- No TV or WIFI. There’s great 4G signal though if you want to stream a movie on your phone/tablet. There are plug sockets in the Treehouse.
- No lighting to the Treehouse. This is because there are lots of owls and bats here and the lights make it hard for them to hunt. Eat carrots before arrival!

Check-out until 10am. Late check-out possible until 12pm for £15 subject to availability. Message with your request and, if it's possible, we'll send across a payment link once the booking is made.

THINGS TO DO AT THE FARM:
All bookable via the website (Search ‘Cronkshaw Fold Farm’).

We're a working farm that is not open to the public. It is not safe or permitted to wander about without a guide - we don't want to squish you with a tractor! We love showing visitors around so if you would like to see more of the farm you can book a farm experience via our website. Choose between:

-Farm Experience Morning/Evening:
Join our experienced farm staff for our morning or evening daily farm duties. Join in with feeding the animals their breakfast/supper, collecting eggs, checking the sheep, haying up the goats and whatever other seasonal duties are in the farm diary for that day.
1-hour 30-minutes. £50 for up to 6 attendees. With an option to add an organic, locally produced farm breakfast/supper if you choose.

- Goat Yoga:
A 90-minute Goats and Yoga bit of nuttiness. Do yoga. But in a goat pen. £25 per person. Classes are usually the 1st Saturday of the month.

We are a simple rural escape for folks wanting to get away from it all and live uninterrupted, enjoy your own/each other’s company and take in some beautiful English countryside.

*Don't forget to bring your welly boots!*

***HEALTH AND SAFETY NOTICE***
Coven Treehouse is just that - a treehouse - it is up a steep, uneven set of (sturdy) steps. There are slippery tree routes at the base of the tree. The wind makes the tree sway so the treehouse does too. Staying here requires some common sense and self-risk assessment on your part. This is NOT a suitable venue for those who would not be able to exit the treehouse safely and quickly should there be a freak lightning storm or severe gales. Such events are extremely unlikely but guests booking this accommodation should not do so without a working smart phone which allows them to keep an eye on the weather forecast and vacate the accommodation should a lightning storm or high winds (35mph+) be predicted. DO NOT book this accommodation unless you know you are able to bring a working smartphone on which you will be able to get regular weather updates. This is for your own safety. Should guests have to vacate we have back up accommodation available.

Coven Treehouse overlooks Alden Valley. Fab sunrise and sunset views can be seen from the windows and when you lie in bed you can see where the sky meets the horizon and the branches of the trees. There's a bookcase with a great selection of books, It’s not a swap shelf so please leave our books on the shelf for others to enjoy after your stay. The treehouse is draft proofed and insulated and there is a heater so it can be kept toasty warm and cosy in there easily.

Guest access
Coven Treehouse is exclusively yours for the duration of your booking. You will also have a private WC and sink for your sole use.

Hello! Welcome to Cronkshaw Fold Farm, an hour North of Manchester, England. We (Dot - that's me - I run the farm, my small team of awesome farm staff and my retired parents - a farmer and a computer engineer) have a handful of unique, quirky accommodations here which are helping us earn additional revenue through having guests to stay. We are saving up for solar panels, a wind turbine, switching out diesel farm machinery for electric and converting our current farming practices to lower carbon alternatives. Every penny you spend here helps us reach these goals quicker, so thank you for considering us. Our aim is that guests here can have as low an environmental impact as possible when holidaying with us. From washing bed linens in eco-only detergents purchased from our local single use plastic free shops (of which we are lucky enough to have TWO!) to upcycling all the accommodation furniture, fixtures and fittings. We do everything we can think of to be as environmentally friendly as possible. We’re currently working on installing Tesla charging points for our guests so those with electric cars can easily charge on site, too. Choose from our Shepherd's Hut, The Old Farm Office, Coven Treehouse and Alden Woodland Yurt. We also have a spring water filtered hot tub that can be booked separately as can breakfast hampers, farm tours and more. Nosey at us online by searching 'Cronkshaw' if you want to find out more about our farm.
