We loved staying at Hippo View. It was exactly what we needed - nature, a swimming pool, good nights' rest and the bush. The communication was great and Marietha was very helpful with check-in. Did not have any troubles (apart from Eishkom's load shedding). Beds slept comfortably, the view is excellent and everything one might need is in the house.

We have just come back from spending nine unforgettable nights at Penzhorn Rest Cottage and it exceeded all of our expectations - even better than the photos! Zonja, our host, welcomed us warmly on arrival and was so accommodating to make sure we were happy throughout our stay. Her hospitality has honestly blown us away! The highlight of our stay was the daily sight and sound of the river with nightly hippo visitors which added such a magical touch to our stay, immersing us in the beauty and awe of the African bush. Whether enjoying a coffee while reading by the river or relaxing in the ‘bosbad’ every moment felt really special to us! Zonja’s meticulous eye for detail was evident in the small touches around the cottage which made us feel right at home. This is a haven for nature lovers seeking a luxurious yet authentic escape. If you decide to book this listing you won’t be disappointed! We left feeling rejuvenated and are already looking forward to returning!

Heather was so welcoming and friendly. The house and patio were beautiful, with a gorgeous view of the river. The deck with the pool, right on the river, was lovely. There were many different places to relax and hang out. The A/C in the bedrooms was a nice bonus. We also enjoyed the outside kitchen and the fire pit.
