Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Kona

Great spot to unwind. Incredible view from the lanai and everything you could need to relax. Pebble Beach 3 blocks away at the bottom of the hill is a great sunset spot, and it's a quick drive to some great snorkeling/swimming spots. Tons of little honor-system fruit stands nearby, and excellent poke on the main road towards Captain Cook. The host, Minh, was a great communicator, preemptively answering pretty much any question I could have come up with. Minh also sent a nice alert about surf conditions with a recommendation for a sheltered place to snorkel. Sorry to have to leave.

This is our first Air bnb while staying in Hawaii and it was so worth it. The views were absolutely breathtaking. Serene and peaceful location. We didn't use the pool, as we were on the go too much. We grilled steaks our first night in, having dinner on the lanai. Volcano National Park in about a 2 hour drive away, definitely a must see! Also, the drive way can look intimidating, but the cameras on the BMW X7 helped me tremendously getting up and down the drive. I highly suggest NOT backing in. I learned that our first day up 😉

My first time staying at a vacation rental on the Big Island, and it was a wonderful experience. The host was very friendly, and all the information provided was clear. The location was excellent, very close to Kona town. The house was clean and tidy, and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful.

Perfect place for gathering. The communal areas were big enough to fit us all, but also plenty of space to retreat to. Pool was a huge hit.

I stayed at Jenne’s place with my husband, toddler, and my parents and it was the perfect spot for our big island trip. The space was large enough for all of us and provided the perfect environment for our relaxing family vacation. We really loved the location! It wasn’t too far from town but felt removed from the noise and bustle of the towns. It was also a lot cooler being up so high and we loved listening to the birds and frogs and having an uninterrupted view of the ocean and sunset. The house came with all the amenities described and Debi was a fantastic host, she spent time showing us the trees and fruit and left a little treat for us. She also helped with the Babyquip delivery while we were out and about before check in which I greatly appreciated. I could not have asked for a better spot and this one deserves all the great reviews!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Milolii Whale House! The house itself is very cute and so well decorated. Our favorite part was the wrap around porch where we enjoyed all of our meals and watched the sunsets. The pool was great, and the provided beach gear allowed us to fully enjoy our beach trips. The property manager was very sweet and helpful, and she shared some history about the area which was really special. We highly recommend this beautiful home and hope to return someday!

We really enjoyed our stay here at the plantation it was so peaceful. Such a great place to stay at. Would love to come back in the future. Thank you sue for everything!

This is a very special place. It has a beautiful view and very private. We loved the location. Read the reviews. We stocked up on food and water at Safeway in Kona then traveled south. Nice big fridge. Beautiful screen in eating area. Everything was very nice. Very budget friendly. It is a steepish driveway and my husband had to back up the drive to get out. 5 star.

Lynn is a great host and her apartment is perfectly located in a tranquil setting. If you are looking for a quiet and well appointed apartment that is still close enough to drive to town, this is it. We used Lynn’s apartment as a base for the Kona Ironman. The location up the mountain allowed an escape from the hustle of town and respite from heat in the evenings. Perfect!

Erika’s condo was amazing! It had all the amenities I was looking for. The condo was clean and very roomy. The location was perfect in walking distance to all the local restaurants and centrally located to close to the airport, beaches and other attractions on the Big Island. Erika is very quick in responding to any questions. I would highly recommend her condo to anyone planning a vacation to the Big Island of Hawaii. I will comeback and will definitely stay at Erika’s condo.

This place is absolutely beautiful, even prettier than the pics. The beds are comfortable, a fully equipped kitchen. Such a cozy house with great vibe. Too bad we only stayed for 2 days. 100% will come back and highly recommend.

Vlad and Maile’s place was clean, well kept and stocked well with necessities. You could feel the attention to detail that went into setting up the place . The view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking.

Jon and Mariluz are fantastic hosts. We loved our time in their suite, and would definitely recommend it to others. They gave us great recommendations and were gracious hosts. We'd book again without hesitation!

Della and Max were very friendly and nice. They were very helpful with checking-in our room when we had trouble. They both shared a bucket full of fresh off-the-tree macadamia nuts which were delicious! Max shared some local suggestions with us as well. It is a quite place and isn't too far outside of Kona. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Excellent location and beautiful Island home. Dave was super responsive. The views are something else, particularly at sunset. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a Kona gem. I am coming back!!

This place was exactly as advertised and more. The home itself is clean and inviting with all the basics one would need. It is close to a grocery store, lovely beaches, and many great restaurants. It was quiet and peaceful when we were resting, but also close to many activities we wanted to do. Vincent was kind enough to provide beach towels, chairs, and many other items that made beach days so enjoyable. It was such a wonderful place to stay, anyone would feel right at home.

Beautiful clean condo in a nice area. We loved our condo and it was awesome working with Melissa. There were so many extras in the condo which made it really nice. We would definitely stay there again.

EXCELLENT view - steps from the ocean. Beautiful sunsets to enjoy from the lanai. The unit is well appointed (e.g., great spice selection, wine glasses, extra towels, etc.). Very tidy and clean. Host is proactive and responsive. Great three-night stay. Try Da Poke Shack nearby…it’s excellent.

Great location! This place was close to everything that we had planned on the Kona side. Just around the corner from Keauhau harbor and Ali’i drive, about 5 minutes from Kahalu’u beach park, and only about 25 minutes from the airport. It’s quite spacious and the AC unit in the bedroom was a welcome bonus.

We had a fantastic time during our stay! It is truly in the heart of everything you want to do while in Kona! C Kelly was super responsive and helpful from pre check-in to check out. I highly recommend choosing this for your Kona vacation stay!

This place had everything we needed and was centrally located on Alii drive. The only complaint would be against the condominiums themselves and all of the rules that the condo manager enforced against the travelers including late time constraints using the pool. But the host can’t be dinged for that, just be aware there are a lot of stringent rules and time constraints on amenity uses

We were awestruck by this location. Absolutely amazing views from the lanai and bedroom. Beautiful ocean breeze kept us cool. The unit is spacious with everything you need. Our host was super responsive when we had questions. Cannot wait to return.
