Family-friendly vacation rentals in Leicestershire

Location was excellent for our purposes (in the center of the city, few minutes walking distance from the University, the market and the railway station) The host was a bit slow in responding before arrival in the UK, but issues regarding were resolved upon arrival at the airport. Overall the apartment was in good to excellent condition apart from some issues which were considered minor due to the relative short stay of 8 days. (One window was very tricky to open and close, the freezer needed some defrosting, one of the faucets had a broken drainer, no towels or sheets were changed during the length of our stay)

Had a lovely stay in the lodge. Beds comfy, place was clean and luxurious, great to have robes for when utilising the hot tub. Temp of hot tub did unfortunately vary and was cold on first night but soon sorted through instructions from host. Overall a very lovely stay with beautiful views and secluded quiet environment.WiFi a bonus! Lovely touches including bottle of wine, welcome note and folder providing info on local area and places to eat. We enjoyed visiting the foxton locks, the local tearoom and the local market for some lovely fresh produce.

Spent the night here in Feb and was the perfect spot to relax and take in a different view. Lynden was super at commuting before and during our stay. Make sure to take her up on the offer to meet the animals, her Grandson George was a wonderful guide! Sitting under the stars in the Hot Tub was beautiful, as well as having the alpacas nearby! Inside the log burner made the hut feel all cosy and warm. 10/10 stay would recommend!

We had a lovely time. It was luxurious to escape reality into the peace and calm. A lovely place to stay, you feel like it really is just you and your loved ones. GREAT for dogs- so nice the space is enclosed and safe. Thank you, we loved it.

Just got home from a lovely, relaxing stay here. Met up with 5 friends who now live all over the country and this was a great, central location. Tom met us as we arrived and showed us how everything worked. House was clean with some quirky lamps, each bedroom had an en-suite plus kettle and cups. The hot tub was a perfect addition. Lost many an hour chatting away while sat in it. Would definitely stay again.

Owls nest was great and a perfect little getaway for us. Everything was as described and clean. We were able to get straight into relaxing and enjoying our stay. Can't wait to come back

We stayed for a couple of nights over Christmas and cooked our Christmas dinner at the lodge. The kitchen was very well equipped - the oven was a bit tricky but the hob was fine. The lodge was very clean and homely. Great peaceful location and the most amazing sunsets were visible from the lounge. Caroline was really helpful and on hand if needed.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place is so tastefully decorated and has all the amenities. It made for such a quiet and peaceful stay in Nottingham. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay near Nottingham.

Stayed for a week during a house move and needed somewhere restful and comfortable during a stressful time. Manton Lodge Farm was just that. The views across countryside were beautiful and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. We were so glad we'd chosen to stay there and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit beautiful Rutland. Huge thank you to both Hugh and Emma!

I’d highly recommend The Hayloft. The property exceeded our expectations and the pictures really don’t do it justice. The space was warm, comfortable and everything we needed was provided. The bathroom is really lovely, well lit ( a real bonus in my opinion as so many bathrooms have terrible lighting), the bath is deep and comfortable, the shower powerful with plenty of hot water. The bed was very comfortable too. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. We loved the location which is really peaceful and set in beautiful countryside. There are walks directly from the property and it was a joy to see the goats, pigs and chickens in the barn nearby. A really lovely bonus was to have delicious local bread, homemade jam and mince pies, biscuits,milk and butter provided. There was also a bottle of champagne , festive flowers and a lovely little Christmas tree which made it all the more special.

We loved our stay at Caroline and Roger's- situated in beautiful, peaceful grounds with amazing views of the surrounding countryside, and the property was very clean, cosy, spacious and well-equipped. We felt very welcome, they are really friendly hosts. A great base for walking, as well as the Foxton Locks and Naseby Civil War battlefield and memorials. Market Harborough is a lovely town and not far by car, as are other historic houses and gardens, but unfortunately at this time of year they were all closed. We would happily go back and stay at the property again in the Spring/Summer to explore. Highly recommend!

This is such a lovely house, very clean, with books, a spacious loft room, and a garden to relax in. The location is near to a tram stop; shops, Tesco's, Sainsbury's are about 15 minutes' walk away. The welcome fruit and wine added a thoughtful touch to the welcome extended to us. Thank you, Michael and Heather, for a wonderful stay!

What a hidden gem! My fiancé and I wanted a last minute night away between our children going to their other parents and me working over new year! John was so welcoming from the initial request, responsive and so helpful - going the extra mile so we could book the night! He was onsite on arrival and showed us around! Felt totally off grid and everything being self built made it extra special! We spent hours just sat by the fire listening to the owls and the river! Even though it was a cold December night - the tiny house was warm and cosy - the duvet thick and comfortable with big puffy pillows! I have nothing but thanks for John and we will 100% be returning just us but also with our children! Thanks John x

Great stay and amazing accommodation with fantastic views

I stayed here for 5 weeks and was very comfortable, with everything you could need. The area seems nice and safe, walkable to city centre/train station and a quick bus ride to the university. It's worth being aware that you can clearly hear the people in the upstairs flat (footsteps, phone alerts etc) but I sleep with headphones in so not too much of a problem for me.

Highly recommend, we had a nice stay. Really enjoyed it. Rashid is a helpful host . The place is easy to find with clear instructions . We would consider to stay again if we are that way. Thank you

This was honestly a superbly kept and maintained place. I’d highly recommend to anybody in Derby for a short or long-term stay. Very spacious which is rare and a gem of a find for the UK!

We stayed at Lyla's place for 9 days over Christmas and New Year. A lovely cute tiny cottage. Lyla left us fruit , biscuits and chocolates which was lovely. We were very comfortable in the cottage.

Host Chris was very welcoming and informative. Lodge was a lovely retreat for two in perfect location, very private and peaceful. Would highly recommend local farm shop Farndon Fields Market Harborough, great local produce and we ate a delicious breakfast there. Market Harborough itself worth a visit too. Local pub Coach & Horses Lubenham is under new management, very friendly and good selection of well kept beers. Would highly recommend, we are already looking to book again. Ian & Gee
