Family-friendly vacation rentals in Portland

Excellent place, sunset and sunrise is just beautiful right from your private balcony, plenty of things to do even on rainy days, huge selection of places to eat, great bands play right on the premises, great people and atmosphere. The condo was very clean and has everything you need. I would love to stay again!

This was a fantastic launching point for our weekend getaway in Portland. Nothing glamorous but close enough to the downtown benefits to walk there (even in April snow) and yet far enough away to be quiet and out of the hubbub of the city. We would recommend Philip's place to anyone else.

My friends and I traveled to Portland, ME for a book club trip and we were so lucky to have found Marie’s house. We had an incredible stay at her peaceful home. The location was serene, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The house was spotless, well-maintained and had all of the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Marie was a wonderful host, she was very attentive, left detailed instructions and recommendations. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing, worry-free getaway!

Beautiful place. Lovely decorated. I would say that it is probably a little expensive for staying there in the winter/ fall time. Only one of us could sit on the couch at a time due to its location by the tv. The shower is really small and there is no room for toiletries in the bathroom at all. There is a rack but I had to keep all my bathroom stuff in bags the entire time because it is just lacking in space. I would think The price is worth it if you’re staying there in the summer and get to use the lake.

Sadie and Laughlin are the best Airbnb hosts we have come across. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The apartment is very clean, has lovely furnishings, is nicely decorated and had everything we needed for a very comfortable 3 and a half day stay in Portland. Both bedrooms are a good size and have incredibly comfortable beds. When we needed help with something, our hosts came around fast to help us. If we are ever back in Portland, we shall gladly book again with them. I would highly recommend this apartment!

A lovely home, wonderfully decorated, beautiful light in the space. Close enough to local sights but also feels quite private. Hosts were friendly and responsive. Truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

This was our second stay at Jessica’s place in Freeport. It was everything she described and then some. The guys felt right at home and comfortable while working construction .in the area

We had a wonderful time in Wells! An absolutely beautiful home with every amenity! Sharon was responsive, kind, and flexible with our stay. We enjoyed cooking and watching the Super Bowl in the amazing home theater! Do not miss out on this fantastic listing!

Cozy and comfortable place to stay while exploring the area. Close to most anything you’d want to do in Southern Maine.

We loved our stay here -- the neighborhood was quiet and in a great location to walk down to a few local shops or all the way into town depending on if you have little ones or not! The deck was nice to sit out on and the bedrooms were beautifully sized and furnished. This is a great place to stay if you want to be near Kennebunkport but have a nice quiet home base close by :)

Very open and airy home in a quiet setting, great central location, and host was very kind, and responsive immediately with questions.

Even though we only stay for one night it was amazing! Loved the spaces look and coziness, the beds where pretty comfortable we went during the winter so the bedrooms got a little chilly but nothing a Mainer isn’t used too :) we loved the couch and living room it was big enough for 8 of us to fit comfortably! The beach is walking distance we had so much fun walking the beach and then coming back and enjoying our night! Over all beautiful and comfortable satay!

Beautiful house that actually felt like a home! Randy was also very helpful and responsive. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with everything we needed. Great experience overall!

We had such a wonderful week-long stay at Suzanne’s place. We spent our days skiing at pleasant Mountain (only a five minute drive away) and our evenings relaxing by the fireplace. The space was super clean, comfortable, and cozy, and the perfect layout for our family. Would highly recommend a stay here, we hope to be back again next year!

Our stay at the beach house was great! You couldn't be closer to the water! So much fun kayaking, floating and swimming in the lake! House is much better than the pictures do it justice. For a 2 bedroom house its very big and spacious, beds were extremely comfortable. The no wifi was a little bit of a downer but there were plenty of board games to play. There is some street noise but not bad at all. Would most definitely recommend if you are looking for waterfront property. The access to the resort pool was a plus too for the kiddos!

Alice’s condo in Old Orchard Beach is exactly as advertised. It was in sparkling condition when we arrived, it’s a very short walk to the beach (when we were able to tear the kids away from the pool!), and it is the perfect distance from the center of town: close enough to walk, but far enough away to enjoy some privacy and distance from the crowds. We even managed to squeeze in a quick workout in the small gym. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you so much, Alice!

Our stay here was amazing, the house is adorable and the views are stunning. The pool was the perfect temperature and the whole family was in the pool every day, plus the views from the pool were pretty remarkable. Sherri was a great host and super communicative and helpful. The house is set up perfectly for a large group with cute little restaurants a short car ride or boat ride away. We will definitely be back!

Maryann was friendly, responsive and quick to reply. She left baked goods and coffee out each morning which was a pleasant surprise. The space was easily accessible, private and spotless. We would definitely stay here again

We absolutely loved our visit to Appledore Cottage! It was quaint and perfectly relaxing. The screened in porch was the best place to just sit…very quiet and peaceful!

Home is very expansive with room for multiple families to reside together. Lots of games and activities for all ages. Amazing location within minutes to airport and short drive to downtown
