Hotel vacation rentals in Sugar Mountain

Being a first time user of airbnb , Im sold and airbnb will be my go to from here forward for any travel.. the ease of reservation and check in/ check out ... very smooth! I literally paid online , then drove to the door of the place and punched in a code and we were home away from home. So easy , no front desk , just such a great way to travel with your family and friends. But the best part was "D.J." , after reading the responses left on airbnb sites , DJ was the contributing factor to my stay. I look forward to future family trips to Boone more often b/c of DJ's personal and professional timeliness and friendliness. D.J. Thanks again my friend , will talk to you soon

The place was even more beautiful than the pictures and the instructions given by DJ were excellent. One small thing of note is that there are some road closures in the area to be mindful of if you are traveling here in the near future. My girlfriend and I would absolutely book here again the next time that we visit the area. PS: The Gamekeeper at the top of the hill above the Inn was excellent too. We had already eaten so we just had drinks at the bar but the service, recommendations, and atmosphere were all top notch

Great spot for a long weekend getaway. Beautiful view. Very comfy accommodations. Had everything I needed. Very quick to respond. I would definitely stay again!

First off I do want to say the actual room and accommodations were great. I should have researched the location more however as when the snowstorm actually hit, the location of the room is on some crazy narrow and treacherous back roads with little to no snow removal. I was attempting to use this room as an easy jumping off place for all the skiing in Western North Carolina and I think under other circumstances it probably would have been great. Its important to note I feel that its not a like fully functioning hotel, so when i got snowed in Friday night I was fortunate to have brought a ton of food just to not be insanely uncomfortable. The roads were still so bad the next day I just fully skipped going back the second night and ate the extra cost so I wouldn't get stuck. I really did enjoy the room and the crazy roomy bed but like as an overall experience not great but really 0 fault of that is the host or the room. Thanks DJ!

I stayed here for a girls weekend/ski trip and it was the perfect for our needs! Parking and access were easy, amenities were great and the beds were so comfy! We’d absolutely stay here again.

So John’s place is a hostel. I am very familiar with hostile style, communal living quarters. I have been to this place a few times .Thr location is convenience to the Appalachian Trail .The on-site bar and eatery just makes it a great place to hang my hat for a night and enjoy some very friendly,fun and kind , local folks.

Our stay was fantastic! Erin was extremely responsive and helpful! Loved the location, super peaceful and exactly what we were look for. Very close to Boone, NC and Appalachian Ski Resort which made our traveling super easy. The home itself was gorgeous and very clean. The tablet with all of the recommendations and tutorials on things in the house was really helpful and Erin was great to interact with. Would definitely recommend!

Erin was a wonderful host and the suit was absolutely lovely!

We had a blast staying at the Wanderer! Everything was exactly as described and looked just like the pictures. We brought our two young children with us and they loved the big bunkbeds and doing art in the office. They also said the waffle maker made the best waffles. The App ski mountain is right down the street and the house is strategically located right between downtown Boone and blowing rock. Erin was wonderful and always responsive. We will return!
