Vacation rentals with lake access in Massachusetts

This was the PERFECT weekend escape. My boyfriend and I work high stress jobs in the cities and this little place and the beautiful surroundings was the perfect way to relax and get some space from the hustle and bustle.

10/10 stay!! The cottage sits on a beautiful pond. We came during a rainy weekend so we stayed mainly inside. We turned on the electric fireplace & put on a movie. It was so cozy. Once the rain let up, we went outside and used the outdoor fireplace! So peaceful. Everything else you’d need, you are only a short drive from a cvs & grocery store. Melissa is a great host. We really appreciate how quick she responded with any minor concern we had. We look forward to more future stays at the cottage!

This is the cutest little house! I really enjoyed my visit. The walkway area outside is very nice with the plants and flowers. It was very quiet and peaceful. Thank you!

Serene and charming riverfront hideaway. In a residential neighborhood but very quiet. You are 5-10 minutes from great restaurants, shopping, Dennis Beach but it all feels very secluded. We went kayaking every day from the private dock, saw swans, sea lions, and hawks. The space is clean, boho-chic, very comfortable beds, easy to use gas fireplaces. Primary bedroom sitting area/sunroom is dreamy for reading. Kitchen has everything you need. We thought we might miss an ocean/bay view but we didn't at all. Very reasonably priced for the quality. Meg replied to all messages within minutes. We would absolutely come back. Great for a couple or small family.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Elle’s house. The bedrooms and living spaces were thoughtfully laid out and decorated beautifully. A short drive to lots of little cafés and hiking trails. We appreciated the quiet solitude of this little getaway in the Berkshires, and the ping pong table too. We didn’t get to use the lake (snow in April!) but hope to return to try again!

5 of us stayed at Michelle’s place for 2 nights for my 2 year olds birthday and my 5 year olds spring break. It was the perfect place to stay with the kids as they LOVED the play room and all the toys. We took a day trip to Great Wolf Lodge which was only 25 mins away. We also went for a nice hike at Dunn State Park that was 15 mins away. The kids had a great vacation and the adults enjoyed the beautiful lake views and hot tub. We would definitely stay again.

An eclectic and peaceful retreat. Great location and relaxing location. It’s an artist studio/lake cabin and it is unique and fun. Great food nearby and quaint little township.

We stayed here for a week and used it as a home location for day trips each day. We easily got to antique stores in New Hampshire and Maine and we were close enough to Boston to get to Mount Auburn and Salem. Everything was just as pictured on the website and our host responded to us very quickly whenever we had a question. Absolutely enjoyed being able to watch the sunset from our room and enjoy the wonderful bird songs in the morning and the frogs and crickets at night.

Bill and Trish were amazing hosts, and they made sure the place was exceptionally clean. They even had fresh flowers for us when we arrived.

We were in town for my son's college graduation. This place was perfect - not far at all from downtown Worcester and stores, restaurants and coffee shops were nearby. My family enjoyed the beautiful and spacious apartment. The kitchen and eating area were a good size and spotless clean. The working desk set up with the comfortable chair was much appreciated as I had some remote work to get done. The bedrooms were also comfortable. John and Lina were pro-active in their communication with us and were especially warm in welcoming us. I highly recommend their beautiful place.

This was my second stay at Jessica's wonderful retreat space. This time, I was in town with 2 companions for my son's graduation from Clark University in Worcester. The apt. was perfect for this purpose, as it was for my first stay. This place is an oasis away, but very convenient to Worcester, restaurants, and cultural activities of downtown. For those who like outdoor recreation, there's a lake and a fabulous disc golf course nearby. If you wanted, you could just stay on site. Jessica's grounds are lovely--beautiful, well-tended gardens, places to sit and reflect in nature. The apartment is very comfortable for a good night's sleep, and it includes an inviting common space for guests to spend time together (playing one of the board games, or if one must watch TV it's there, too, but hidden from view if you don't want it as a focal point). A great place for a quiet retreat, or for families. Plus, Jessica is always gracious, helpful, goes above and beyond. You won't regret booking!

We had a wonderful time !!! Dave and Diana are great hosts everything was better than expected. They let us know that the apartment was ready for an early check in ( we really appreciated that) Such a comfortable home with a beautiful view!!!! The home is stocked with everything you could possibly need. It was so easy living there we didn't want to leave. We were in the area to visit our grandchildren and having them over to the lake was perfect!!! God blessed us with beautiful weather and the house was stocked with beach towels, bug spray , sunscreen and snacks. Kudos Diana for thinking of everything👍 The grandchildren give the place a 5 star review and are calling it " our lake house" We only wish 😃 Thank you for sharing this wonderful place we hope to return again.

We had the best time in Arlington this past week! We came for the Boston marathon. The place was beautiful and the location was perfect. It was close to Boston but far enough out for the peace and quiet. Doug and Hope were the most exceptional hosts. They were accommodating and very responsive. They went above and beyond to make our stay and everything we needed as easy as possible. They were so great and we hope to come back in the future!!

The suite was well-equipped and very clean. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking, and having laundry facilities was a big plus. The location is very convenient — within walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants, and a beautiful pond with walking trails. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Lisa's place was very pleasant. Her home is very nice with a lovely view of the lake and plenty of space for large families (we were only four people but can easily accommodate a few more). The neighborhood does not have a lot of car traffic which is great for walking and jogging around the lake. And it is also relatively close to Falmouth downtown and convenient stores. Lisa was very easy to communicate with and is very courteous and friendly. She really seems to care about her guests' comfortability. It was a pleasure dealing with her. Thank you, Lisa!

Carol is a great host. We had a small issue with the front door screen locking up and she came over right away and let us in. She is very responsive and responsible. I forgot my medication when I left and she was kind enough to mail it back to me immediately. She has a been a great host and I hope more hosts are like Carol. It rained the whole time we were there so we did not get a chance to check out the lakes around there but I am sure they are great. There is a mall near by with bowling so we did that instead. This is such a cute cottage, you can tell the host has put love into their property. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Plymouth!

Serenity Cottage was the perfect location for a family getaway. The house is bright, clean and extremely comfortable. It had every amenity we could possibly need for our family of two adults, one toddler and one infant. We immediately felt at home. Lee Ann was a perfect host. All instructions and communications were clear and easy to follow. She was proactive to reach out during our stay and gave us great recommendations. The setting was truly stunning and allowed us to enjoy Cape Cod with ease. The cottage is in a great location - within driving distance of beaches, shops, and restaurants. Thank you, Lee Ann! We will absolutely be back to Serenity Cottage.

This place exceeded our expectations & needs! The host was kind enough to let us check in earlier at a cost & we’re so glad we did. It was a beautiful location & set up. We had such a peaceful and relaxing stay! The setting was incredibly serene, and we felt completely at ease the entire time. All of the amenities, especially the boats and kayaks, were very accessible, and we used them throughout our stay — it really made the experience special. We also loved spending cozy nights around the campfire, which added such a warm and memorable touch. There was so much for the kids to do, and they had a fantastic time as well! The host was so kind and welcoming, and communication was very easy from start to finish. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, and it made for a truly wonderful getaway. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, fun, and family-friendly escape!
