The space
Here's everything you can expect:

- OCCUPANCY POLICY:
Although our capacity is for 2 guests, the house can only be occupied by the people included and registered in the booking request. Hosting additional visitors during the stay is not allowed.

The rate is set by the number of guests; therefore, any person not previously registered in the reservation will incur an additional charge and must be authorized before check-in.

We appreciate your understanding and respect for this rule, which allows us to maintain safety, order and a quality experience for everyone.

-THE ROOM: It's spacious. It has a double bed, a chest of drawers, a full-length mirror, a smart TV, zebra curtains, a ceiling fan, and air conditioning.

-BED LINEN AND TOWELS: We include sheets, pillows, and clean towels for your convenience.
🔹 Important: To promote sustainable and environmentally friendly accommodation, we do not offer a change of towels during the stay. The available towels are provided clean at check-in, and their care and washing during the stay is at the guest's expense.
🔹 Recommendation: For extended stays, we suggest you consider using the laundry area available on-site to keep them in good condition.

-BATHROOM: It has a shower with hot water, a toilet and a sink.
We provide you with essentials such as liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, and toilet paper.
🔹 Important: These supplies are not refillable during the stay, as they are complimentary and not part of the ongoing service. We recommend that you consider this if you are planning an extended stay.🔹

-AMENITIES AND COURTESY TOUCHES
To make your stay more comfortable, we provide coffee, filters, and sugar.
In Mérida, the tap water is not suitable for drinking, so we thought of you: For short stays, we provide 2 to 4 500-ml bottles of water at check-in. For stays of 7 days or more, a full 20-liter water jug is provided, with a refillable dispenser (Once the initial jug is empty, it will be the guest's responsibility to replenish the water only for their consumption during the stay). The kitchen is equipped with basic supplies such as salt, pepper and vegetable oil, so you can easily prepare your meals from day one.
🔹 Important: These supplies are NOT refillable during the stay, as they are complimentary and not part of the ongoing service. We recommend that you consider this if you are planning an extended stay. For the water, a practical shopping cart with wheels is provided for moving the water jug 🔹

-SERVICES:
The house has 300 MB Wi-Fi, air conditioning in the living room and bedroom, a Smart TV with a basic local cable system (Totalplay), and ceiling fans in all the rooms.

-HOUSEKEEPING:
Daily housekeeping or daily change of sheets is not included. If you would like this additional service, we can arrange it with you at an extra cost.
**GARDEN MAINTENANCE: Due to the large tamarind tree located in the courtyard, we know that the leaves and fruit can be a nuisance. Therefore, we include a garden cleaning service (area with white stones) at least once a week, which will be coordinated with you in advance for your convenience. (THIS IS THE ONLY SERVICE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST). The guest is responsible for keeping the terrace-like area (concrete floor area) clean.

-SMOKING AREA: Smoking is allowed exclusively in the terrace area.

⚡ REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF AIR CONDITIONERS: We know that Mérida is a hot city, so the house is equipped with air conditioners for your comfort. However, we ask our guests to use electricity responsibly:

* Continuous use of the air conditioners (24 hours) is not allowed.
* Use the units mainly for sleeping or during naps.
* Do not turn on more than one air conditioner at the same time.
* Keep the doors and windows closed while the air conditioning is on.
*Turn off the air conditioner every time you leave the room or the house.
*During the day, it is recommended to turn on the air conditioning for at least 15 minutes and then turn it off, using the ceiling fan. This will give you a feeling of coolness, save energy, and help prevent overheating or damage to the equipment, which could result in an extra charge.
* Consumption exceeding:
800 kWh from October to March will incur an additional charge.
1100 kWh from April to September will incur an additional charge
👉 RECOMMENDED SCHEDULE:
Sleep time: 8:00 PM to 10:00 AM → Air conditioning on.
During the day: from 10:00 AM onwards → AC off and use a fan.
Nap time: from 5:00 to 6:00 pm → Air conditioning on only during that time, then turn it off.
🌡️ Additional recommendation:
If it is very hot during the day, we suggest turning on the air conditioning for an hour to cool off and then turning it off again.
⚠️ Important:
The air conditioner in the living room is exclusively for that area. It should not be used for the kitchen or as a supplement for the bedroom.
By keeping the room's sliding door closed, the room stays cool and we help save energy.

- PET RULES The guest is responsible for any damage caused by their pet to furniture, bed linens, extra cleaning, and garden areas. Such damage will result in an extra charge, the amount of which will depend on the object affected and the extent of the damage.

The house has a large patio, but the pet must not go beyond the designated area. Casa Omaba is not responsible for any accidents or injuries to the pet.

Constant vigilance must be maintained to avoid mistreatment or damage to the green area.

Pets may sleep indoors as long as the area is left clean and free of hair at the time of checkout.

The terrace has a shade netting, ideal for protecting pets from the sun. However, it does not protect against rain or dew. Remember that the climate in Mérida is very hot and there is a risk of dehydration, for which Casa Omaba is not responsible.

For health reasons, no blankets or beds are provided for pets. Each owner is responsible for bringing the items necessary for the pet's well-being. At Casa Omaba, only water bowls and paw cleaning wipes are provided.

PLANT CARE: Due to the excessive heat in our city, the plants cannot be watered during the day. That is why we ask for the cooperation of our guests for stays of 5 days or more to water them every other day.

EXERCISE: Enjoy a large courtyard where you can do your exercise routines or practice yoga. We provide you with a 6 kg kettlebell, yoga mats, and a ball that are ready to use.

ACCESSIBILITY:
*The house is not recommended for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility, since the entrance has an elevation of approximately 30 cm and does not have access ramps.
*There is no parking on the property, but it is possible to park on the street in front, subject to availability. We do not reserve a space and are not liable for any damage to the vehicle during your stay. The safety of the vehicle is the guest's responsibility.

USE OF WATER IN APPLIANCES:
The water in Mérida is not potable or recommended for use in appliances.

For coffee makers, kettles and irons, please use purified water.

OTHER DETAILS:
The house has tourist information. Also, if you have any questions or special needs, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to help you have a pleasant stay.

We look forward to seeing you and hope you enjoy your time here.

Guest access
-The accommodation is completely private and exclusively for guests, it will not be shared with others.
- They will have full access to the property during your stay. Upon arrival, they will be able to access via a lock box whose code is shared one day prior to check-in, and during their stay they will have a physical key for added convenience.
IMPORTANT: Misuse or force that causes damage to the lock will result in a charge of $400 MXN. (The same price applies for lost keys)

Other things to note
**Casa Omaba is located in a residential area near the heart of Merida, just a few steps from the emblematic Plaza Grande. From our house you can admire the clock of the Municipal Palace, where there are numerous free cultural and artistic events, and you can walk to in just 10 minutes.
Its privileged location allows you to enjoy the city on foot: the Mercado de San Benito, perfect for your daily shopping, as well as convenience stores, supermarkets, minimarkets, pharmacies, bakeries and homemade loncherias are very close. You'll also find cozy cafes and bars, plus being walking distance to the best nightlife in Mérida.
It is also the best area to live the Day of the Dead celebrations: we are only 32 minutes from the General Cemetery, two blocks from the traditional Paseo de las Ánimas and very close to the unique decorations of the Park of San Juan.
For beach lovers, transportation stations to the iconic coasts of Celestún and Progreso are practically on your doorstep. And the best: you can enjoy all this and at the same time work comfortably thanks to the tranquility of the area and its excellent connectivity.

* We have great discounts on stays of 28 days or more.

*Mérida is a lovely city with a tropical climate, which means that during the rainy season (mainly from June to October) intense rains can occur in short periods of time. This can cause temporary swarms in some streets or areas of the city, especially if the rains are very heavy.
We ask for understanding as these climatic conditions are natural to the region and beyond our control. Occasionally, due to gusts of wind, momentary failures in the electricity supply may occur. For peace of mind, we have equipped the house with some basic instruments - such as flashlights and candles - to help you cope with any inconvenience. This is a residential house, therefore, it does not have a power generator in case of a power outage. We do all in our power to make your stay safe, comfortable and pleasant, rain or shine.

**As a good tropical and hot city, it is common to observe insects in the garden area that can sometimes enter the house. These are endemic, non-poisonous species that can appear despite fumigations carried out every 15 days. For your convenience, insecticide is provided.
Repellent is also offered for use inside the house, especially during the rainy season, when mosquitoes may occur in the area.
It is recommended not to accumulate garbage and to keep inorganic waste bagged and in the backyard bin, always covered, to prevent the spread of pests. If you have any problems, please don't hesitate to contact us; we'll be happy to help.

**Small gatherings of up to 7 or 8 people are allowed, as long as they do not involve overnight stays by additional guests. If held, the meetings may last approximately between 8:00 pm and 2:00 am, provided that they are held in the patio area and the rest and tranquility of the neighborhood are respected.

**If the barbecue is used, constant supervision is required and make sure to completely extinguish the charcoal at the end. Likewise, please take care of the apartment and facilities during your stay, as any damage or special cleaning could generate additional charges.

**The house is in a residential area, so we have neighbors who lead a normal daily life. It is possible to hear common sounds from the environment, such as traffic or activities typical of a Yucatecan neighborhood.
Some neighbors have adorable cats as pets, which can occasionally walk around the garden. They are friendly animals, but it is recommended not to approach them and, instead, to gently chase them away. The guest is fully responsible for any damage or incident that may occur when having contact with the animals.

**Are you a yoga instructor, functional training or similar? This is the place for you. If you are on vacation but don't want to stop sharing your passion and knowledge, please contact me! We can coordinate for you to teach your lessons here during your stay.
