Neighborhood highlights

Set in a lovely quiet area of Rye, yet having easy access to the main town centre (3 min walk).
The excellent Globe Inn Marsh public house is just 50m away and the river Rother can be accessed from the back garden.
Walk over the railway bridge through the town's ancient gate to the pretty cobbled streets of Rye.
The town is full of wonderful cafes, excellent restaurants, pubs and bars. It prides itself on artisan stores and independent shops. There is a very established art community so no shortage of art galleries to enjoy as well as vintage and antique stores to explore.

We are fortunate to live nearby to some spectacular vineyards such as Chapel Down (15 mins drive) and Gusbourne Estate (10 mins drive) that are well worth a visit; for more information contact Wine Tours of Kent.
Kent and East Sussex have the most National Trust properties of the entire country, so no shortage of places to explore.

Hi I’m your host, Helen. I live a few minutes‘ drive from River House in a farmhouse in nearby Tenterden with my husband, four children and numerous cats and dogs. We spend most weekends in Rye and the surrounding area, which has something for everyone. We love the fact that you can spend the morning at a gorgeous sandy beach, the afternoon visiting the eclectic mix of shops and art galleries, and the evening dining at one of Rye’s fabulous restaurants. We fell in love with River House as soon as we saw it, and designing the 70s-inspired interiors has been an absolute joy. We think we have created a totally unique experience, and I hope you enjoy River House as much as we do!
