Vacation rentals with lake access in Lake Charlevoix

Our stay at this beautiful lake cottage on Lake Margrethe was absolutely perfect! The location is unbeatable—just steps from the lake with its clear waters and sandy shore, perfect for swimming or kayaking (and we loved the 2 kayaks provided!). The cottage itself is cozy, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The level lot made it easy to access the water, and being surrounded by trails was a huge bonus for hiking and exploring the outdoors. A wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Michigan.

We enjoyed our stay! The house was as described- very clean and nicely updated, in a quiet neighborhood. We saw gorgeous sunrises over the lake, and stunning fall colors all around. We even got to take the kayaks out to the island. We appreciated Brendan’s tips for the house and the area. The fully fenced yard was perfect for our dogs. Brendan was easy to communicate with and made sure we had a good stay.

Spent the weekend here for my wife's birthday with some friends. Great location for winery tours/local food, and everything you would need inside and out. Roger is a very responsive host and willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay as welcoming as possible. Plenty of room inside the house for sleeping for 3 adult couples, could've even fit a 4th no problem in the loft. Home was spacious and the screened in porch is a great hangout spot overlooking the lake.

This place was great!! Long Lake is beautiful, clean, and warm. We had a ton of fun swimming and using the kayaks and paddleboards provided. Life jackets available to use as well. It's a super close drive to Traverse City, and not terribly far from sleeping Bear Dunes, making it a really great location. The full sizeds were comfortable enough, but a little tight. The bedrooms were roomy. There is only one air conditioning unit in the main living space, not in the bedrooms. But we were provided with multiple fans which helped. The road is busy, which is ok, but made opening the window at night for cool air isn't really an option with car noise. The kitchen was fantastic. All the needed utensils and cookware and huge bonus of providing Tupperware to store leftovers which was a great added touch. Hosts were also very responsive and flexible with check in, which was very appreciated. Overall, had a fantastic time exploring the area and so nice having a homey and beautiful place to stay!

This is a fabulous property and great venue to share with family and friends. The accommodations were as stated and beautifully decorated. The sunrise views over the bay were spectacular and spending the day playing in the water was an added bonus. We celebrated my wife’s 60th and had a truly wonderful time. Although a little pricey I believe you get what you pay for. It was worth it! Tristan was a wonderful host and very responsive. 5 star in my book

Angela and Jason were just terrific Hosts! They were very responsive and easy going! Our stay felt more like a grounding retreat! The amenities and shared spaces were perfect for small groups. My favorite spot was the wooden swing at sunrise with a cup of coffee in hand and my warm throw. That view is just so beautiful!! It was exactly what the kids and i needed after a crazy week of going back to school! My boys loved kayaking. They packed their fishing gear and set off first thing in the am. We loved the pontoon as well! It was nice to take out the whole family on it as the kiddos enjoyed the tube! We docked at the sand bar and the kids got to swim in 2feet of pristine water! After soaking up the sun, we came in to bbq off the deck and later enjoyed s'mores around the bonfire. We were mesmerized by the stars in the sky! There were so many of them! I could get used to Waking up in the morning to a view like that! We will definitely be visiting again!

Wonderful stay in northern Michigan! We had plenty of space for both families, enjoyed local hiking trails and outdoor activities, and woke up to a beautiful sunrise on the water every morning. We also enjoyed the hot tub while ✨stargazing✨on the coast of lake Charlevoix. It was a perfect getaway!

It was absolutely beautiful. The trees had just changed colors and it was such a nice view! It was quiet and private. During business hours, you can hear the wine tasting room but that didn’t bother me at all. We stopped in and the staff were super friendly and helpful. So happy to have visited. Highly recommend!

Angela’s place was amazing! When we walked in, we were in awestruck by how classy the furniture selections and decorating were. Also, this was probably the cleanest Air BNB we have stayed in. Angela was very communicative, and she provided great recommendations for places to dine. We enjoyed the fire pit one evening, with the reflection of the full moon over the bay…so cool! We would love to come back to the area, and this place will certainly be our first choice for places to stay!

this place was absolutely wonderful. i came here for my fall break with my partner, and it made an incredible trip. it is extremely cute, and feels very private despite being an upstairs apartment. there was something new to do every day, and the guidebook included at the apartment helped IMMENSELY. it’s nice and modern on the inside, but still has that “up north” cozy feel that makes you want to bundle up and drink a hot chocolate, lol. everything about this stay was easy and extremely navigable. i didn’t have to think about anything regarding the place, how to get places, what to do around town— and that’s why it was absolutely perfect. i didn’t have to worry about ANYTHING. it was awesome!! we were so sad to go when it was over, and wished we could have stayed for longer. we will absolutely be coming back :)

My partner and I’s stay at Jeffrey and Holly’s suite was outstanding. The space felt incredibly homely, with cozy decor and thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. It was spotless and well-equipped with snacks, coffee, beach amenities, you name it - and we loved using their kayaks for exploring Silver Lake. They were friendly and provided smooth check-in instructions. The price for the area far beats any hotel we could have booked considering how comfortable, clean, and private the unit was. As other reviews said, mechanical noises and footsteps can be heard, but this did not bother us at all. We loved this unit so much, we will probably check the availability for our next trip to TC. This was hands down the best AirBNB we’ve ever stayed at. Highly recommend!

We very much enjoyed our getaway on Stevens Lake. The setting of this house is peaceful, quiet, and perfect for unwinding. We loved listening to the loon on the lake and our son had a great time down by the lake. The house itself was clean and comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. We arrived late at night on a foggy night, but Jane's directions were perfectly clear so we had no trouble locating this out of the way spot. Would highly recommend.

We had to come into Traverse City for work, our crew enjoyed our stay, it was easy, convenient and much nicer to come back to after a long day than any hotel room could be. We look forward to booking again in the future!

Our stay at Kathy’s place was perfect! The rental was spotless upon are arrival and Kathy was extremely flexible with check in and checkout. Her communication before and during our stay was outstanding and prompt. Kathy went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable during are stay. I would definitely recommend her place and happily rent from her again in the future.

Easy to find. Place was clean and Madison responded quickly to questions. Will definitely stay here again when we’re in the area.

The cottage was exactly what we expected, and more so. The view of the lake was just as spectacular in the morning as it was in the evenings!! The mist clearing on the lake in the morning sun reveals the changing colors of trees in the Fall Season. At night, the constellations sparkle strongly and clearly in the dark sky. And the sounds of silence increase the sense of peace and wonder. This is what you can experience whether sitting around a lakeside fire or sitting in the front room of the cottage. And making a home cooked meal is a pleasure as well...the kitchen supports good cooking and the dining room table supports warm and interesting conversations. Thanks, Leanne

Great, quite location. Well equipped and clean. Our dog loved the big yard to run while we relaxed on the nice deck. It's very dark at night, take a big basket for all the stars. Loved it, thanks Michelle

This cabin was fabulous. I've stayed in a lot of Airbnb's and I've rarely stayed somewhere that was so well appointed. I mean, a pastry/basting brush to put the egg wash on the croissants? Yep! The bed was comfortable, the wood-burning fireplace was cozy and usable (not always the case), the setting was glorious, the hot tub was perfect, Dorene and John were responsive, generous, and friendly -- they were sure to check in to see how much snow we'd gotten in case we needed a plow and/or a snow shovel (which we did and they took care of). Just lovely, reasonable, kind hosts and a well taken care of a fabulously situated cabin. There's a hard-pack trail right behind the cabin that goes for miles -- wonderful for long walks/bike rides. Not sure how noisy it is during snowmobile season, since we left just as the season was opening. That's the only question I'd have in the future. But, I would not hesitate to stay here or to rent another place from Dorene and John.
