Dog friendly vacation rentals in Monterey Bay

This was our second stay at Yvonne's. Just as before, the location was perfect, the house was clean and perfectly appointed, and we had a delightful long weekend. Yvonne let us know that the house was ready early, and was always responsive to communication. We don't travel without our dog, and we are so glad he's welcome at this house. We can't wait to stay again!

Amazing location and beautiful home! The house was perfect for our family with young kids! The kids toys and dishes were a great help. The location was so convenient between grocery stores, the beach and town. Melí is a responsive and friendly host! Could not recommend enough! We will definitely be back!

This is our second stay at this property. We occupied two units. There is always plenty of space, and it was clean and ready to go. We enjoyed the little details: plush towels, the “nice” TP, etc :) Thanks for hosting us - we’d come back if you’ll have us.

We stayed here with two young kids and four adults and it was wonderful. There were ample beds to sleep on. The hosts were friendly and responsive. The location is amazing. I would absolutely stay here again (we are already talking about doing the same vacation next year)! My only comment for potential guests - there are really only 2 rooms and a loft that has 2 bunk beds and another full bed. This was slightly inconvenient because there is no door to the stairs of the loft, so when the adults wanted to stay up later and hang out in the living room, it was hard to isolate the noise from where the young kids were. This likely wouldn't be a problem with older kids though! Radiant heating would also be useful in this space, although it seemed like a space heater was an option.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy, clean, and comfortable Airbnb, which was perfect for the holidays. My family and I spent Christmas here, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is ideal, with a quick walk to the beach, pool, or spa. The ocean views are stunning, and there's nothing better than listening to the waves all day. I'm already looking forward to booking my next stay with Sue.

This was our third stay at the Blue Whale Bungalow, and it remains our favorite place to stay in Rio del Mar! Mariam is a wonderful and generous host who immediately remembered our family and welcomed our two dogs. The Blue Whale Bungalow is clean and cozy, with everything you need to enjoy the beach or relax indoors. It is located just two blocks from the beach, where you can enjoy the ocean breeze, search for sea glass, and admire the beautiful sunsets. We look forward to visiting the Blue Whale Bungalow very soon!

Lori's place was perfect for a large group of people to both enjoy each other's company in the large living/dining/deck areas, while having privacy for sleeping. It's two stories with lots of space inside and outside with a third story outside crow's nest deck as well. The hot tub was a bonus! The beach access was incredible and the best thing about the location. It's just a 2 min. walk away! The neighborhood is tranquil. Lori was easy and great to work with as well! What a special time!

Staying at Seascape was the perfect kid-friendly vacation. The pool was easy to access from our condo and the views were beautiful. The condo's set-up with two bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and a half bath downstairs was great for our family of 5. The private beach was beautiful - we saw otters, whales, and my son found two perfect sand dollars walking down the beach. It was a little bit of a trek to get down to the beach with three little kids and all the beach gear, but once we were there no one wanted to leave. Several near-by restaurants were delicious, especially the newly opened Dos Pescados. It was fairly easy to get into Santa Cruz too, but we did have to time traffic or it would double the drive time (to almost 45 minutes).

We cannot save enough good things about Lisa's place- we didn't want to leave. The place had the best location! Described as 28 steps to the beach, it really is that! I was looking for a beachfront property, and this was just that. The beach was also easy to get to, unlike some of the other listings. The home was very clean and comfortable- it had a lot of high tech items, like the Lululemon exercise mirror, the table that is a high/low, standing or sitting, the sleep number beds, the restroom mirrors/shower. Lots of items were included to ensure an amazing stay-- binoculars for whale watching, sand toys on the patio, and aquarium passes. So very thoughtful! Lisa was very responsive, and I really appreciate the later checkout upon request. I wasn't feeling well that last full day and was really grateful. We were also lucky that we got to be here when the heated pools were available! My absolute favorite part was the views and proximity to the beach!

We had a wonderful relaxing trip, the view of the beach was great from the family room and master bedroom. All the amenities were great, kitchen was stocked, bathroom were clean and stocked well. We had an amazing experience overall.

We stayed in a deluxe ocean view villa for three nights. The beach is walkable and our room had very good view. The kitchen is completely stocked . There were views from both the floor and saw sunsets from both our balconies. The bed was comfortable. There are places to walk around the property.The onsite restaurant has a very good view and accommodative for our food choices. Overall good stay and memory. Home away from home.

Had the most amazing time at the perfect location!! The place was very clean and had everything we needed. It was a great getaway and we already are planning on coming back!

Amazing stay, the location is absolutely amazing. Great little beach getaway spot that makes you feel at home. Evan was very responsive and provided a great list of recommendations from restaurants all the way down to surf spots. Definitely will stay again.

This place was nicer than the photos and absolutely perfect for a girls weekend. Everything was well equipped and labeled. The location was very quiet and peaceful with great access to a quiet beach. You definitely need a car as it's a little isolated but that added to the charm.

Loved this place very much! We enjoyed our wine and snacks and movies in the living room and 3 rd bed room which both have nice views and deck in front. Too bad the trip was short and will go back again!

This is my second time to Monterey Dunes, first time in this unit. We liked that it had ample bedrooms and bathrooms to maximize comfort. Location is great for those who prefer a view and nature and it’s convenient between Monterey/Carmel area and Santa Cruz.

This was a great condo that was really convenient for my family's little spring break vacation. We had our toddler with us as well as our parents. There are beautiful paths around the grounds of the resort and only a five to ten minute walk to get down to the beach. The condo had a beach wagon, towels, and beach toys for us to borrow. There is also a footwash fountain right next to the condo which made cleanup really easy. In the evening we watched the sunset from the balcony. Overall the place was really clean but very cozy with lots of amenities, and David answered all of our questions within minutes. The parents loved it so much they want to make it a tradition, so maybe we will be back someday!

Our 5 day stay was great. Felt right at home. Great location w an amazing view. Place was nice and clean. We found beach gear as well that’s provided by the host. We were greated with complimentary snacks and bottled bubbly water. Kitchen had everything needed to cook if need be. We will definitely be coming back once the opportunity comes around.

Susan was awesome with responding to any question we had! The place was perfect for our family to gather and stay together for my son’s wedding, which was just a few miles away. We highly recommend the home for a group!!! Thank you, Susan!!!!

We loved our stay at Karin's and felt right at home. This is my 90s dream home complete w/nostalgia from the VHS movies to the DVDs, TV w/the VHS slot, and a tape rewind machine. The area is very quiet, private, + peaceful. The house is very clean, cozy, spacious, I love the vaulted ceilings and breathtaking views! Had plenty of natural light on the main floor, lots of towels, linens, thick soft blankets, toiletries in the bathrooms, lots of beds, lots of seating. I love the breakfast nook next to the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the 1/2 bath on the main floor was convenient. Super close to hiking at Point Lobos, the beach, main shops and restaurants on Ocean Ave, Barnyard, and still close enough to Monterey and Big Sur. Tenant in the cottage next door was nice and friendly when we ran into her, but it was still a quiet and private stay for us. Didn't get to use the aquarium passes since my teen didn't want to go. We would love to come back again when the weather is warmer.

I always choose to stay at Emrehans when I need a place near San Jose. Very beautiful, clean home/yard, great location. Emrehan communicates well and has been very accommodating to me. Very good price for the stay. Would recommend.

Had a fantastic weekend trip here. Had all the amenities we needed to feel at home. I would definitely come back here if I’m ever visiting the central coast again. Easy drive to Point Lobos, Carmel, and Monterey Aquarium.

Clean, well-appointed, spacious home less than a block from the beautiful Twin Lakes Beach. You can see the beach from chairs on the front lawn. We were lucky enough to be there during the lighted boat parade (first Saturday in December), so we watched the lighted boats in the water from the front yard. Everything was easily accessible. The home includes many amenities (washer/dryer, cooking supplies, games, pack n play). The room with the bunk beds has a separate bathroom, making it really nice for families with older kids. Great stay and I hope we can return.
