Cottage vacation rentals in Lexington

We loved our short stay at this beautiful lakefront vacation home. It was quiet and peaceful, and it has a lovely scenic view of the lake as soon as you drive up. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We would gladly stay here again.

Rachel was a wonderful host. We went away for a girl's weekend in the mountains. We felt right at home and didn't have to worry about having the necessary tools for cooking or relaxing. She thought of everything from the little helpful tidbits in the bathrooms to the kitchen. This spot is tucked away in a quiet, private spot. Wifi was strong, and everything worked great. The hot tub was a special touch, and my pup loved running around in the snow.

Shaun was incredible responsive and gave great recommendations of things to do in the area. The house was exactly what we expected and the bear cave was amazing!

What a gem! Our family of 5 enjoyed everything about our stay at Hillside Hideaway. Comfortable and cozy atmosphere, very clean. We all enjoyed the hot tub each evening and lazing in the hammock for some down time between hiking and sightseeing. The kiddos loved the books, games, toys, and swing. Rhonda was a great host with easy communication and very clear instructions about the home. We wish we could've stayed longer!

From the moment I pulled up I was in love. From the serene lake to the beautiful view in the backyard, everything was perfect. The book tells you everything you need to know. Everything was clean. I will return.

I truly can’t say enough good things about this Airbnb! My wife and I travel a decent bit and this was by far one of the most memorable experiences we had staying at an Airbnb. The location is perfect, it is cozy and private with beautiful 360 mountain views but still only 20 mins to downtown Harrisonburg where we enjoyed great restaurants and shops. It’s also very close to Shenandoah National Park where we went for a hike. The cottage itself offers more than enough to keep you entertained whether sitting in the hot tub or walking down to the river access, we couldn’t have been happier! We will absolutely be coming back!

We had such a great stay! Our family really enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub after our days of hiking. We appreciated the great small touches including the s'more ingredients, the delicious brownies, and seperate towels for the hot tub. The backyard is so peaceful. The house was very spacious and clean for a family of 4 that included 2 college aged kids. I highly recommend this place. Thank you so much!

Amazing home and a greag place to just get away

Such a great place to stay, walking distance to everything! The house had everything we needed and we truly enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! The views were incredible and being right on the river and around trails was perfect. Our kids loved the fire pit. The place is very private and it felt so peaceful to walk around the property.

Kind of bummed I was only here for the one night because this was such a great, comfortable place and near a lot of cool stuff. It was a layover stop on a long drive, but exactly what I needed. So cute and I loved the very secure and private yard for my canine roadtrip partner. I can't get over the awesome spa shower, which was the highlight of my night. The recliner sofa was so comfortable that I unintentionally passed out for most of the night there and then relocated to the bed, which was also lovely. I would definitely look here first if I'm in the area again, and hopefully stay longer to take advantage of the location more. Thank you!

Beautiful, clean cabin. Breathtaking views - photos don't do it justice. And the wine was fantastic!

Mary Scott and Mark's cottage was a wonderful little getaway. The cottage was quaint and cozy. Check-in instructions were very clear and our hosts were very responsive. It was a great location with beautiful surroundings and had many things to do within a 20-25 min radius. Downtown Charlottesville and Monticello were close by and were great day activities. We also really enjoyed the Glass House Winery which was about 5 min away. Beautiful home, highly recommend!

My stay at the Pink Cottage was great. It’s cozy and comfortable and so charming. Eli’s painting are beautiful and make the place very special and unique. It’s also very quiet and peaceful. Overall a wonderful experience that I would repeat in a heartbeat!

This was a perfect place for a peaceful getaway. The fireplace was a treat, and we had a very cozy stay. It's hard to add to what other reviewers have already said, but here is one detail: on a winter's night, when the moon is down and the sky is clear, the stars are fantastic! Because there is no nearby light pollution, the view from the deck of the night sky is deep and brilliant.

Beautiful location literally on top of the mountain! Enjoyed a quick walk over to the neighboring nature preserve along with numerous other thoughtful recommendations from the host. Private and quiet, yet also surrounded by a few resident neighbors so it doesn’t feel too secluded - perfect balance! Around 20 minutes to many nearby stores/restaurants in Cave Spring. Very clean and conveniently supplied with the essentials.

Wonderful stay! The house is thoughtfully decorated and arranged. Kitchen small but very well equipped- we cooked two breakfasts and two dinners and had everything needed to do so. Lots of extras t/o the house as well. Like soap, shampoo, towels, coffee, and snack bin! We loved the porch while watching and listening to the river with a glass of wine. Parks are both so close and fun for little ones. Thank for sharing your place. We will be back.

Tyler was a great host and we highly recommend staying at his place! Great mountain views, peaceful, and lots of places nearby like wineries, restaurants, etc. Centrally located near a bunch of great spots! We plan to stay at Tyler's place again in the future!

What a wonderful get away! Our family stayed here about 2 years ago and had such a wonderful time. We couldn't wait to get back and it didn't disappoint! We had a wonderful stay and weather was great. Such a wonderful peaceful place. We always feel right at home. Craigs Creek is such a beautiful clean creek. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, canoeing and just hanging out in the water. Definitely will be back again. So thankful this host shares and blesses others by offering their place to others. For being where it is, Wi-Fi/internet works great and there is even a landline! Thanks again

Such a beautiful piece of land and a cute little house! Rhonda was very nice and helped us with everything we needed! Would recommend and stay again!

Our stay was perfect and what we expected. I had my dog with me and there was a lot of space to walk him. A nice surprise was an artist show on the grounds and displays of different art medium for browsing or buying. The cabin was clean and quiet. A great little place for a stay on our way to our final destination. Bonus was the nearby hiking trails.

Beth’s place was perfect for a quick trip to the Charlottesville/Crozet area! The location was perfect for driving for hikes, wineries, and restaurants. The space was clean and comfortable. Although it was renovated, lots of items and the structure appeared to be original, which was fun. The washer and dryer were a lifesaver after getting a bit muddy in the mountains! The peace and quiet of the surrounding area was great as well.

Fairwood Cottage was a wonderful place to stay! A quick 10-minute drive to Charlottesville, but in a quiet rural setting. The cottage was super clean. very comfortable, with everything we needed and lots of special touches. We enjoyed sitting outside to relax at the fire bowl after a day visiting Charlottesville. We’ve visited the area several times but this is our favorite by far and we will be back! Thank you for the hospitality!

What a beautiful stay! Truly a one of a kind location! I miss it already! I will be back again for another peaceful stay. Close to many great trials and Lynchburg was a really unique town, not far from the property at all. Highly recommend!
