Our house is situated across a quiet road from the beach in the beautiful town of Teignmouth. We have two en-suite rooms overlooking the sea on the first floor available for guests. (This listing is for one of the rooms only)

The space
Lyme Bay House was run as a successful hotel for a long time until the previous owner retired a few years ago. It had remained empty for a while and is quite dated but we are slowly making progress to update the decor, fittings and fixtures and have started with our two guest bedrooms. We are a family with four children who need a lot of space so we won't be turning Lyme Bay House back into a hotel any time soon as this is our family home, but we do feel we should open up our house to allow people the chance to stay in one of the best locations in Devon.

Guest access
The two guest rooms each have flexible sleeping arrangements with one double bed and one or two single beds depending on guest requirements. We can provide a cot if required. Both of our guest rooms are overlooking the sea and both have an en-suite shower room where toiletries and towels are provided. We do not provide breakfast but we do provide a mini-fridge in your room with complimentary bottled water, tea and coffee. There are supermarkets nearby and if you would like a cooked breakfast there are many excellent cafes within a short walk. We also provide free wifi.

We welcome children of all ages.
We do not accept dogs or other pets.
Smokers are welcome but must smoke outside.
We can comfortably accommodate two adults per room plus up to two children (if you have more than two children or more than two adults please message us and we'll see if we can accommodate you).
If your requested dates are unavailable, please contact us and we'll see if we can sort something out.
Check-in is flexible but generally between 4pm and 8pm but if these times are inconvenient please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Neighborhood highlights

It takes 10 seconds to walk across the road from our house to Teignmouth's beautiful sandy beach. We have a church next door and if you walk the other way you will find yourself in the town centre where we have numerous shops, pubs, restaurants and the mainline train station (direct trains to the North, the Midlands and London). Activities in Teignmouth include a children's play park, a skate park, a mini golf dinosaur park, a bowling green, a tennis court, an open air heated swimming pool and plenty of other things including fishing, crabbing, boating and golfing. Around the corner there is the river beach at the mouth of the River Teign where England's oldest passenger ferry can take you across the river to the lovely village of Shaldon. All this is within a ten minute level walk from Lyme Bay House. And the South West Coast Path passes right outside our house which also makes us a perfect stopover for walkers.

We are a couple from England and Indonesia with four children (two little ones and two not so little). We love to travel and have stayed in all types of places from backpackers to five star accommodation. We have recently moved into a property in Teignmouth which was once a hotel and we have two spare rooms available for guests.
