Cottage vacation rentals in La Jolla, San Diego

My family loved this place! It is walking distance to the beach, coffee shops, eateries and convenience stores. You'll get used to the airplanes flying overhead every 20 minutes (and they don't fly after about 11 pm, so that's nice). Check in, and out, was super easy. We're already planning on coming back for summer!!!!

Everything was perfect and peaceful and we enjoyed our stay very much!!! it was convenient that The washer and dryer were there. Definitely would stay again.

What can I say, my wife and I had a great trip and a big reason is because of this house. Perfect for a day and even better for longer than that. So close to the beach and the hot tub was perfect for those chilly mornings/evenings. Thank you so much and we will be back for sure!!

We fell in love with this quintessential La Jolla beach bungalow, and felt immediately at home. We especially appreciated family dinners in the spacious private backyard, and walking to the beach, restaurants, and playground. Chip and Elise were perfect hosts and always very responsive. We had an amazing stay and are already planning a return trip!

This house was adorable, clean and in a great location. If it’s going to be hot while you stay, the house does get very warm in the late afternoon and takes a while to cool back down when the sun goes down. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking. There were plenty of beach towels and extra towels. We had a great experience and would stay again given the opportunity.

We had a great stay at this apartment. The kids and I especially loved the hot tub, which was a fun and relaxing way to wind down each evening. I didn’t get a chance to try the sauna, but it’s a nice extra touch. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped. I also appreciated that the owners provided tea and coffee for their guests. While the apartment is technically suitable for more, I’d recommend it for no more than two people, as the sofa bed wasn’t the most comfortable for sleeping. The location was excellent, and we had no trouble finding parking right in front of the house. Finally, the host was very responsive and attentive. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.

We stayed a week and this small house had everything two people needed for a very pleasant stay. It is very comfortable, relaxed, but also clean and tidy. There were many small touches that made it special. Location put you right in the midst of coffee shops and restaurants.

Great place right in the heart of a quiet Pacific Beach neighborhood. Two bedrooms with comfortable queen beds, a nice-sized living room and modern kitchen. The washer/dryer was also very convenient. We also enjoyed sitting at the outdoor table on a couple of occasions that's near the alleyway. The location is very convenient, just a ~10 minute walk down to Trader Joes and the main drag in PB. Great place and a great value.

My wife, 2-year old daughter, and I stayed here for an extended weekend and had a great time. Perfect location near Belmont Park and close enough to walk to Pacific Beach. We would definitely stay here again.

I regularly visit the South Park / North Park neighborhoods of San Diego for the weekend and usually stay in Airbnbs. The price point for two nights is almost always between $400 - $500 after all the fees and taxes for ADU-style units like this, but the quality range is wide. Devon's place was a bit above average and I would stay here again. I appreciated the snacks in the room and the bathroom gets great light. I think some small and inexpensive updates to the outdoor space (i.e. lighting, seating) would go a long way given how pleasant the space is. As for the location - you can't go wrong. Only a few blocks away from a bunch of great restaurants / breweries, and coffee shops and it's a great neighborhood for walking and running (save for all the California drivers who seem to drive 40 MPH no matter what). An easy 10-minute Uber to downtown as well.

Second time at this Airbnb!! Totally lovely place to stay. The beds were extra comfy and all the furnishings and supplies were comfortable and durable: really feels like home. Walking distance to the beach and 2 groceries, also Kate Sessions is a really beauty park (you enter the natural area from the north side). On the walk up there, you get panoramic views of San Diego and Isla Coronado. Then the chaparral vegetation of the park was filled with wildflowers! Kind of a well-kept secret park, that you can walk to!

Great experience, great location. It's on a main street so it's busy with traffic, at times. Not a bad thing, but just something to point out. The front is private and gated from the traffic by a beautiful and inviting area to lounge and hang out with our pups. Lovely home with all that we needed during our stay. Great host and super responsive! Would love to stay again!

Victor was an outstanding host. I loved the cottage and its beautiful surroundings. I was on an extended work trip and brought my dog along, and the hospitality was exceptional throughout my entire stay. My dog enjoyed the enclosed backyard and felt very safe. I also appreciated the Brita pitcher in the refrigerator. I highly recommend this Airbnb! Happy travels! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have stayed with Lisa multiple times in the past year. It’s like a home away from home. Very easy to get to and convenient to visiting friends and family. Very quiet neighborhood and cozy place inside.

Jordy’s place was perfect for my weekend in San Diego! The house was so charming and had all the amenities listed. Jordy was very communicative and answered all my questions and made sure check in was a breeze. Super convenient location too; it’s central to all the main things to do in the city! I would definitely stay here when I visit again.

I found it refreshing that there wasn't a request for cleaning as a guest on top of a cleaning fee charge. Place was great overall and in a convenient location! Thanks Matt.

What a lovely place. And an amazing host. The place is awesome. Just when we couldn't believe how many snacks/drinks Robert left for us, he delivered a huge Easter platter with delicious baked goods. One of the Airbnb experiences we have ever had. Thank you!

Rachel was an excellent host and made our stay very welcoming. She's an excellent and clear communicator and was very helpful with recommendations and answering my questions in advance of our stay. The pullout sofa was surprisingly comfortable to sleep on and the string lights outside the window are on a timer, so they go off at midnight. If you're picky about your pillows, you might want to bring your own if you plan to sleep on the couch. There's two good ones on the master bed but the extra pillows for sofa bed are pretty basic. Highly recommend Mission Baja Tacos and The Funky Lemon which are both walkable and a few blocks away. And if you want a really great guided hiking tour to the slot canyons near Torrey Pines and/or the sea caves at Sunset Cliffs / Gaia's Gate -@grangernature is also highly recommended. We did two hikes in two days with him and he's great. Was an Airbnb suggestion that was a great add on to our San Diego experience.

Lauri's house was a delight to stay in. my family and I were so happy the entire stay. The home is peaceful, private, walkable, and has access to phenomenal restaurants from formal to relaxed and kid friendly. and the beaches are stunning. We hope to stay again some day.

Really can’t say enough about this wonderful cottage that we stayed at. The cottage itself is extremely well kept. Plenty of space for our family to spread out and enjoy. The location of the cottage couldn’t be better. A two minute walk from the beach and a 10 minute walk into downtown Carlsbad. Our host was extremely kind and responsive, and we’re very appreciative of her and the hosting.

I had an extended stay at Daniel’s place and had a great time. The place could not be in a more perfect spot close to everything you could want to do. It was the perfect California experience. Daniel was also responsive and provided great recommendations. Overall this was an awesome time!
