Vacation rentals with a fireplace in North Dorset District

The house was lovely and William replied quickly to any messages. There was a house book left out for us which detailed instructions for the fire and informed us on local walks. It was really helpful. The house is very private and comfortable with lots of space. We brought our little dog with us and the garden was secure for her to wonder outside. A couple of things to keep in mind is this house is situated on a 60mph road and if you have 3 cars like we did it can be a bit tricky to reverse out of the drive. Also, it didn’t bother us but there are a few locks around the house that are falling off and general maintenance jobs around the house that could need improving. Overall, this house was lovely and perfect for our family weekend away. We would stay again.

When we first stumbled upon this Cottage on AirBnB, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Mandy is the most thoughtful, gracious host. She provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around. The Cottage is just perfect! Location is incredible and it is our new go to long weekend break in the New Forest. Mandy had excellent restaurant and walk recommendations and was of great help. She went way beyond to make our long-weekend comfortable and memorable. Thanks Mandy for a wonderful weekend! We will be back, Russ & Michelle

A lovely stay at Magna Cottage for Christmas 2024, a fabulous place that hosted 4 generations of the family. Unbeatable countryside walks, gorgeous views, beautiful fire place, lots of board games. What a pleasure

The only thing I would have changed is to have stayed for more days, the house was beautiful and the pool table, darts and pool were great fun, our group was entertained for hours. Some problems occurred but nothing Andrew didn’t do his best to sort out, he is a very accommodating host and would love to stay again.

We had a wonderful few days at Carolyn’s place. Plenty to do on the caravan site if you wish but also lots of places to visit locally. Carolyn’s instructions were very clear and helpful and I would highly recommend to anyone

Lyn's place is a 'home from home' experience in a peaceful and quiet location easily walkable into Wells Town through lovely countryside. Lyn had provided lots of extras above and beyond those expected. Her attention to little details was excellent. We had a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful few days staying at Phil's lovely house in Milford on Sea. The house was perfect for our family. The location is perfect too. Less than a 5 minute walk to the sea and about 10 minutes into the village to get to the shops, pubs and restaurants. The house was really clean, uncluttered and had everything we needed.

Perfect location in Bruton, walkable to great restaurants in the town. Lovely property - the woodburner and bath were so cosy! Ideal spot for a couple of nights away exploring the local area and countryside.

we had a really lovely stay, location was perfect easy walking distance to all amenities, host was available if needed, would recommend and if I was in the area I would definitely use phils home again. thankyou for a lovely stay, for the coffee milk tea and sugar. was a real nice touch after a 5 hour drive.

We had a lovely weekend staying in Hannah's apartment. There is so much space - a wonderfully equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge with a small extra bed (perfect for our Teen), large bedroom with plenty of storage and a bathroom with huge bath and a great shower. Perfect location and a short walk into town or up to the canal. Hannah arranged parking for us and was really helpful with all the information we needed. Highly recommend!

This was our 3rd stay now at Christine and Phil’s place and it was exactly what we needed for a chilled start to the new year. We love the central location - convenient for shops and restaurants and you can walk straight out into the open Forest. The cosy log fire means you can warm up quickly after a cold, January walk too! See you again next year!

Very clean and spacious flat with plenty of amenities. Perfect location to be able to walk into town. Was great for a weekend break. Would definitely book again. Host very quick to respond and flexible.

From initial booking to arrival, Richard kept us very well informed throughout. We rocked up on New Year’s Day…very chilly. The accommodation is top drawer. Spotlessly clean, warm and inviting. The log burner was a feature we won’t forget. Even cooked a jacket potato in it! If you are looking for a relaxing shoulder dropper, we highly recommend this superior property at a very reasonable price. Richard could not have been more attentive without being intrusive. A truly wonderful break and would not hesitate to return.

Great location, comfortable and clean flat. We were there in the winter so valued the warmth and the comfortable lounge in the evening. the Love Cake cafe round the corner was lovely.

The flat is in an excellent location, only a couple of minutes by foot from the centre of Bath, and right around the corner from a large supermarket. For our stay of one week, it was well equipped, with sufficient cooking/dining utensils and a washing machine. The living area is spacious, the bedroom is comfortable, and the bathroom is clean and up-to-date.

Each summer a U.K. FAMILY holiday is planned for three generations ..ages 5 up to well quite a lot! The choice this year was to go to Simons place.and what a find for everyone. A characterful house. Inside spacious spotless , kitchen brilliant ,, bedrooms roomy , bathroom ( particularly first floor) fabulous, living room so homely with Simons personal collection of books, his piano, homeliness beyond, and with cable Tv Incorporating Sports channels , and Netflix and Prime Video . Outside the decking in the rear garden a wonderful morning sun trap , the front garden full of charm with BBQ facilities and two squirrels nicknamed Bill and Bob..there every morning … The location very peaceful , parking at front and rear of property . Local shops , and the beach within easy 5-10 minutes walk and buses same time away into Bournemouth Poole and Christchurch . A wonderful seven days

I truly believe David’s home “calls you” when your soul needs peace as well as David’s intuitive advice. I have never stayed at a place where the host is nearby (never mind in the same property) and yet, at David’s house I felt extremely comfortable and safe from the start. The house, amazingly located at the feet of Tor’s grounds, is beautiful inside out. It has everything I needed for a pleasant stay, such as, comfortable beds and linen, as well as, a large family kitchen to cook. Yet, its energy, specially in the living room, and garden grounded and soothed my soul. David, the host, gave us the space and privacy needed when one’s on a break. However, he also was a wonderful listening ear and amazing source of advice. Overall, it was a truly amazing stay and I cannot wait to return soon again.

Lovely family home in the heart of the new forest. Was perfect for a pre Christmas getaway with lovely fireplace and warm Arga in the kitchen. Ian and team were very accommodating and it was lovely to have our two cocker spaniels with us to enjoy long daily walks in the forest. Will definitely be back again

We had the most amazing time away as a family for Christmas. The place was perfect for our youngest member of the family under 1 years old, all the way to our grandparents. Everyone felt at home, with space to relax on their own and together. The walks around the estate were perfect for the mornings and the location was perfect for a short drive to the local towns and beaches. Thank you Emilie and all involved! One of our favourite Christmas' together.

We spent Christmas at Jan’s house, there were 13 of us across 3 generations and the house was absolutely perfect! The kids particularly loved the secret door and room along with the hot tub. We would definitely recommend. The setting is stunning and the house is beautiful.

James is a lovely person and his home is really magical and he gave us total privacy but was ready to help or advise on anything, it was a lovely experience and definitely going back the house is fantastic really special and huge I have never slept in such a huge house even the bathroom was lovely the house is really authentic and fabulous wild garden I loved the windows beautiful location really quiet
