Gunnar’s place is absolutely perfect for exploring Rosendal. If you’re in town for Restaurants Iris, you can see the Salmon Eye boats from the window! Restaurants and grocery stores are mere minutes away and you’re at the foot of some of the most incredible hikes. Rarely can you find some a delightful Airbnb with perfect water and mountain views, but you’ve found it here. The cherry on top is Gunnar is an incredibly welcoming, helpful host. I wasn’t arriving until late and had to be on some NYC-timed work calls past when the restaurants in town would be closed, so Gunnar not only gave me some great suggestions for getting fed but even offered to pick up food for me. I can’t wait to visit again!

Everything is great for those who like it lonely! Useful to know with young children is that the house has three floors connected by very steep ladders. It wasn't a problem for us.

We stayed in this house with our family for a few days, and it's a great place to enjoy some peace and quiet. It feels like staying at a fisherman’s house, which we really like. The location is great for nearby trips—we visited Trolltunga and Bergen. There was a chocolate bar waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived—thank you for the hospitality!
