The Heron, a vintage 1960's 2 bedroom cabin retains its old school charm with minor updates for comfort. 4 cabins in total, this one is at the top of the hill with unobstructed postcard worthy views.
The space
Simple, uncluttered furnishings & spectacular harbor views. Rustic, knotty pine walls, fast wifi, and no television. The harbor view deck is a comfortable place to hang out and your own small gas grill is nearby. This cabin is at the top of the small hill and the harbor views are sweeping. You can see lobster boats from inside from your living room chairs and your kitchen table.
There are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with 2 twin size beds. This cabin has a long orientation and the bedrooms are at either side of the building which gives more privacy than the other cabins. The bathroom has a small camp shower stall. Linens, pillows & bedding are new.
A pier and small float in front of the cottages for launching kayaks (not included) or just hanging out. The float is smack dab in the center of the harbor. Sitting there you can't help feel part of the action. Relax & restore while the tides, birds, and fisherman guide your daily schedule. There are not many places with this setting.
There is a shared fire pit overlooking the harbor for guests use.
Buy lobster off the boat from the fisherman across the harbor (ask us how). There's a lobster pot in each cabin of if you'd prefer to cook lobster outside, we have a propane tank hooked up to a large lobster pot burner next to the fire pit.
Though the cabins are not insulated, there are electric radiators in each room to provide warmth for cool nights and mornings.
Pemaquid Beach is a picturesque sandy crescent 1.6 miles away. It offers restrooms, outdoor showers, changing rooms & beach chair and umbrella rentals. It is a calm water beach.
