Family-friendly vacation rentals in Wellingborough

Location was excellent for our purposes (in the center of the city, few minutes walking distance from the University, the market and the railway station) The host was a bit slow in responding before arrival in the UK, but issues regarding were resolved upon arrival at the airport. Overall the apartment was in good to excellent condition apart from some issues which were considered minor due to the relative short stay of 8 days. (One window was very tricky to open and close, the freezer needed some defrosting, one of the faucets had a broken drainer, no towels or sheets were changed during the length of our stay)

This is their home and it was lovely and cosy, full of everything we needed to entertain our close family over the weekend. Gorgeous gardens and a bountiful cherry plum tree - great for crumbles and with yoghurt! The instructions were clear verbally and in person, and later in WA messages so we navigated around things easily. Blissful week. Even the Moto GP didn't spoil things - we foolishly hadn't realised it was on during that weekend.

Had a lovely stay in the lodge. Beds comfy, place was clean and luxurious, great to have robes for when utilising the hot tub. Temp of hot tub did unfortunately vary and was cold on first night but soon sorted through instructions from host. Overall a very lovely stay with beautiful views and secluded quiet environment.WiFi a bonus! Lovely touches including bottle of wine, welcome note and folder providing info on local area and places to eat. We enjoyed visiting the foxton locks, the local tearoom and the local market for some lovely fresh produce.

The cutest little staycation. We love trying different things & this was definitely a first for us. The weather let us down a little but we still ventured out & got very muddy but it was all good fun. Back home to the hut for complete relaxation & snuggles. The hosts are super lovely & friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely recommend to friends & family x Thank you Lynden & Andy for being so lovely x

David’s lodge was amazing. Great views, location and easy directions to find. He was very accommodating and very friendly when we saw him and recommendations to local pubs and places to visit. Fantastic hot tub and warm lodge! Especially as below freezing outside and snow laying. It was forecast heavy snow the last night of our stay, which he kindly offered for us to stay for longer if needed! Lovely gesture. Could not thank him or recommend him and his place enough! Will revisit in summer!

Had an amazing few days with my children and grandchildren We had some quality time together it was really cold but the rooms were nice and warm, we used all the facilities and went out a couple of the days but just wanted to get back to the fire pit where we toasted marshmallows, we brought all the ingredients to make our own pizza’s white and spend a couple of hours each day playing games in the bar, then the hot tub with all the bigger children it was an amazing start to our Christmas Fred communicated throughout and even brought us extra towels, I can’t speak highly enough of the whole experience it was magical Thank you Fred and Charlotte you were extremely accommodating we will definitely be back in the summer 🎄🎅🎁🎄🥰

A delightful cottage nestling behind the high street of Kimbolton. Tastefully decorated befitting its historical Listed Building Status and both warm and comfortable. I stayed for many weeks and was sad to leave. I would highly recommend both the cottage and its host Rebecca who made my stay so enjoyable.

Stayed for a week during a house move and needed somewhere restful and comfortable during a stressful time. Manton Lodge Farm was just that. The views across countryside were beautiful and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. We were so glad we'd chosen to stay there and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit beautiful Rutland. Huge thank you to both Hugh and Emma!

I’d highly recommend The Hayloft. The property exceeded our expectations and the pictures really don’t do it justice. The space was warm, comfortable and everything we needed was provided. The bathroom is really lovely, well lit ( a real bonus in my opinion as so many bathrooms have terrible lighting), the bath is deep and comfortable, the shower powerful with plenty of hot water. The bed was very comfortable too. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. We loved the location which is really peaceful and set in beautiful countryside. There are walks directly from the property and it was a joy to see the goats, pigs and chickens in the barn nearby. A really lovely bonus was to have delicious local bread, homemade jam and mince pies, biscuits,milk and butter provided. There was also a bottle of champagne , festive flowers and a lovely little Christmas tree which made it all the more special.

Perfect place to relax! So comfortable, cosy and peaceful. Very homely and wonderful hosts! We enjoyed walking to Foxton Locks which is not far and seeing their lovely horses and dogs. I highly recommend that you stay here!

Overall, accommodation was great and everything went well. Things that I would like to point out. List of amenities these things are not correct. 1. Carbon monoxide alarm for the fireplace. The bedroom is not operational which is a hazard. 2. Coffee machine was not there. We asked and we were kindly given a jar instant coffee. 3. Outdoor to dining area doesn't exist. there is ourdoor furniture but not a dining area. 4. Outdoor kitchen doesn't exist either. They are correct, there is a BBQ as mentioned on the amenities , but that is not a outdoor kitchen. 5. I understand there is no Wi-Fi available. Which would I was okay with as I have 50GB of data. What I was not aware is that the location is in a virtually a signal dead zone there was one spot that we had to go to , if we wanted to receive our Whats-App messages. I would see this as an important thing to mention to people. Lastly , we had the lovely couple who lived at the corner who were available when we needed to ask questions.

Kathryn was very helpful and friendly. The place was just perfect: very clean, cosy, well equipped kitchen. There's a woodland 5 mins down the road, a few farms shops and plenty of nice walks in the area. I wish we could have stayed longer...

My boys and I had a wonderful stay at Barley Cottage. Stephen and Philip are amazing hosts, super friendly, very knowledgeable of the area and great conversation. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The beds were super comfy and the shower was great. Water Newton is an idyllic little village just a stones throw from Peterborough, but a world away! We loved every minute of our time there.

Patricia's home is lovely, warm and cozy. We booked at the last minute so that our family could spend Christmas together. We appreciated the lovely welcome and provision of staples like milk, butter, tea, coffee, juice and also crusty bread. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a full Christmas dinner with ease. Patricia had even gone to the trouble to decorate her home for Christmas for us, which was very special. We all enjoyed our time together there. It is a bonus to have a full bathroom and an extra toilet for a family, too. The setting in the park is peaceful and welcoming and there are nice walks around the woods and lakes; our dog loved it, too. This is a wonderful place to stay in every way and Patricia is a very thoughtful and accommodating host. Thank you!

We stayed for a couple of nights close to Christmas, wonderful stay in this beautiful period home, with the village looking very pretty and festive. Having use of a sauna and pool, while it was frosty outside; made our stay particularly enjoyable!

Zuzana was a lovely host, she made us feel comfortable and was very friendly. The studio, pool and hot tub are incredible, very peaceful place, very clean and beautiful. My friends would like to return with their children. 100% we do recommend this place

This place is perfect for a quiet getaway. The hosts are fantastic and the lovely warm pool is great to play in with the kids. You can even go fishing at the end of their garden ( which I took full advantage of!!) or just relax with a glass of wine and sit looking over the river. We look forward to returning next year.

Stephen is amazing, personable, responsive, ready with helpful actionable suggestions if you need them . The place itself is on a beautiful , riverside property, with beautifully maintained garden, swimming pool. It is 10 minutes drive from Peterborough and 25 minutes form Stomford, and has many trails and walks around that you can explore.
