the weekend we had here . So peaceful and beautiful.

We spent Easter weekend here. As we drove in the wild azaleas and dogwoods were blooming, and everything afterwards was just as beautiful and peaceful. My teenagers loved kayaking and my daughter liked the pond so well she slept on the daybed on the porch. I appreciated the feather pillows and reverse osmosis water. Attention has been paid to every detail. I called my Nana to show her the antique desks. My small children enjoyed the toys and my middle son using the pully bucket on the porch. My daughter celebrated a birthday over our stay, more movie guests showed up than expected and I just couldn't turn these kids away. Our hosts were so kind. They of course charged a little extra as was clearly understood via the contract, they were very understanding and polite. The lock to the boat seems to be jamed, the downstairs fireplace is currently non operational, and I'm not sure I'll get back a thumb drive I forgot, but this family has worked hard to create really special place. Five star

We loved our visit to Allisonia at Amy and Derek’s historic cottage so much we added an extra day at the end! The New River Trail passes by the front yard which was so nice. The property has bikes to use included in the rental and we were fortunate to have great early spring weather to take advantage. Inside the home everything was clean and tidy and the hosts were very responsive. A great stay!

Jack is a great host. My wife and I enjoyed meeting him. He does not live in the BnB but is close by if you need him. He met us at the house and showed us around. The house is beautiful and right on the water. The boat ramp is 3 mins from the house. We will definitely be back!!

This cabin is exactly as described. It looks just like the pictures and the water level of the lake was exactly what they described. This get-a-way was exactly what I needed, kayaks, hammocks, peace and quiet. Driveway is a little tricky/ steep. I would definitely stay here again.

What a great location! The house was clean and tidy, and beds were comfortable. We spent the majority of our time on the dock or in the kayaks (2 one-seater kayaks and life vests of all sizes are provided). Christopher was quick to answer if I messaged with any questions, and was a pleasure to interact with. Zero complaints! Thank you for a great stay!

Really enjoyed our night here. Appreciated the clear instructions and everything is labeled well. The house and area is beautiful, sad it was too rainy to take advantage of the canoes. Would definitely stay here again.

This cabin is a true gem. The location is great as it feels quiet and woodsy but isn’t remote or hard to find. The cabin is well appointed, super clean, and comfortable for two couples even though we only used one of the bedrooms. The kitchen has everything you need and quite a few things you may have forgotten. I’d definitely recommend this cabin and being pet friendly is a plus. Our golden retriever thoroughly enjoyed it and the quick 5 min drive to Hemlock Falls.

This was the best place! We don't live far...only about 30 mins away and we stayed here to have a private vow renewal ceremony with us and our children on the lake. Michelle was so sweet and very helpful. Her place had everything you could want to do! Everything is very thought out at the cabin. I wish it was open this summer when I have vacation time at work because i would stay all week. PERFECT spot to relax, unwind and enjoy nature! 10/10 recommend!

Beautiful lake home. Just as advertised. We really enjoyed staying there for our family vacation. Joanne was a great host always responsive and quickly got back to us with anything we needed.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tim’s cabin. The cabin was easy to find and not too far from anything we needed to get to in town. We enjoyed being on the porch listening to the river & our many naps on the swing. The cabin itself was cozy & great for a couple. Would stay again!

My wife, son, & I loved our stay! We’re semi-local to the area but first time on Whitewater Lake, which we so enjoyed! We got good use out of the kayaks, SUP, and swimming. Also loved grilling and eating up under the gazebo. The turntable was so cool too! Very nostalgic. Tom & Kylie were great and have gem property! We’d love to come back in the future.

This place is just wonderful! The cabin looks even better in person than in the pictures. And smelled amazing haha. The area around the cabin is still somewhat recovering from the Helene floods, but they’ve done a ton of work to get it back to its original state. The springtime will bring back a lot of growth I’m sure The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, which we appreciated. There were amazingly soft robes and blankets to relax in. Easy access to Linville Gorge and its trail system, if you’re looking for hiking in the area We spent probably too much time in the hot tub listening to the water. So relaxing. We will be back again for sure!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rachel's home. The dock over the water was our favorite! She has several seating areas, so no matter the weather (cold, or raining), there is space to be outside if you so choose. We loved all the different spaces throughout the inside and outside of the home - we could tell a lot of thought went into meeting the needs of guests.
