Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Mevagissey

Just got back from Anchorage House and had a fantastic 4 days celebrating a special birthday with family and friends. The house was perfect for entertaining and we sat everyone down in the Conservatory on Sunday for lunch before they had to leave. We would of dined at the Rising Sun but the chef was on holiday but a 20 minute walk on Monday to Mevagissey and we had a lovely lunch in the Ship Inn. Great location, waking up and watching the sunrise from the bed on my birthday was just perfect. Would not hesitate to recommend the house. it is well equipped and the views are stunning and close to plenty of local beaches and walks. Good communication from Matthew.

This is a lovely cottage, perfectly placed on the path to Trebarwith Strand, peaceful, and with lovely views over the valley. It has old-fashioned charm (wood-burner, Rayburn, low beams etc.) but modern comforts - it is airy, surprisingly light with windows on both sides, and very cosy and spacious. Worth knowing if you have a dog that there is a tiny secure patio at the back, accessed from the garden room/bedroom 3, which is handy if you can't let your dog off lead out the front. We loved the sun terrace and garden room on warm days, the log burner on cold days, and the Rayburn's constant heat to come downstairs to in the morning. We would love to stay again. We know Treknow well, and it's a beautiful quiet hamlet, perfectly placed to drive to other lovely beaches and with the shops of Tintagel really only 5 minutes away. My one caveat is that this is actually a rental through Cornish Traditional Cottages ('George' is not a real person!). Even if you book through Air BnB you are half-switched to CTC's booking system, which led to confusing messages (Air BnB said we'd paid half, for example, yet CTC emailed outside the app to say we'd paid in full even though we hadn't). To save confusion I will book directly through CTC next time.

The property was very beautiful and clean. We had a child with us and the baby chair in the kitchen is very thoughtful. Lana and her daughter was very easy to get hold of. The experience was remarkable. Definitely recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gatehouse. It was such a great opportunity to stay there. We will forever remember our stay as a small time-travel to the Tudor era, while the apartment also offers the amenities of modern times. We mostly went there for day trips / hiking in the surrounding area, but I think it is also the perfect romantic place for reading, writing or even drawing and to spend a full day inside. Part of what makes this place so special is certainly that it's an old (though very nicely restored) building, so it's natural to encounter more spiders or insects than you would in a city apartment, though it was ok for us (and certainly not a cleanliness problem!). One can see how much planning and work has gone into the restoration of the building. It is amazing that you can rent such a place! Emma and especially Romilly whom we've personally met were lovely hosts who offered more help and service than one can usually expect. We would love to come back one day.

We had a lovely stay as a group of 6 adults. Staff were lovely and went the extra mile. The house we stayed in was exceptionally clean and tidy. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we would need. Would recommend to others.

Barn Cottage was gorgeous, well-appointed, with a spacious lounge and kitchen/dining area and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well-equipped too if you like cooking. We had some great walks with our dogs, from the door, to several beautiful beaches. Enjoyed a lovely meal at Salt and Samphire in St Merryn, and drinks with a view at Trevose Country Club. We really enjoyed our short break. One thing to note, with it being an 'upside down' house, the living areas are up so if you are wanting to stay with young children or the elderly, there are stairs to negotiate to get the bathroom/toilet or to the garden.

Just spent a very relaxing and enjoyable 5 nights at Cows Cramp Cottage. It is in a beautiful and peaceful location. It has a large garden, access to various fields, and a large BBQ which we made use of a couple of times. The cottage itself is lovely. It is warm and welcoming with a large conservatory with dining table and a couple of sitting rooms. The kitchen is very well equipped and the two bathrooms are modern. The location is perfect for exploring SW Cornwall. It’s a 20 min drive to St Ives, 20 mins to St Michaels Mount, and 20 mins to the A30. Communication with Elena was easy and friendly. The whole experience was excellent.

We had the best few days at Lis’s . Lovely place to stay. Beautiful views from the window. Lis was there to answer any questions and was very helpful . We had a lovely meal at the pub and were lucky enough to see the Christmas Lights being turned on in Mousehole. Magical.

We had a lovely stay at Swanpool Gardens. Laura was exceptionally friendly, responsive and accommodating. Check in and check out were easy. The place is really great for a family stay. It has everything you need to make you feel at home. The garden is so beautiful and a great bonus. Our children enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds! You are minutes from Swanpool beach and not too far from town so a brilliant location for a relaxing stay.

We had an excellent stay at 3 sea View. It was really cosy & we immediately felt at home, decorated for Christmas which was lovely. The views from lounge & bedroom windows were outstanding. I will miss the sea views & the sound of the waves. The bed was really comfortable, the shower was good & loved the dressing room area, what a bonus. Would definitely come back to stay here.

Small but perfectly formed! dreamy cottage for two with everything you need and a modern shower. Bathroom is cosy and en suite but well appointed. Highly recommended.

This house offers everything you need to travel to Cornwall. Good fit for every type of trip. The kitchen equipped everything for breakfast and any meals (in case you need to cook). Chris and her family very welcomed us and we just felt like we were staying at our own home. Thanks so much Chris and I will definitely choose yours again if I will travel back.

Anna was a wonderful, considerate host, ensuring the flat was warm and cost ahead of our arrival. Xmas decorations sparkled and the decor gave a real hygge vibe. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I won’t stay anywhere else in Falmouth again. Superb. Six stars!

Place was clean, light and spacious. Had everything we needed. Loved location as 20-30 min stroll (moderate hills) to/from Main Street in Newquay and had free parking. Would stay again and do recommend.

Wonderful from start to finish. Accommodation very modern, spotlessly clean & very well equipped. Bedrooms are large with comfortable beds. Lounge & kithchen area was very comfortable & spacious with everything you could possibly need. Wheel chair accessibility was outstanding throughout the entire property. Garden area was very large with outstanding views. Also safe & enclosed for our 2 dogs. Location was excellent with several supermarkets within minutes drive away. Beautiful harbours and beaches within a 10 to 20 minutes drive. Spoilt for choice for lovely restaurants & bars all within a short drive. Communication with Raimondas was fantastic, any questions were answered very quickly. He was extremely kind to our family when we needed some help on our last day. I would not hesitate to recommend this property. Myself & my family are hoping to return next year. Thank you to Raimondas, we had the best holiday.

The chalet was perfect, very clean and comfortable, with amazing views of the sea, lots of amenities if you’ve got a large family. Easy to get into Looe Village which is quaint and adorable. The location is really close to the beach, with sea views and great scenery, very peaceful, and exactly what I was looking for. Definitely recommend

A lovely lodge in a great location. Perfect for our needs. Nice walk to Looe directly from the beach, and having the beach shack open in the evenings was a bonus. Great area for sea swimming (with a seal for company!) and easy to get to other parts of Cornwall. Louise was very helpful and responsive. We’d visit again.

Absolutely lovely and very cosy place. Felt like at home from the moment we entered. We got a very warm welcome from Julie. Very friendly feeling. The house is clean and tidy, everything is new, with a very well equipped kitchen. Many things to do both in Atlantic Reach. Very convenient location for exploring whole Cornwall.

Us 9 from 7 to 70 had a really great holiday. Despite sometimes dodgy weather, we loved using the numerous house facilities. The sheltered from breeze,wellness area exceeded expectations, especially hot tub & sauna & was well maintained.Also much family football ! & basketball. The outdoor gym a good perk. Pizza oven good fun too. Indoors budding pianists explored their talents ! The conservatory was beautiful to relax & eat family meals in if we couldn't eat outside. Locally the walk to Porth beach for us was fine & walk to the island beautiful. We made use of the body boards & kids wetsuits at the house and all tried out paddle boarding at the Gannell ( again free because the house offered inflatable board ). So busy we only watched 1 film in the cinema / playroom, but it's a great asset to have, as was the annexe, a real little home. the lettuces growing if we wanted & just the huge space in & out. Unlike many places, upstairs was spacious & all fully carpeted, so very quiet.

I had the pleasure of staying at Polkanugga Farm and it was truly exceptional. Hidden in the middle of nature, this place offers the kind of peace and quiet that is hard to find. The property is very well-equipped with everything you might need. The hot tub was a real luxury, perfect for relaxing under the stars. The pizza oven was a delightful addition, making for memorable evenings with homemade pizzas. The gaming room was fantastic, with a good table tennis setup that provided much fun and entertainment for kids. Overall, this accommodation was a true gem. The quite atmosphere, combined with excellent amenities, made for an unforgettable stay. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to unwind in a beautifully equipped and peaceful retreat.

Wow, what a fantastic place this is. Every comfort you could think of and more besides. Superb location ( the beach is one of the best we’ve visited), extremely comfortable beach houses with luxury touches and a superb welcome hamper. The very best food (topped off with a pizza night where all the delicious fresh-ingredients were delivered to our door with an Ooni oven) and the most wonderful team who could not do enough to make our stay so memorable. You’ll want for nothing and trust me, you won’t want to leave. We are already planning a return for December. We travelled as a family and it’s very family friendly, but also very private and quiet and would be so amazing for a couples trip away. Do it, book it and you’ll have no regrets.
