Very convenient location in the heart of the city. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants and was very quiet and peaceful in the evening.

The place is located right by Yasaka Shrine, which makes it really convenient for exploring the Gion area. In addition, it's 10 minutes walking distance to a couple train stations, so getting around the Kyoto area was pretty easy too. The place is spacious and beautifully decorated. I highly recommend considering this place if you're looking to stay in Gion!

I stayed here for a month and loved it! JR line right down the street that goes right to Kyoto station. Busses nearby with access to all over the city + shrines. Great for tourists and great for people living long term locally since it's surrounded by a bunch of fantastic restaurants and has a grocery store directly infront of the house. It made my Kyoto stay very nice. One of the cleanest places I've stayed as well! The only downside I can think of is that it's on a road with a hospital just a few minutes away so there were quite a few ambulances in the area so it made sleeping with the door open kind of difficult but that is not a fault of the home at all. Would definitely recommend to friends and family in the future!

We had an early check-in and our host received us with a warm cup of tea. Gave us local recommendations and showed us how to get around. It was really close to the Kyoto station and a comfortable place to stay in.

There is no elevator, with a large suitcase to be aware.The room is quite big and clean, it is close to Kyoto station, there are many convenience stores downstairs, and the overall stay feels good.

It is very close to Shin-Osaka station, if you have big luggages, it is recommended to go out from the east exit, take the elevator down the stairs, and then navigate to the house, it is convenient, if you exit from the central exit, you can go around, or you can walk over the street sky bridge.

Joe's mom was incredibly welcoming and made check-in a breeze. The room was spotless and had everything we needed, plus some! The neighborhood was serene, with a park and convenience store just a short walk away. We were also delighted to find ourselves near fantastic kaiseki restaurants and izakayas. There's also the amazing Goodman Roaster right across the street!

It is a great place in Kyoto to stay near by the train station :)! I highly recommend staying here.

We (family of 4, including 2 teenagers) absolutely loved this Airbnb. The location was amazing. We ate breakfast on the little deck overhanging the creek, explored the many local izakayas, and it was just a small walk to the centre of Kyoto. Mayumi even organised an early morning taxi to Koyota train station for our day trip to Hiroshima! Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Nori and Fumi were absolutely amazing, from the beginning to the end! They even received our luggages ahead of time and picked us up from the train station. The apartment was beyond our expectations; the bed was so comfortable and the biggest one we had in Japan, spacious living space and kitchen. The ability to do laundry was just icing on the cake! Breakfast was served every morning and it was delicious! Nori gave us an option of doing a traditional Japanese or American breakfast at the cool cafe. The location was right outside of the chaos of Kyoto but very close to the train/bus, restaurants, conventions stores, etc. Fumi took us to a local spot every morning and dropped us off closer to where we wanted to be and gave us recs! The experience with Fumi and Nori was just invaluable. We long to come back and visit them as they are just the most wonderful humans! It was great getting to know them and making new friends in Japan; they added so much to our trip. Thank you so much

I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days on my trip to Kyoto and the location was really good. I was able to walk to major tourist attractions such as Cheongsu Temple and Nishiki Market, and I came from Kyoto Station in 20 minutes by bus. The host was very kind and responded quickly. Overall, I was satisfied, but the bathroom is very, very cramped. The bed is also a little small for two adults. I think it would be fine for two short girls, or a solo traveler to stay. Thank you!

The accommodation is in great condition

We had a wonderful five days at this place! It looks like a small traditional Japanese apartment, which adds a lot of charm to the experience. Everything was impeccable, clean and thoughtful. Beds on futons were comfortable and arranged in a very neat way. There was nothing missing to make our stay enjoyable, and the authentic atmosphere of the place really marked us. We highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to experience an immersion in Japanese culture with all the comforts you need. Thanks again for our perfect stay!

Great place to stay. The location is a bit far from the nearest station, but it's walkable. The hosters were very friendly and replied to every question I had. They even understood a problem I had and modified my booking accordingly! (The best). The apartment is cozy, and the neighborhood is very quiet, very nice to relax after work. A small improvement would be to add more cooking utensils for those who like to cook their own breakfast (like me).

Thanks to the host for giving us this opportunity, if I ever go to this city again, it's a home I can choose

The place is conveniently located near Hanazono Station, just 15–20 minutes from Kyoto Station, making it highly accessible. It’s clean and quiet, providing a comfortable environment for your stay. However, a potential downside is the lack of early check-in options and no facility to leave your luggage at the accommodation. Considering that Hanazono is 20 minutes from Kyoto Station, storing your luggage at Kyoto Station and then exploring the area can be inconvenient. While this might not be a dealbreaker for everyone, it’s definitely something to consider when planning your trip.

Great place however wasn’t aware washing machine and dryer was paid and shared. Also had to pay 200pp/night for accommodation tax

It was very helpful that you responded to this order in detail. When I needed to pick up or exchange things, I felt safe that if I went to a restaurant on the 1st floor, there was someone there. There was a washing machine in the room, and it was nice to be able to hang a lot of laundry using the drying on the rooftop.

Very responsive host! The flat is located in such a convenient area- big supermarket and seven eleven nearby and close to the station. Please note that there are two flights of stairs in the flat.

Very clean, like a hotel compared to other airbnbs, which surprised us a lot. Of course there are cheaper options but the comfort (heater, heated rug, bed linen) and value for money is unmatched. Would come again.
