Great location

Guests who stayed here in the past year loved the location.
This 20' yurt sits in a private location on our 36 acre hobby farm. We border the 800 acre Kelly Wildlife Sanctuary with trails and a 300 acre pond.
The yurt has power, cold running h20, A/C, induction cook top, fridge, micro, coffee maker, cookware, dishes, glasses, cutlery and silverware.
It contains a queen sized bed, full sized futon, air mattress, table/chairs, and wood stove.
There is an outdoor shower with hot h20 and the restroom is an outdoor privy.
There is a fire pit with seating.

The space
This is a 20' yurt. There is seasonal cold running water only. Hot water can be heated on the cooktop or small hot water heater. There is no indoor bathroom but we do have an enclosed private outdoor shower with hot water. The bathroom is an outdoor port-a-potty. There is a fridge, microwave, french press for coffee, woodstove, queen bed, full bed and an air mattress.
The yurt has a wood stove for heating and a air-conditioner for cooling.
There is a small outside deck and and an outdoor fire pit with seating. There are some mowed walking trails on the property and we border the 800 acre Earl Kelly Wildlife Preserve with a 300 acre pond and hiking trails.
We have goats and chickens which can be visited by guests by permission.
We allow dogs for a $35/night fee but no aggressive breeds. All dogs must be pre-approved. Doggy daycare is available at our discretion.

Guest access
Guest can walk the 36 acres property and the adjacent 800 acre wildlife preserve. Please assume all fences are electric as we have goats pastured on the land. We have some mowed walking trails however during wet times we are not able to mow all trails.

Other things to note
The yurt has its own private driveway and is in a private setting. Sounds from our animals and children may be heard from time to time while staying at the yurt. If walking the property you may see goat fencing in some areas. Please assume all fencing is electrified.
We have a trail system that we mow but in wet seasons we can not mow all areas. The main trails leads right onto the Kelly Wildlife Preserve. It is a 15 to 20 min hike to the back side of the 300 acre Bog Pond where eagles soar and wildlife abounds. (If you are luck you just might see a moose..)
You can paddle in from an inlet just down the road (1 beaver dam to portage) and on most days have amazing pond all to yourself. No kidding.
The fishing is very good.

Neighborhood highlights

Dresden is an area rich in History and agriculture. John Adams tried cases at the Pownalborough Courthouse along the banks of the oh so historic Kennebec River just a few miles away.
Wild blueberry fields, organics farms, rivers galore and good eats dot the local landscape of the area.
From the yurt you can be to Portland in 45 min. Augusta, Daramoscotta, Bath and Brunswick are 20-30 mins. Wiscasset, Gardiner and Richmond as well as 1-95 are all 20 min or less.
If you travel with canoe or kayak the Kennebec, Eastern and Sheepscott river are just minutes away. Portage a beaver dam and you can paddle the lonely lovely 300 acre pond inside the Kelly Preserve which borders our property.
Food is close by, adventure is all around and history abounds.
Or you can just chill in the yurt!
