A good base to explore the other less touristy side of Arenal - especially for windsurfers. Designed for relaxation as well as a chance to get to know others. Helena was a very knowledgable host and is passionate about Costa Rica and all it has to offer.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Cabinas Los Guayabos. Our cabin was so cozy and looked out directly at Arenal Volcano, which we were fortunate to have clear views of each day. The garden just outside the cabin was abuzz with hummingbirds ... and we saw all manner of birdlife, including crested guan and toucan. Magical views! We enjoyed breakfasts at the local soda across the street, as well as ice cream runs next door after busy days hiking and enjoying local activities. Karen welcomed us warmly and was helpful with questions and recommendations. An ideal location to explore a beautiful region. We hope to visit again :)

Whau, what a magic place! Surrounded by nature and jungle view directly from your bed. The trees are touching your window, the birds are coming to the sweet little privat terrace with hammock. The room is cool to sleep, beds confortable ! We came by bus and it was no problem. The privat cabs charge 3000 colones per ride from the retreat to town. Its less than 10 min drive. Perfekt and profesional service, amazing breakfast(optional).we stayed just 2 nights but wished having stayed more. Higly recommanded ! Thank you William and Jonathan

The casita was awesome! It was great to have a functional and extremely well-equipped kitchenette and a beautiful terrace and surrounding gardens. We felt immersed in nature while still being in proximity to town. The bed was so comfortable and even without A/C there was nice airflow. Our host was informative, courteous and helpful. We felt right at home and would highly recommend Sander's place to any traveler.

We slept very well here! Simple accommodation close to the bus stop to/from Cañas and La Fortuna. Internet was down when we were here but apparently that is not normal.

The place is a paradise and there is so much love in every detail! We immediately felt comfortable and at home. My daughter loved the pool and the animals on the farm. We extended our stay by one night because there is so much to do in the area and we also wanted to enjoy this wonderful Airbnb experience for another day. 100% recommendation!

Juanita’s place is really great! She took good care of us, has been flexible with our arrival, and proposed additional nights. She responded quickly every time we messaged her. The place is really clean and well taken care of.

I was lucky enough to stay here for a month and have a whole Tica experience. Not only were my accommodations wonderful with views next to the tops of the trees where I saw Toucans & other birds, but also mountains in the distance. I already miss the mornings rocking in one of 2 rocking chairs off the porch of my bedroom sipping my coffee as the sun rose. Mila loves to cook & taught me some cultural dishes. She went beyond being a renter, taking me to the market, inviting me to some gatherings & we shared a wonderful day in La Fortuna together. Staying here was a whole expeirence. I was traveling alone but I felt like one of the family. Marian cooked me some yummy plantains, her dog Milo was adorable. The pool was lovely, surrounded by gardens & has a lil table area to eat at with a mountain view. She helped arrange transport to the airport. I didn't want to leave, not only because of beautiful Costa Rica but also because of the friends I left behind. I can't wait to return again.

We received excellent service and welcome from Gerald. The place is super safe, and has everything you need for a good stay. We would definitely go again.

We really loved this Airbnb. The small casita was very comfortable, had great views, friendly animals that came to say hello regularly and was close to lots of activities near the lake and town. The space felt clean, super safe, and homey. We will definitely book again, our favorite place near the lake so far!!

Barbara went above and beyond what I expected as a host based on my Air BnB experiences so far, and her husband Lawrence was amazing as well. They both went above and beyond to assure my stay was comfortable and my first time experience in Costa Rica the best. They were quite helpful in suggesting local things to do and in facilitating my success as a guest. I can't say enough about this experience with them. Their guest house was a perfect accomodation.

Jurgen and his wife were very welcoming and hospitable. I had a good time talking to them and sharing some snacks. It’s the perfect place where you can relax and have a nice swim before bed. Thank you for everything I had a wonderful stay.

Natascha’s place was perfect! The garden is so beautiful it makes you feel like you are in the rainforest. Everything was carefully thought out and sparkling clean! Reynaldo also helped us book some activities such as the amazing Baldi Hot Springs (Basically Disney for adults) Parking was available, hot tub was hot, shower was warm, we had an amazing stay! 4x4 drive is not needed, just be weary of potholes in la fortuna and make sure your tires have enough air.
