October Cottage was absolutely delightful. From the moment we walked in we felt right at home. The furnishings and decor were just perfect. It was a real home from home and it was perfect for our 1st Christmas away as a family. Cathryn had really pulled out all the stops to make our stay comfortable, even setting the table for our Christmas Dinner. The location was very peaceful. We visited the local pub just down the road on our last night and the staff and food were lovely.

Our stay at The Dairy was perfect. The accommodation was peaceful and a great base for our trip. The lounge was a lovely light, sociable space for us all to chill in. The log burner was fab. There was plenty of room for the four of us in The Dairy and at no time did we feel cramped for space. The garden was ideal for our two labs and well fenced so no concerns about possible escapees!! The outside seating area was great for an afternoon sit and a drink. The pub just up the road (The Springer) looked lovely but I would recommend booking if you want to eat there as we didn’t book and then couldn’t get a table….. We would definitely stay again 😎

Once we arrived, Fran was there to greet us. She showed us around the property and how things worked. A little off the beaten track but once there a great countryside location. The property is very modern with great amenities. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place for you. We were greeted with a welcome bottle of Prosecco and homemade scones with clotted cream and jam, which was a nice touch. There is ample space and we felt like the place was home from home. We used the hot tub just the once, which was lovely and relaxing in the evening with a glass of Prosecco. There is lots to explore in the area, however you do need to drive out. We had an amazing stay at Swallows Nest! The cottage was beautiful and equipped with everything you could need. The interior was really homely and cosy and the bed was probably the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. The owners were friendly and welcoming and the fresh eggs and little bowl of chocolates left for us were a really thoughtful touch. Would recommend Swallows Nest to anyone visiting the area and would definitely stay here again. Thank you.
