Guesthouse vacation rentals in River Tamar

Stayed for four 3 nights for a conference, then Sam kindly let me extend one more night to enjoy Cornwall more! Responsive, detail-oriented host. Appreciated ironing and cooking facilities. Flat has everything you need :) Only negative was that I felt a bit unsafe walking home from the train station at night. Nothing bad happened, just some people drinking and arguing around the town centre (I guess that's what you get when all the pubs are closed in the off season?). Good location and safe street otherwise.

We loved our stay at the Pigsty! Set in a gorgeous location, it was cosy, quiet and comfortable and we felt very much ‘at home’. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, and Nicky gave clear instructions and helpful advice on the local area. The accommodation was very clean and well equipped. We stayed here as a base to explore Cornwall by car, but it is close to the coastal walk-the fishing village of Portloe is in easy walking distance. We enjoyed sitting in the garden for dinner, watching the sun set and the moon rising over the ocean. Next time we will stay longer!

Excellent location and hosts. Beautiful, Serene surroundings. Peaceful and quiet. Hosts Valerie and Tony were wonderful and so was their property. Beautifully set up and decorated, including some photographs taken by Tony himself. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and quiet stay. A bit far from the usual places, meaning you will need your own transportation. But well worth it. Look forward to staying there again

We booked a really last minute holiday and arrived within a few hours of booking. The place was absolutely beautiful and so many comfortable places to chill around the house. The location was perfect as well, just what we were after! One of the best holidays we've had as a family!

We had a lovely relaxing stay to bring in the New Year at The Hide. Very cosy and we loved the uniqueness of your place. The hosts were super friendly and we were welcomed with homemade bread which was delicious. Thank you for a perfect start to the new year :)

Our second stay at the Cart House. Comfy, cosy, spotless and the perfect location for our vist to see family and have a restful weekend away from it all. Sam is the perfect host, and made sure our stay was everything we hoped it would be. Well definitely be back for another stay soon! Highly recommend.

Had an amazing stay at the piggery, felt right at home. Michelle and Richard were very welcoming and answered any questions we had very quickly. Place was beautiful inside and out and had everything you need for a relaxing break, highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at lavender cottage. James was the best host. He regularly check in on us and made sure we were happy and gave us some info about local area. We visited over Easter bank holiday and there were 3 crème eggs in the welcome basket which pleased us all and made it have a personal touch. The cottage was cosy and clean and was nicely situated within the village. There was also an outside loop which meant we could look up our bikes securely. We also were able to stay an extra night meaning our daughter was able to have a riding lesson near Perranporth. All in all a great trip and we recommend the local area/cottage and hosts as they were great. Many thanks to James and his family from the Cunningham’s

We enjoyed our stay with our one year old son. The accommodation is in peaceful countryside, but it is still easy to access the north and south coast beaches and villages if you have a car. There is also a nice shopping centre nearby with everything you’d need. The hosts are friendly and helpful. They recommended going to the Hidden Hut for some food and that was one of our highlights. Accommodation has all the essentials. Appreciated the good quality cot, high chair and baby toys and books as well. The cot was in the bedroom by the bathroom. There is a thick curtain between the lounge/kitchen and bedroom so we could relax and eat dinner after the baby went to bed which was great. Thanks for a lovely stay Lucie!

We had a lovely time at John and Barbara’s place. They were fabulous hosts. The cottage was a welcoming, tranquil and picturesque getaway. It was perfect for our pooch, with a safe, enclosed and private garden and a paddock to explore. The cottage was very comfortable and had lovely views from the patio and lounge. It made a very convenient base for exploring the delights of North Cornwall. The local swimming pool is a ten minute walk away, an added bonus!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Our accommodation was amazing. The hot-tub experience at night under the stars was exceptional. Frank was an amazing host who made us feel very welcome and gave us amazing recommendations for Dartmoor national park. Would definitely stay here again :)

Heather and Rob were great hosts and The Snuggery was beautiful. Exceeded our expectations. We loved all the little extras, the afternoon tea, eggs and especially the bathrobes. Such peaceful surroundings we didn't want to leave. Will definitely recommend.

My Dad, Daughter and I had the most wonderful weekend stay at this beautifully designed barn. The layout makes fantastic use of the space, and the large windows and doors offer breathtaking views of the surrounding grounds—open fields, trees, and wildflowers as far as the eye can see. Waking up to birdsong and heading down to feed the chickens was such a lovely touch. The barn itself was spotlessly clean and exceptionally well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The log burner made for cozy evenings, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the rain shower and deep bath were pure luxury. The kitchen and dining area had everything you needed for cooking and entertaining. And, of course, the hot tub—an absolute highlight—was the perfect way to both start and end the day. Our host was fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Nothing was too much trouble. This place is an absolute gem, and we can’t wait to return!

The coach house was beautiful and perfect for the family time we were looking for. It was extremely clean and welcoming and smelt wonderful, (i really noticed it!) . Spacious but not too big, the layout encourages family bonding and the Trivial Pursuit Family edition is now a favourite with our girls! Hosts extremely responsive, and helpful when I wasn’t well. I really hope we get to go back!

My stay at Frances’ was absolutely lovely- she made us feel very welcome from the offset! The place is very charming and homely- I’ll be back for sure if I return to this neck of the woods!

I stayed here for 3 months whilst on placement in treliske. Nothing was too much trouble. Super welcoming and friendly. Great secluded spot, really quiet and peaceful. Made me feel so welcome and at home during my stay.
