Like everyone else who has stayed at Karlene and Ruben's Country Cottage, we found it a lovely, meticulously cared for, and relaxing environment. Karlene and Ruben were extremely communicative and considerate and there were some wonderful touches in the furnishings, supplies, and decor that they prepared for their guests that make the cottage feel unique and homey. We loved sitting out on the comfortable cushioned Adirondack chairs on the front porch at sunset, sipping from the bottle of wine the hosts left as a gift, and listening to the birds and the quiet. And our birding weekend in south Texas was complete when we awakened on the last morning to find six gorgeous green jays fluttering around the backyard feeder. Great venue, great value!
