Monthly Rentals in Matauwhi Bay

We recently had a great stay at Sixteen Jandals. Travelling as a family of our with a dog. Everything was as described. Lots of space to relax. A fantastic bach with water views, located in a great location to Russell town. Karen and Craig were great hosts, answered all our questions in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing stay and were sad to leave. The house was comfortable and well equipped. The views were stunning. We loved Russell, lots to do in the area as well. Clive was accommodating and very helpful. We will come back!

Rebecca loved her stay there with her family. She was travelling for work and had an event to attend which made it super easy having this accommodation as it was 30 seconds to the event. She wants to return here next year when she has to attend the event again!! Thank you Kelly

To say that the view is impressive is an understatement. The moment you open the front door, the view over the Bay is what makes this an incredible spot to stay. The bean bags, sofas, daybed (my particular favourite for a read) picnic benches on the deck or just reclining in bed, all afford you this fabulous view. It changed every half hour or so, as you're at the centre of a natural amphitheatre you do hear all sorts of sounds from the Tui's, Bellbirds, Kiwis and cicadas, it's constant and glorious. And yes you can hear as cars go by from the ferry, but to even mention that is churlish. As we sat soaking in the view one night the sound of an anchor chain going down was quite distinct and then the puttering of an engine on a boat over half a kilometre away confirmed all was well with the world. It's just a lovely base for popping to Russell and the ferry over to Opua is regular and opens up the rest of the Bay of Islands to you.
