Charming design house in Montijo with garden - 41

Very nice unit. Two bedrooms w/nice bathrooms w/showers. Main bedroom is upstairs, but the stairwell is wide & not steep. All appliances are modern. Efficient mini-split units for cooling. While there is no view, there is plenty of natural light into the unit & a shared, landscaped courtyard to act as an oasis. It is a good location to walk to restaurants, etc. We used Bolt rides to go to the Lisbon ferry & to the Lisbon Oriente train station. There were plenty of Bolt drivers close by. The ferry to Lisbon takes 20 minutes. My only negative comment is that you can hear cars go by on the one-way road out front, traffic is pretty consistent, & there is a clanking sound if they drive over the manhole cover just right. The noise didn’t bug us too much. It seems indicative of housing in a downtown area. It would be worse in the first floor bedroom. In every other way, this was a very nice unit. And Sandra was great to work with.

Clean place. Host is responsive and gave clear instructions. Place is good if you like the surroundings but a bit far away from Lisbon. Good place to stay.

Jewelry of the Tagus Alcochete

NikolayRating, 5 stars3 months ago
I stayed for a month and loved it. Alcochete is a nice little town. A small house; works for two, four would be a crowd. Excellent internet, that was important for me. A pretty good bakery literally fifty feet away. Many good restaurants close by. Good access to Lisbon via bus. I did a side trip to Faro, took a bus to Pinhal Novo + from there high-speed train to Faro. There’s a direct bus to Setúbal, a nice day trip. Sintra is about two hours away, bus to Lisboa Oriente + local train. Owner’s agent, Victoria, is very responsive. Highly recommended.
