Escape to the countryside in this beautiful family home set on a small farm with game and horses, 20 minutes from Pretoria. Children and adults alike can enjoy the space, fresh air, and opportunities for hiking, cycling, birdwatching, and horse rides on the game farm.

The home is solar-powered with a backup generator, offering peace of mind and comfort throughout your stay. Conveniently close to Rosemary Hill, Greenhouse Café, and Campagne Living.

The space
Set on a small farm in Pretoria East, this comfortable cottage offers a peaceful countryside escape for families. The cottage features three bedrooms—one upstairs and two downstairs—and two bathrooms. A spacious loft provides additional sleeping space with a double bed and a single bed, while a daybed on the landing is ideal for a child or teenager.

The open-plan kitchen and lounge are fully equipped with all the essentials for a relaxed stay, making it easy to slow down and enjoy time away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Step out onto the stoep/patio, where a BBQ area overlooks the paddocks of the stable yard.

Guests are welcome to take a short walk to the dam and enjoy a picnic on the deck, often in the company of impala, nyala, zebra, and blesbok. It’s a calm, restorative setting and a wonderful place to unwind while taking in the farm’s beautiful sunsets.

Other things to note
The nearest restaurants and supermarkets are approximately 20 minutes away. For guests who prefer a relaxed stay without much driving, we recommend bringing along enough groceries for your visit. The unit is stocked with rusks, coffee, and tea; all other meals are to be provided by guests.

For added convenience, we offer warm breakfasts, lunches, picnic baskets, and dinners at an additional cost. The farm is close enough to Pretoria to enjoy the comforts of the city, yet far enough away to offer a quiet, restful escape from busy everyday life.

We’re just a short drive from Pretoria, offering the convenience of the city while providing a peaceful, quiet retreat. The surrounding area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with mountain biking, horse riding (available on the property) and sightseeing nearby. Several popular wedding venues are also within easy reach, including Rosemary Hill, Greenhouse Café, De Haven Oos, Galagos, Campagne Living, and Die Akker.

In love with each other, our home and travelling. We enjoy an active, healthy lifestyle. We travel to experience "life as a local" while still taking in the touristy things in our own unique way. We like all the luxury offered by living in a big city but do enjoy the peace and quiet offered by the small farm we live on. Our favourite entertainment is watching the game and horses grazing at sunset while sipping on good red wine. We share our home with Madeleine’s son Geordan, three friendly dogs Joey a Boxer and Chellie and Penny our two Dachshund.
