Lake houses in Lake Atitlán

We love our stay at the villa. It’s gated and private with direct access to the lake behind the house. On clear days you can see the three volcanoes at the lake. The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Very peaceful, you can hear birds singing. The interior is beautiful and cozy for the four of us. The house manager Juan is there during the day and took great care of us during our stay. We love that we are just a few steps from the center of the village with a church, market and few local shops. Santa Catalina Palopo is a charming, small, very local village. Just 10-15 mins tuk tuk ride away from Panajachel where you can catch public boat to visit other parts of the lake. We are glad we picked this place as our home base during our visit.

Truly stunning home in an idyllic landscape. I love the raw connection to nature and expansive views of the lake. The hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive - a wonderful stay overall. Would recommend to others ands stay here again!

This place was absolutely beautiful. The ladies that came and cooked for us were amazing. Food was amazing and so worth hiring them to cook for us. There really isnt anywhere to get food from around the area. Josue went and purchased the groceries for us and made sure that we had everything we needed. I cant wait to book this place again.

We loved our stay! The hosts are very communicative and helpful. Check in instructions were clear and communicated well beforehand, and if any issues came up they were sorted immediately (we ran out of gas for the stove at one point, and it was fixed and replaced within 15 minutes!). The gardener was super nice and checked in on us regularly. The views are incredible and the house is comfortable. The wifi was strong and consistent for remote work. Definitely bring things from the supermarket prior to arrival so you don't have to boat back and forth. It's an eco house, so yes there are bugs, but nothing scary or that really impacted our experience. It's a really great spot if you're looking to escape!

Casita Piegatto is a beautiful place to stay. Immaculate views and interior as well. Alvaro and his team are amazing. They help bring your luggage and they can help arrange your rides and activities. Something to keep in mind is that there are stairs that you must climb from the docks to get to the airbnb. The only feed back for improvement would be to have A/C in more than 1 room.

A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the larger cities/surrounding areas. Beautiful views! Very serene and relaxing.

Literally a slice of paradise. We received a really detailed document explaining how to get to Casa Serenidad and recommendations for food and fun. Galileo met us at the dock and helped answer all of our questions. We hiked to Casa del Mundo, went paddle boarding, and ate at Cafe Sabor in Santa Cruz. We spent a ton of time just relaxing in the garden of Casa Serenidad and soaking in the peacefulness of the lake.

Stunning place! Just amazing. We had the best time with our two boys (age 3 and 5, so just big enough to walk the steep stairs). Spectacular views. Secluded, yet close to everything and very easy to catch a lancha to the other pueblos. The house is spacious, high ceiling and tasty furniture. A place you would want to live. And never leave. Dock is a bit high, but there’s a small «beach» just next to it where it’s nice to swim. Isla Verde next door has great food and nice ambient. Kristiina was super easy going and gave great advice. 10/10!

At the top of many steps with a beautiful view. Enough room for three people. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend, but caution that everywhere on the property are steps, so may be a challenge for people with mobility issues.

Beautiful and tranquil place. Perfect to retreat while still having easy access to the town of San Marcos. You will only want to stay here if walking up hills is not a problem for you. Getting your belongings to the house will require a private boat or an extra fee on the public boat unless you have very few things. The place is clean and has hot water and is safe. There will be other people using the beach at times but many times it’s completely private and serene. Niels is a great communicator and Victor who lives on the premises is very helpful.

Excellent place, we loved it, we usually go to San Marcos but this accommodation has been one of my favorites. Eric is very friendly and was attentive to us at all times, we felt right at home. Access to the lake is very cool, and it is surrounded by a lot of nature, perfect to disconnect.

Wonderful place, highly recommend! Quiet and peaceful right next to a new public dock (ie easy access), and just a short walk away from the main parts of San Marcos. Sevonne was super responsive and helpful. STUNNING volcano views and a beautifully maintained lawn and garden. Thank you!

I stayed at Gonna’s place with my husband and daughter for a weekend in Santiago and we loved it! It felt like a little piece of paradise. The plants and all surroundings were so beautiful and we really enjoyed the amenities. Kayaking in the morning, warming up in the sauna, and watching the sunset from the hot tub on the lake was a real treat. And my daughter loved the pool. The beds were really cozy too. I would recommend!

Nice house, comfortable to rest, spacious, the internal parking fits 1 car well. Basic utensils. The only drawback we had was the hot water in the shower, very complicated to use, no matter how hard we tried and also the person in charge came to explain, it was also difficult for him, it was very difficult to bathe. Otherwise, a house we would definitely return to!

Beautiful house right on the lake, bedrooms were very comfortable. I liked having the kitchen and lounge open air as that’s where I want to be when at the lake. We enjoyed the dogs, the friendly old cat and all the birds. Tons of flowers. Elaine was very helpful with trail info and a boat contact. We didn’t end up kayaking this time but you’re perfectly situated to do so.

Such a lovely family, they even gave us freshly baked bread and other goodies! Comfortable beds, well-appointed kitchen and great roof-top terrace.

The view was amazing. Great spot to relax. Less than 10 minutes to the road where you can get a tuk tuk or about a 20 minute walk to the centre of town. Hosts were very welcoming and accommodating.

Nicolas is an exceptional host, beyond the warm welcome, he was of great help for the duration of our stay (with his friend Chema aka el mejor) The apartment matches the photos and the beds are very comfortable! A fully equipped kitchen and a small terrace overlooking the lake All in all, a perfect apartment for your stay at the lake!

The house is great and the rooms were quite comfortable. We got to our place very late but our hosts was quite understanding. the location is very central and the parking is a great help.

The place is incredible and the staff were amazing. They were so friendly and helpful. The host was very responsive and an absolute pleasure to speak with. The property feels like a secret garden, tucked into the hillside. It offers privacy and tranquility, unlike any place I’ve stayed. The grounds are maintained, as are the villas. The pride of ownership is very evident. The villa we had was gorgeous. Would definitely come back and stay again.
