Stay at Lobster Camp cabins and step back in time. Breathe in the salty air from the deck of your cabin perched on the edge of a true working harbor. Hear the low rumble of lobster boats and watch fishermen unloading their catch. So close to the harbor you feel like a part of the action, even from inside. The Lobster, a vintage 1960's 2 bedroom cabin retains its old school charm with updates for comfort. 4 cabins in total, this one is closest to the harbor. The view looks like a postcard.
The space
Simple, uncluttered furnishings & spectacular harbor views. Rustic, knotty pine walls, fast dedicated wifi, and no television. The harbor view deck has a couple of lobster trap chairs, a small picnic table and your own small gas grill nearby. This cabin is the closest to the harbor with unobstructed views of all harbor activity from your living room chairs.
There are 2 equal sized bedrooms. One has a new king size mattress, the other 2 twin beds. The bathroom has a small camp shower stall.
The cabin is charming, clean and comfortable. A simple design built with knotty pine over 6o years ago. The view and location is one of a kind - a place to experience an authentic Maine fishing harbor up close. As pine walls don't buffer much sound, it may be best suited to a couple, a family, or close friends.
*this cabin will have a new tile shower this season (2026)!
On the harbor is a pier and small float in front of the cabins for launching kayaks (not included) or just hanging out. The float is smack dab in the center of the harbor. Sitting there you can't help feel part of the action. Relax & restore while the tides, birds, and fisherman guide your daily schedule. It's a unique and memorable setting.
There is a shared fire pit overlooking the harbor for guests use.
Buy lobster off the boat from the fisherman across the harbor (ask us how). There's a lobster pot in each cabin of if you'd prefer to cook lobster outside, we have a propane tank hooked up to a large lobster pot burner next to the fire pit.
Though the cabins are not insulated, there are electric radiators to take the chill off on shoulder season nights and mornings.
We're often staying in the Heron cabin (furthest back) and may be around tending the garden or working on small projects. Your privacy comes first, and we’re also happy to connect and share local tips if you’d like.
If your dates are unavailable, take a look at our 2 other cabins - the Halibut cabin and the Oyster cabin. We also host guests in two one bedroom apartments on Munjoy Hill in Portland. You may be able to find these listing by going to our Airbnb Profile.
Please note, we highly recommend travel insurance. Your credit card may offer this as a benefit, Airbnb offers it at checkout, and you can buy it independently. It's usually a fairly reasonable rate and worth it if planning well into the future, or for longer stays.
