Ray’s place was absolutely lovely. Went there with my dog and we both enjoyed. There was a lovely walk nearby and the surrounding areas were beautiful. I saw Ray on my first day and he checked up and made me feel very welcome. The cottage is lovely and well equipped. Would definitely stay again :)

Paul was friendly and in regular communication throughout a last minute booking process. He was flexible to my late arrival and ensured that the property was immaculate upon arrival. I needed a quiet, relaxed atmosphere where I could unwind following long days at work, the property provided this in abundance! It's only a shame I arrived and left each day during darkness as I couldn't properly enjoy the beautiful surroundings. I will 100% look to use again if I am in the area & would recommend to anyone in need of a nice place to stay for a short break.

We had a wonderful stay. The location was perfect, offering a serene and picturesque setting that was both amazing and peaceful. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The pod itself was like a TARDIS—compact yet surprisingly spacious and equipped with everything we could possibly need. It was a fantastic experience for our children, who loved interacting with the animals and enjoying the countryside surroundings. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we highly recommend it.

Great stay, very peaceful in a private location on the farm. The Shepard's hut was small but had everything you needed. Went to The Cock in Muggington one night (nice but quite expensive, 40 mins walk to the pub from the hut up the road) and cooked one night on the stove and bought our own BBQ - this worked really well. The fire pit was awesome and easy to light. Super hot water, nice after a days walking. Totally recommend if you want to get away from it all and be on the edge of the Peak district, and thank you for the milk and bubbles!

Absolutely beautiful barn conversion. Everything was immaculately clean. Located in glorious countryside and surrounded by other beautiful villages. Very handy if you ever need to get to Nottingham, Grantham or Leicester. Although the area is rural, there’s a great choice of wonderful restaurants and pubs, serving delicious food. Newly opened The Martins Arms in Colston Bassett - recently taken-over by Masterchef The Professionals winner Laurence Henry is a must ! They also welcome well behaved dogs. A summer kitchen is being built, so expect delicious high end barbecued food ! It’s only a 5 minute car ride away. The beds and sofa in The Annex are very comfy. Great Smart tv, central heating and shower. Sarah is very responsive, warm and helpful. A delightful host. Will definitely return.

We have just spent a great couple of relaxing, peaceful, enjoyable days at Woodside Cottage. This cottage is beautifully furnished, exactly as the photos and description said. It is well furnished , immaculately clean, warm, and bright with good quality bedding, towels etc. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We were welcomed with cup cakes and milk. Great to enjoy with a cup of tea after a long journey. Tony and Deon were very good hosts, friendly, helpful and gave excellent recommendations for restaurants. We are hoping to book here again, but, for a longer stay next time. Thank you both

Everything was brilliant. The review could end there really! Such a lovely property and very well appointed throughout. As a large family (with dogs) getting something beautiful, peacefull and homely for our Easter break felt like a long shot. But Poplars Farm was absolutely perfect. We paid for the hot-tub as an extra and had 2 very happy little boys in every day. We also discovered that the whole farm can be booked as wedding venue. The bar and covered courtyard were also fantastically equipped... my daughter is now planning to use it for her's next year. A 100% A* 10/10 review.
