Family-friendly vacation rentals in Saltburn-by-the-Sea

Firstly wow! The area in which this little cottage is set is beautiful, tranquil and private and has an enclosed garden for mine and my sister’s dogs. The welcome hamper was the best we’ve ever had with so many goodies in! Lots of local dog walks around the area and hotel grounds and we even found a waterfall after a heavy rainfall which was a lovely surprise. The cottage was clean and all beds made up, towels were provided too. Log fire and wood fired pizza oven and hot tub were so welcome on a foggy day when we were unable to travel. Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss but not a real problem. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Only negative was only 2 windows open. We loved the fact we were surrounded by nature and birdsong and would have loved to have the windows open to make the most of this. Wouldn’t put us off going again as there are so many other areas we didn’t get to explore around there.

Beautiful cosy place, we even had a Christmas tree which was a lovely touch.

Lovely accommodation. Comfy beds. Clean. Just a few more plates and dishes would be useful. Fab hot tub. Would recommend

The perfect spot to explore North Yorkshire ! Runswick Bay was a great place to walk the cockapoo. I recommend The Tiger Inn for dinner ! We had a lovely time and the cosy living room with wood burner stove was nice to relax after long walks. Thank you !

Very comfortable w/e in an immaculate and well appointed property. So close to Staithes yet out of the hustle and bustle with views across open countryside. Would definitely rebook.

What a great place! Nice quiet area, both myself my mum and my dog loved this trip. All the things you need were present, great kitchen and lovely spacious lounge/bedrooms.

Had a great stay at the cottage. The location was perfect for exploring Whitby. The photos did not actually do it justice, the finish was fantastic as were the little touches and unique decor. It had everything we needed and we didn't even have to bring the kitchen roll we packed or buy any salt and vinegar, it makes things so much easier not having to pack the basics for self catering when travelling. Would stay again and recommend highly to anyone else.

Stayed for 2 nights with 10 friends and we all fit really well. There is a great social space on the 1st floor, the local pub, chippy and pizza place were amazing and the walks along the cliffs were easily accessible. The hosts were really responsive and flexible, and made us at home with a really cool welcome basket + essentials like milk, bread, etc. Would definitely stay again, Staithes village was so beautiful and the Photographers house was a perfect base.

Great location for golf and sea front lots nice restaurants too

Felt really welcome at Carol's. The weather was really miserable so we stayed inside and just chilled in front of the fire. watched some movies and we were warm and cosy. Carol was very gracious to not rush us out at check in as she had no other guests checking in. we appreciated the friendliness. would really like to go back again.

Perfect venue for a few days exploring Whitby with our two boys and their grandparents. Loads of space, extremely comfortable, gorgeous bathrooms, lovely views end a nice walk into the main areas of Whitby. Highly recommend!

Fabulous house for our family to catch up and spend time together Clean and well presented. Private secure garden for our dogs Great amenities. Handy to walk into the centre of Helmsley for a range of restaurants. Walks from the house. Never drove anywhere all weekend. Will return

A fabulous house in a fabulous location just a few minutes walk from the centre of Whitby. Very spacious house for a big crowd. Kitchen well stocked with lots of crockery, cutlery, pans, glasses etc and huge table for everyone to comfortable sit at. We've all had an amazing time, highly recommend Lea's house and will definitely book again.

Lovely cottage with beautiful views, and just a short drive away from Scarborough. It was a wonderful place for a little get away!

I ended up doing a solo trip with the dogs and I felt very safe and comfortable on my own. The cottage was clean and cosy. The large Porch is a great design to have an area for drying off coats / boots and with the hot tub. Love the field walks, it’s so nice to be able to have somewhere just a short walk from the accommodations where dogs can be let off lead. Very satisfied with this stay, would recommend to friends and family and I would definitely like to visit again one day. Thank you for a pleasant stay x

We had a wonderful week at Apple Cottage for October half term. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything we needed for our little family (2 adults, 8year old daughter and a dog). Parking with the cottage is great as it does get busy in the little car park down the road. The beaches are all walkable as are the local shop and lovely restaurants and pubs… although the walk back up the hill is a steep one! We had a great time flying kites and finding fossils of the beach! Would love to visit again.
