We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Abbots Moss. It was last minute (same day booking) and everything was ready and in order. The house was definitely a home away from home which is exactly what I am looking for. We have two children and a very well behaved golden - all loved the location and the house. The grounds and lake are exquisite and so peaceful. The lounge area was beautifully decorated with sofas I would purchase for my own home. Linens are also something I look for and the beds were all lovely. We enjoyed the area, eating out at some local recommendations, visiting Hadrian's Wall, completing our first family Wainwright summit! Thank you Tamar. We would love to return!

Perfect stay! The home is absolutely spotless and so cosy. We all really enjoyed the hot tub and the views across the lake. The home is really big and was perfect for 2 couples a baby. The kitchen had absolutely everything you need. Abi is a brilliant host and communication was great! Would love to come back again xx

Stayed for 2 nights. Beautiful house, very warm and cosy. Spotlessly clean and tidy. We stayed during the storm but we will definitely come back in the summer as the garden is amazing. Mark was a brilliant host, kept in touch and very quick to answer any queries we had. I would recommend staying here lovely walk around the lake which is about a 5 minute walk away. No complaints whatsoever.

Stunning house, beautifully decorated. Very comfortable and warm. Perfect location to access Appleby in minutes and convenient for local beauty spots. The hot tub was a real treat! There were a couple of minor issues which were discussed with the host and acknowledged. Very happy with our stay and would definitely return.

Our stay at Bells View was one where life long memories were made. The house was incredible, spacious, clean and perfect location in Kippford. The hosts were friendly and engaging. I can’t recommend this property enough. Will definitely use again

Had a really fabulous couple of nights away at the Servants Wing at Claughton Hall for a pre Christmas break. The accommodation was even nicer than the photos and decorated for Christmas with some tasteful decorations and a real Christmas tree and twinkly lights. So lovely to walk into. Could not have been more welcoming. Super comfy beds. A lovely Sunday roast at the local pub (the Fenwick Arms) and lovely to return to hunker down in front of the fire. Sam super quick to answer any questions. We can’t wait to return!

This was our second time staying at the property for our annual Christmas get away with friends. We could not ask for more. The property was spotless and has all the amenities needed. From the pool table, karaoke machine and hot tub, these kept us entertained throughout a weekend of bad weather. Would not hesitate to stay again and look forward to booking our next stay here.

We were able to arrive early to set up prior to the bday girl arriving and we had a later check out too. Great main room, lots of space, comfy sofas. Bathrooms were clean, water was hot and had good pressure. Double beds are pretty small but comfortable. Everything we needed was provided.

Absolutely perfect stay! The location in Bowness-on-Windermere is unbeatable, surrounded by stunning scenery and just a short walk to everything we needed. The property itself was beautifully furnished with so much attention to detail—every room felt luxurious and inviting. The host was incredibly responsive and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. The house was stocked with more than enough supplies, It was the ideal getaway, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and hassle-free stay!

Great location and beautiful home. House is stacked with anything you need for a holiday in Windermere regardless of weather. Kitchen is excellent, Bedrooms are spacious and multiple bathrooms makes it ideal for several families to share the home.

Sandown House made our summer visit to the Lake District enjoyable. Space for our immediate family and extended family and friends. We nicknamed it the upside down house because the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the kitchen and living rooms on the top floor. Plenty of parking, walking distance to all that Bowness-on-Windermere has to offer. We think the on suite bathrooms are tiny, but we are tall people (6’and 6’4”) other than that plenty of space to stretch out. Lovely welcome hamper upon our arrival added a nice touch from the owners.

Thank you Carole for a lovely stay. There were 5 of us from 5years old to 85 years old and we all had a fantastic stay. So nice to come in to a treat basket! Ducks on site which my little boy absolutely loved. Neighbors were friendly and welcoming. A great base for exploring the lakes and surrounding area. Thank you!

Really was a stunning location. If you want some real downtime and beautiful views, this is the place. Better than described and the photos don’t really do the view justice. Well L certainly be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Halfpenny Cottage. The cottage was warm, homey and had everything we needed and more. Lewis was an excellent host, really easy to get in touch with and quick to get back to you. The location was absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. The cafe next door did an amazing breakfast and cakes. We will definitely come back!

A beautiful find in a great spot. Craig was a marvellous and responsive host who made us welcome and we could not have had a nicer time!

Very comfortable place to stay, very close to shops. Had everything we needed. My only criticism was the sensor lights on ceiling for far too bright for the guests sleeping on the top floor. Woke them up every time someone went to the bathroom.

A superb airbnb house, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Everything felt fresh and comfortable, including beds, sofas, towels, kitchen utensils and bathrooms. Holly is attentive and made us feel extremely welcome and well looked-after. The house is in a lovely quiet street, within easy walking distance of Fairhaven Lake (great for children) and train station. Booths is nearby, so easy to stock up on some great quality food. Ansdell Institute is very child-friendly and walkable for a good, traditional breakfast. Drive into Blackpool is easy, where there is plenty of traditional entertainment for the little ones - donkey rides on the beach, Blackpool Tower, fair on the pier, early evening illuminations, chips on the prom, etc. Glad to return to the quiet of Kingsway House though! The house is warm, light and well-equipped, making it an excellent place for an autumn break. Would be very happy to stay in mid-winter too, as it is so cosy and welcoming!

Annabel is a great person and very helpful. She suggested few places to visit, which comes out worthy to visit. She is very responsive with all of our questions. I definitely want to visit this place again soon. It’s a perfect getaway from crowds and spend some time with nature without any disturbances.

Beautiful house with lovely decorations/ extra touches such as candles, cosy blankets etc. The log burner made the house feel cosy and there was plenty of logs provided. The kitchen/dining area was very well equiped with plenty of plates etc. There were also lots of extras provided such as washing up liquid, bin bags, tea, coffee, sugar etc. The only thing we needed to buy was some dishwasher tablets. The bathroom was probably the one area that wasn't 5 star as the hot tap handle kept falling off. The shower was also very noisy and leaked so this could only be used when everyone was awake (if you have any older members in your party they will probably need to use the ensuite shower as the shower in the bathroom is over the bathtub which has very high sides so is tricky to get in/ out of). Overall a beautiful house in a tranquil setting. Thank you.
