Family-friendly vacation rentals in Kidlington

High and Little Barn were both truly gorgeous homes to stay in for the weekend. The trip was for a group of 9 women on their annual girls getaway wanting somewhere to unwind and relax and StayCotswolds did not disappoint! The house had everything we could possibly need whilst being a great base while we went and explored further afield. Great value for money, would definitely stay again if in the area

It was a perfect peaceful spot to escape reality for a few days - the hut is finished beautifully and was super comfortable for a couple. The surroundings were also a highlight in the winter sun. The kitchen was fully functioning and allowed us to enjoy an evening in cooking. The secluded nature of hut meant driving to every activity or restaurant but there are some great places around. The hot tub took longer than expected to heat up to a pretty mild temperature but we were staying in -5 weather and the hosts were attentive in helping with it. Overall, an ideal getaway in the country and would be happy to revisit.

This property is fabulous. It’s rare that the pictures don’t do justice to how lovely a property is but I was delighted on this occasion to find it was even nicer than I’d expected. I would honestly consider changing the photos used as we loved so much about it that I didn’t get from the pictures in the site - the location of the hot tub, the feeling of space in the integrated room and how cosy it was too. Loved it!

Our group of 8 really enjoyed it here, Stephanie's place is very cosy and secluded so great for a getaway/bonding time. The house was clean and the amenities (snooker table!) kept everyone busy. It was also nice to have the choice of two dining spaces, both in the Apple Barn as well as in the main house. It was very cold when we visited so we didn't get to enjoy sitting outdoors, but this would be a real treat when it gets warmer. Overall highly recommend.

This house is just amazing and very spacious. The kitchen boasts a beautiful stone floor, an Aga which keeps constantly warm, and a large table and chairs we could all comfortably sit round. Garden is massive and the bedrooms all really comfortable. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough - great communication with Caroline throughout. The double lounge boasts lots of sofas with a large log burner to keep nice and warm. Home from home. Simply perfect.

This was our second time staying at Jo’s place, and for good reason… it’s perfect! Very clean, beautiful location and well-equipped cottage. We’ll be booking again for trip number 3!

My family and I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage. Excellent location, within walking distance of Stow-on-the-Wold village. Super clean and cosy cottage, plenty of space for us, and perfect little garden for the dog. Easily accessible with parking available. David was a very attentive host and responded quickly to our messages. There was a lovely touch made by leaving local chocolates upon our arrival, and fresh milk. Perfect. Highly recommend. Family friendly!

Sarah was a friendly and responsive host. The cottage was beautiful and we were welcomed with fresh milk and Prosecco which was a really lovely touch! The cottage is situated in beautiful surroundings and a 45 minute walk to the gorgeous Burford. We had a fabulous, relaxing New year stay! Thankyou Sarah xx

Beautiful cottage that was perfect for our stay. Super clean, cosy and comfortable. Felt like home from home. Great walks from the doorstep, including one into Stow-on-the-Wold, a lovely picturesque market town with a good selection of independent cafes and shops. All in all, a lovely relaxing weekend.

We have just got home from a fabulous stay at Lion Cottage. It is definitely one of the best cottages we have stayed in. It is warm and cosy and spotlessly clean. The bedding Pat provides is high quality and smelt fresh and clean. A big tick with us! It is easy to park and the location is fab. Brockley is a real hidden gem in the Cotswolds and the cafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner is a must! We ended up eating there everyday! All in all a fab stay and highly recommended.

What a delightful cottage on a beautiful piece of property that we and our daughter’s cocker spaniel greatly enjoyed! This lovely decorated cottage is spacious, quaint, and had everything we needed. Breakfast supplies were most appreciated. Plenty of wood was supplied to feed the fireplace which added to the charm. Great proximity to endless walks and lovely villages. It was a pleasure to meet our host Joanna; her assistant, Lucy, communicates effectively and quickly. What a lovely place to relax in serene, peaceful surroundings.

It was a lovely stay at a beautiful cottage. The cottage was everything we hoped for a little two day get away. We spent time on local walking footpaths and getting to know the local pubs. Our recommendations are; The Falcon, Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn and The Blinking Owl over the road. The owners of the Blinking Owl were lovely hosts, really traditional English pub and great food from Sylvia! We spent our New Years Eve there and it was a lovely evening. Couldnt have asked for a better stay. Mary was super helpful and responsive on the run up to the stay. We hope to visit again soon.

We had a lovely 4 nights here over New Year, with a very energetic pup who struggles a bit with outside noises. This cottage was perfect for us - I was worried that bc of it' location we would have people walking back and forth past it but once there you can see how the position of it allows it to feel completely private... in the 5 days we were there we did not see a single person unless we were out on one of the many stunning walks in the area. Tim has enclosed fields right next to the property which we were given the code for and were allowed to access whenever we wanted to let the pup have a run (early morning and nights ) very handy and made all the difference. The little towns were close and convinent if we needed to grab the odd item here and there . On arrival Paulina had a welcome tray for us in the kitchen with some lovely fruit cake, chocolates and biscuits, with some milk ready for our arrival in the fridge. I can highly recommend this property! Thk you Tim & Paulina.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Adam’s place. His home is immaculate, and beautifully decorated. A fabulous layout which works well. Its location is handy for all the local attractions. We even had complimentary Prosecco and fresh milk and a huge bunch of divine white roses! Highly recommend this cottage. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you Adam, it was perfect.

The house was lovely, had everything you could possibly think of for a comfortable stay. We stayed with three kids (one baby) and it was just perfect. Our kids LOVED the pool (super warm and Just right for the kids) and the games room. The welcome basket was amazing and super generous- best gift ever!

Fantastic cottage. Felt very luxurious and private. Nicky made sure we had everything we needed. the spot felt very private and had great views. We especially enjoyed The Bull Pub which was recommended.

Every step of the surrounding area was filled with trees, flowers, meadows, horses, sheep, streams, rivers, hikers and their dogs, pubs, antique shops, cafes, a great butcher, wine shops, M&S at the BP Station, and restaurants. There were four wonderfully marked trails that we explored, and we wish we had hiked them more frequently. Easy rides to Broadway, Burton-on-Water, Burford, Daylesford Farms, Blenheim, Cheltenham Lower Slaughter, etc. The cottage is immaculate and appointed with every convenience - lots of thought went into so many details. The bed linens, pillows, and towels are fab. The kitchen has every tool needed for cooking, entertaining, and cleaning, including a dishwasher. The washer and dryer are new, fast, and effective. There is tons of light in every room and a fireplace for cozy nights when the evenings are cool. Hugh, Rosie, and their family are delightful, dignified, and full of warmth. We hope to see them again.

A beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting. The perfect place to stay to re charge the batteries. Our weekend was spent relaxing in front of the log fire, walking our dogs along the many footpaths on the doorstep and enjoying the lovely food at the dog friendly local pubs, which are only a short walk away. Rachel was a wonderful host, responsive and helpful and the cottage was spotless upon our arrival.

We were a family party with ages from 5 to 75 . Lots for everyone to do ( swimming , tennis, billiards/snooker & beautiful walks all there) There was enough space both inside the wonderfully converted barn and outside in the extensive grounds to enjoy each others company without being overcrowded. Thanks Sarah for enabling a lovely weekend .

I’d like to thank gardener Rex for answering all my questions throughout my stay. Without you Rex, it could have been tricky to communicate. Anyway, I and my family had a good time at Christopher’s place. It’s a place for both peaceful break or active sporting time. Great garden for a calm walk throughout a day, great pool with a hammam(a steam sauna), a tennis court…my family really enjoyed all the facilities. Also kitchen was really well equipped and a welcome bread and milk were delicious! Location was also great. Famous Cotswold big name spots, restaurants, farm markets are within 20 min by car.

We stayed for a couple of nights close to Christmas, wonderful stay in this beautiful period home, with the village looking very pretty and festive. Having use of a sauna and pool, while it was frosty outside; made our stay particularly enjoyable!
