Our cozy cottage is the perfect romantic getaway or quiet retreat in any season. Located on a private rd with scenic waterfront view. Guests can enjoy sitting on the dock (May- October) or the jetty, watch the eagles and Osprey, use our kayaks, do some fishing, walking or biking. Sit by the propane fueled fireplace on a chilly night. Brunswick, home of Bowdoin College and a # of great restaurants and unique shops is just 5 mi. Travel by bus or train to/from Boston. Cozy cottage on Graham Lake. Sleeps up to 5 people. But keep in mind the cottage is very small and would be tight for 5 adults. It’s more suited for 2-3 adults, or a small family. Imagine coffee on the deck with a view of the lake. Bring your canoe and fishing pole, or browse the shops and restaurants in downtown Ellsworth. If you like the outdoors, there’s plenty to do. The area is filled with hiking trails and beautiful views. Just 45 minutes from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.

Dan's cottage provided everything that the three of us needed for our weekend stay. We enjoyed a walk on the nearby beach, and were able to explore the city of Belfast, which is charming and artsy. If we'd had more time we would have checked out more restaurants, galleries, and shops. There was a great food co-op in town where we picked up meals and snacks for cozy dinners and board games at the cottage. The beds were comfy, the place was clean, and it was about a one hour drive to Acadia National Park where we spent most of our time while we were in Maine.

Being at Carole's place was a total pleasure. If I could, I'd spend a lot of time living on a boat, and this was about as close as possible to that experience, only much more comfortable. I loved being able to see all that was going on in the bay - a lobster boat with a happy dog aboard, a kayak - but mostly birds, including a few visits from a couple of Bald Eagles. For anyone who enjoys nature and privacy, this place is heaven.

This place exceeded our expectations. Listing photos don’t do it justice. Whole back of the house, from end to end, is windows looking out at that fantastic view, and the open space (kitchen, dining, living room all in one) made it feel airy and spacious, despite its small size. It manages to combine an old-world quaintness and hominess, reminiscent of centuries past cabins, with modern amenities (updated bathroom, great kitchen sink, fully functioning windows with great screens and shades). Nice ceiling fans in the living room and a bedroom, additional fans available (not listed in the amenities)- we were quite comfortable, despite no AC. Labeled light switches were great.Glad we brought a camp table- allowed us to eat on the deck. Not much outdoor furniture provided. Table and umbrella would be nice. Grill was not functioning and didn’t get fixed while we were there. Not as quiet as hoped, noise from road a bit distracting. Swimming at high tide was fantastic. Nature watching joy!

We enjoyed the cottage. It was clean, comfortable and as described. We had some difficulty figuring out how to use heating and later with TV. Jeff responded quickly with clear guidance on both. Followed up with us throughout the visit to be sure we had everything we needed.

The cottage was cozy, clean and comfortable. Peaceful surroundings, can see the ocean and inlet with the lobster boats leaving and bringing in their catches, the location was perfect for day trips to other surrounding towns. We met Susan and her sweet dog, she was very nice and friendly, had suggestions of places to see , do and restaurants in the area. Overall it was a wonderful experience, would definitely recommend.

Loons Rest was the perfect get away spot for our 40th anniversary. We were lucky to enjoy the swimming dock in mid September as the daytime temperatures were in the upper 70's to low 80's. The lake was pristine and was warm enough for swimming still. We enjoyed watching and hearing the loons as well as the eagles and kingfishers. We loved the outdoor fire pit when the evenings turned cool as well as the indoor fireplace which is a work of art! Also the was plenty of well seasoned firewood. Everything about this place is very well thought out. If they don't have it you don't need it! The kitchen was well equipped and we were happy to find that there was everything we needed to prepare pizzas to cook on our solo stove pizza oven that we had brought along! John is a great host and responded quickly to any questions we had. Would highly recommend Loons Rest to anyone who is looking for a peaceful and relaxing spot to vacation.
