Vacation rentals in São Miguel Island

Our stay was perfect for enjoying the peace & serenity of the ocean while still being close enough to explore the island. The house in Maia provided an ideal location—the drive to almost everything within 30 minutes. The island of Sao Miguel is breathtaking! Every area is so different from another, the Nordeste waterfalls, to the hot springs in Furnas, & the craters of Sete Cidades and of course the ocean views from so many outlooks & the best from this airbnb! The Airbnb was exactly as shown in the pictures, well-equipped with everything we needed. Though it was too cold in March to swim in the ocean or the pool, falling asleep to the sound of the waves and enjoying the view of Maia’s lights was magical. One tip: Maia is a quiet town, & during our visit in March, dining out on weekends wasn’t an option—all the restaurants were closed. As advised, shop for groceries on your way. We did and had dinner in 5 out of 6 nights. Sara was the perfect host! We highly recommend Eirinhas!

We rented this house and the two adjoining apartments for a group of our friends joining from Europe and the US. It was the perfect size to host 15 of us and provided the right space for our group to gather before and after exploring Sao Miguel. We found the adjoining apartments especially helpful for hosting such a large group - giving everyone a bit of privacy at the same time as allowing for everyone to spend time together. Also, having the large number of bathrooms added for ease and comfort of everyone. There is a nice large lawn in the back, however, it is shared as a common area with other nearby homes. The secure parking across the street was a great bonus given the narrow streets. Easy enough to walk into town and a convenient location to drive to other Sao Miguel attractions. Also, the bonus of having a large grocery across the street for supplies. Note that this building, on the West side of town, is directly in the flight path of the airport -- flights start at 6AM

This AirBnB was perfect! It was very clean and everything was exactly like it was described. Duarte was very nice as well and left us some muffins and tea in the table when we checked in. She also organised a taxi back to the airport for us. I can really recommend this AirBnB!

I've stayed in hundreds of airbnbs and this was definitely one of the best. Even though it was just two of us, there was plenty of room for much larger groups. The apartment is centrally located and less than a 10 minute walk to the town and the beach. We had no issues finding parking in front of the apartment. The wifi worked great (~136Mbps) for two digital nomads that needed to have reliable internet. Guido was very accommodating and helpful. The kitchen was well stocked. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Ponta Delgada

This place was great! It sits directly across from the ocean and the waking/bike path. We walked, even at night, and felt safe. We rented a car. Parking was tight but we were able to park next to the apartment. We would definitely stay again!

Ricardo’s place was delightful! Very well kept, getting to use the pool with the spectacular ocean view was a huge bonus, and the location was a great jumping off point to everywhere on the island from east to west to south. We were sad to leave and wish we had booked longer!

Very nice local house, has everything necessary inside. Host was very friendly and gave lots of local recommendations. House is located in quite neighbourhood with some beautiful views. Perfect if you travel by car, because makes good staring point to explore eastern part of the island.

Had a great stay! The place was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. Check-in was smooth, and the host was super responsive and helpful. Loved the quiet neighborhood and easy access to local spots. Would definitely book again!

I was amazed when we checked in. Banana trees right off our patio. The grounds are extensive and so many fruit trees and berries growing everywhere. Just wandering around was so peaceful and beautiful. Many chickens and plenty of eggs we were encouraged to eat. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful with suggestions on where to visit. I hope to go back next year and will work around their availability. My go to place to stay and I will be recommending it to anyone I know that’s visiting Sao Miguel. Andre has a beautiful home and the location is amazing at the edge of the lake in Sete Cidades! The views from the livingroom, dining room and front porch were amazing of the lake and surrounding mountains! There are many hiking paths to walk to and/ or bike to and/or drive your car to. We just loved all the wood tables, countertop and carvings. Beautiful! The home was well appointed, comfortable and perfect on the lake! There is a very delicious bread kitchen to get fresh out of the oven bread. We were provided with an amazing welcoming basket of goodies that included yogurts, granola, milk, butter, local rosemary honey, local sweet rolls, local pineapple, apples, oranges, local cheese and a bottle of wine!!!! And to top it all off there are bikes and kayaks to use! Definitely recommend staying at Andre’s home!

Perfect villa for two couples to spend amazing vacation on Azores. Villa had everything you need with beautiful interior and exterior. Host was amazing and helpful, shared local recommendations and gave us local treats to try it out ( did not have this experience before on Airbnb ) Waterfront location with a promenade for a morning run, absolutely wonderful.

This place was even more beautiful in person than the photos! Such a lovely spot right on the water with incredible views!! Spotless, with everything you need! Centrally located on the island and easy to drive to all areas you want to explore! The stairs are steep and probably not great for unfit/ elderly but easy and perfect for young couple! I can’t recommend this place enough! Amazing!

This was our second stay at Rita and Nuno’s place because we loved it so much! Comfortable, clean and very beautiful. Perfect for four people. We cooked meals at home and had everything we needed and the walk to Ponta Delgada is flat and peaceful along the water. It’s centrally located and was easy for us to explore all corners of the island. Highly recommend.

I can’t say enough positive things about the stay I had, everyone that worked with Monica made me feel like family, anything I needed I sent them a message and they responded immediately and took care of it all. They brought fresh breakfast every morning with juice and milk, and asked every night what time I needed it and if it was going to be an early morning, they put it out the night before for me. The marina is private, the boat is completely safe, spacious, clean and one of a kind. There are restaurants, food trucks, grocery stores, shops and really anything yoy need within a 10 minute walk. I will definitely be back and I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.
