Cottage vacation rentals in Rutland Water

We stayed in Oak Cottage at Elms Farm Cottages and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. Carol was a fantastic host - very communicative, flexible and helpful and the cottage was perfect - very comfortable and with excellent amenities - all the small things taken care of. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back one day.

Adam was a wonderful host and his place was lovely. The garden is a real feature and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a family getaway. The house itself has a really lovely rustic / farmhouse type vibe and is well set up for people to come and stay in. The hot tub was unavailable during our stay unfortunately, but that didn't stop us having a great time.

This Cottage was the perfect little stay for two at Christmas! Beautiful and peaceful surroundings, felt completely private in the countryside was blissful!

Thank you so much Rodalyn and Ali, we had a great couple of days staying for a family wedding. after a gruelling bank holiday Monday drive from Cornwall, we were all really tired when we arrived, and the treats and food/ drinks you left were really appreciated. a gem of a place to stay, very private. read the instructions for parking your cars, they are invaluable. thanks so much both x

We had a lovely time the place was clean, homey and spacious, we played games watched tv and did some cooking in the very well equipped kitchen! Loved the hot tub it was relaxing and the perfect touch. A lovely place indeed! Would have loved to meet the dog but will have to see next time ☺️ Thankyou Andrew and Sarah x

Wonderful spacious property in beautiful surroundings. Very comfortable beds & a super cosy lounge with open fire for which plenty of wood & coal was provided. The weather was blowing a gale & raining the whole weekend but my friends & I felt cosy & sheltered from the storm in this home from home. The property is very clean & well maintained. Extremely welcoming, accommodating & friendly hosts who greeted us on arrival & immediately responded to a couple of queries we had during our stay.

We had a lovely stay at Jo’s beautiful, cosy cottage. Jo was really friendly and thoughtfully left tea, coffee, milk etc. I would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful peaceful location. Short drive into Stamford for pubs and shops. Lovely log burner for a cold January night. Owners sent lots of helpful advice for things to do in the area. We loved the tandem!!!

Was beautiful home and spotlessly clean, fire and underfloor heating so was lovely and warm. Very comfy and well presented

We had a wonderful time at Angela's farm! The kids absolutely loved walking through the fields and seeing the sheep, horses, and chickens. Angela was incredibly lovely and welcoming, making our stay feel so special. We visited in December, and I was initially concerned about the cold, but the underfloor heating kept us cozy throughout our stay. The thoughtful touch of having a Christmas tree up when we arrived made it feel extra festive and like a true home away from home.

My 2nd stay at the cottage. Very clean on arrival and spent a relaxing time whilst working in the area. Thanks again Hannah, ill be seeing you again.

The cottage is lovely but the location ..for me it was outstanding. Beautiful countryside and immaculately cared for grounds and fields. Im a country girl so it was perfection. Everything we needed was supplied and the log burner kept us warm. All the places we wanted to visit were easily accessible with Foxton Locks being just a mile away. Beautiful villages surround Gumby. Cant recommend highly enough.

We stayed at honeypot cottage for New Year’s Eve. The cottage is super cute and is decorated beautifully. We appreciated the welcome biscuits! The village is very peaceful with great walks from the front door. We walked to the swan with two nicks and it was a lovely walk with great food at the end! We struggled to get and keep the cottage warm and there is no way we could have done it without the log burner so worth bearing in mind if you’re renting in the winter! It’s also worth noting for those bringing dogs that the garden is not accessible directly from the cottage. You have to go through next doors courtyard which is easy enough, but just a bit of a pain if you have a dog like ours who refused to toilet in the courtyard 😅 Simon and Caroline responded quickly to our messages before our arrival but left thorough notes for us, so we didn’t have the need to contact them during our stay. I have no doubt that they would have been helpful!

We have been spoiled with excellent country retreats these last few years, but this one is standout. The quality of every aspect of the house is exceptional. Hosts kindly let us host family Christmas dinner there and we wanted for nothing when cooking. Even baked us a cake for our arrival. Top quality place and hosting. Thoroughly recommend.

Another fantastic easy stay at Kirsty’s cottage. I was competing at Arena UK and our 3.5tn lorry fits in the car park. Great location and only a few minutes back to the venue. Cottage warm and tidy with nice touches. Hopefully be back again next year!

A fantastic little place to get away for a few days. Very clean, everything you could need. Beautiful surroundings (you will need a car to get anywhere), responsive host, and a great little break for us. Would happily return.

This stay was massively important to me, as it was for my groomsmen and I to spend the night before my wedding. Simon & Charlotte couldn't have been more responsive and accommodating, and really put me at ease at every point. The property was clean, well looked-after and in very pretty, private surroundings. It was perfect for what we needed.

Another lovely stay at Gareth and Kim’s cottage. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful spot right in the centre of town. They are great hosts and coming to stay is a real treat!
