Chalet vacation rentals in Western North Carolina

We were scheduled to stay at this house for a week, but due to Hurricane Helene, we had to evacuate after three days. For the time we were there, the house was very nice and we greatly enjoyed the large living room area. That was definitely the highlight of the home. We would have liked to explore the area more and utilize some of their recommendations, but unfortunately, that was not possible. Would recommend the house to people looking for a large area for people to gather and talk.

It's well worth knowing! Very nice place, it's exactly as the ad describes, close to the center and close to the ski station, very cute and comfortable. The cabin is well preserved and looks new , would come back without a doubt

Came for a short weekend trip and it was absolutely as described! The place felt very clean and well taken care of. Host was very helpful and communicative and was willing to reasonably accommodate our worries of traveling during the winter storm that passed through the day of our check-in, luckily we ended up making it! I would absolutely visit this property again.

We’ve been coming to the area multiple times each year for a long time. This house is our favorite! We will be staying here again and again if it’s available!

Mike is a great host. Very responsive and accommodating. The house is as described. A Very peaceful location, with a great view. This is a perfect place to rest and relax. The hot tub is a great addition to the stay. A+ recommendation!

Stephen’s place in the woods was fantastic. Christmas decorations were an added touch. The hot tub was enjoyed by all. This home was well supplied with all the necessities for a great getaway. Hiking trails galore. City of Helen was close and fun. Truly enjoyed Stephen’s home. You will to !!!

Danny has gone above and beyond in making our stay memorable. He has met not only our expectations but surpassed them. We spent a couple of weeks on the road staying in various places but the Bearfoot Chalet was by far the BEST. I highly recommend to anyone to consider this property if you are near Kingsport or Johnson City TN. Thanks Danny for your assistance in our travel plans.

We loved staying here! There were so many extra touches included everywhere in the house. The kitchen was very well stocked. The hosts were extremely responsive and very kind throughout the whole process. I would definitely love to stay here again!

Tom was extremely responsive any time I reached out to him. The house was spotless when we arrived and has some really great views of the French Broad River as well as some mountains.

Staying at this cabin was a wonderful experience! It’s everything we were looking for and everything that was advertised, being a very warm and cozy cabin that is truly in the mountains. We especially loved the easy-to-use fireplace, the spacious hot tub with an amazing view, and the nice fire pit! Honestly this place is the epitome of what you would expect when booking a cabin in the mountains, and will most likely have everything you are looking for. We were even surprised with a snow day, making our stay much more enjoyable. This place was perfect!

Hosted our annual family get together at this location and it did not dissappoint. Beautiful home and surrounding property. Very quiet and peaceful with very nice hiking trails with elevation on property. Had 5 cars and a motorcycle in our group and had no problem parking. Fire area was very nice and we saw some good sized fish in the pond. Kitchen was well furnished and worked well for our large meals. Grill out back is nice and clean. Used the clubroom for gamenight a few times and had a great time. Love that every room has a balcony, you could lounge on during the morning. All you could hear were the birds or frogs at night. Had to contact the owner about a minor issue and they responded immediately. Highly reccommend this home and these hosts.

Our stay at here was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The home was spotless, well-equipped, and exactly as described in the listing. The highlight of our trip was definitely the heated pool! It was the perfect temperature, making it enjoyable both during the day and at night. Whether we were relaxing after a long day of exploring or starting our mornings with a refreshing swim, the pool was a fantastic feature that made our stay extra special. The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The check-in process was seamless, and all amenities were well-maintained. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with a luxurious heated pool, this is the perfect place. We’ll definitely be returning!

Linda was a fabulous host who stayed in contact to make sure our family had everything we needed. The chalet was comfortable and peaceful for our four night stay - with all the touches of home including hot beverages, seasonal decor, and every kitchen essential you could need. Such a charming spot and gorgeous vintage home! The lower level was so perfect for our kids and for cozy movie night. Bob was an excellent host. We’ll return for sure!

We loved our stay at River Bear, the place was beautiful decorated, comfortable and spacious. The location was closed to restaurant and stores. We will definitely consider staying here again when we return to Pigeon Forge. Thanks Scott for your hospitality!

This was our third time staying there. Very neat and clean. Equipped with everything you need. Peacefully serene with the porch and dock to take in the lake. Will definitely be back again!

Had a great short stay. Karen and Kim were amazing and very helpful. Only issue I had was paying the cleaning fee and then having to do an extensive clean up upon checkout (imo). But other than that, it was lovely!

This was the perfect home for our family during the wedding weekend event. We are considering returning during a warmer time so we can take advantage of the lake and amenities offered. Kitchen was huge. Beds were super comfortable. Water pressure in the showers was amazing. The craftsmanship of the home was top notch. A definite 5 star stay.
