Peaceful rural cottage situated just off the A339 with stunning views. 10 minutes by car from Basingstoke train station. The cottage is next to our house and is a cosy, well equipped place to stay for either a commuter mid week or someone wanting to escape for country walks or bicycle rides. It has a small paved terrace for admiring the view. It is within a mile of Pitt Hall Barn, also close to Oakley Hall, Highclere Castle and Newbury Racecourse to name but a few. Dogs welcome by agreement.

This cottage contains a large maisonette room with a super-king bed and a downstairs room with two double beds, ideal for up to 4 children who can share or two adults who prefer double beds. The bathroom has a bath with a shower in it. There is a fully operating kitchen/dining room. Mary-Ann was so helpful prior to the stay giving recommendations about places to eat. As we were there during a storm, we lost electricity and Mary-Ann went over and above delivering extra blankets, food and hot thermos. She also checked on us in the morning and delivered hot breakfast. Simply amazing, especially when there was nothing she could do about the national electricity outage. We can't wait to come back!

I travelled 4 hrs away to visit this beautiful place cottage was extremely clean, high ceilings with beautiful beams and not even a cobweb in site…was blown away by how immaculately clean it was lovely little town visited the crown pub for a meal which was lovely, the people are so friendly lovely little touch with the breakfast, toiletries were even provided absolutely worth the drive and the money…amazing hosts very helpful me and my partner will defiantly visit again but for longer thank you to Gilly and her husband 😊

This is our second stay at rose cottage It’s a wonderful peaceful setting and very rural In fact idyllic A peace of heaven not from home which is an hour away Lots of beautiful walks and national trusts The swan and cricketers are good pubs We did a fantastic walk from hatch lands NT which took in east and west clanden coming back into hatch lands And another great walk Cobham to downsize about 6-7 miles Polsden Lacey winkworth arboretum and Reigate hill all good walks as well Colette s home is stunning the horses are beautiful and the paddocks and meadows full of deer rabbit pheasant badgers and owls The bird song magnificent and the red kites all added to a most beautiful stay Will be back soon

We stayed for 3 nights 4 days. The home was immaculate. The Lego loft was a huge hit with our children who spent most of their down time up there after our busy days walking. They also loved the ping pong table. The home was cosy, clean & we felt right at home straight away. Communication was great and hosts very friendly and welcoming. We wouldn’t hesitate in booking again! We will be back!

My family and I absolutely loved the location of Hollie and Daniel’s place. So central, everything walkable. Hollie was super responsive to any questions we had. The home is beautiful, bright, and very comfortable. We stayed with our 18 month old who very much enjoyed the spacious front porch area. We would definitely come back again!

Alison is such a thoughtful, attentive and responsive host. We have had a wonderful mini break. The Cottage is absolutely charming. So beautifully decorated and situated in a stunning location. We had the best sleeps we've had in months and months. The house was perfectly kitted out with a great selection of games and books for our six year old and my husband said the coffee was superb. The swimming pool was such a bonus and the absolute highlight of our stay according to our daughter. It was so lovely to be able to swim and look out on magnificent trees- having the pool all to ourselves. To have the wooded Common literally on the doorstep was fab. A truly wonderful stay that we couldnt recommend enough. Thanks so much Alison.

Andre gave very clear instructions about the property. It was in a good location, being within a few yards of a nice play park for our daughter. It was about a half hour walk into Windsor for us with a four year old. Handy to have a small Waitrose and a Tesco so close. The road the house is on is a narrow lane that is not a through road and so parking (with a larger vehicle) to unload was not feasible, especially given that there were people trying to drive up and down the road. I would recommend unloading elsewhere for ease. There is parking on the surrounding streets and we felt the car was safe.
